For a business, the “win” is usually in sales, job completed, customer satisfaction, and profit. For a sports team, a “win” is usually defined in overall improvements, team unity, completion of established goals, and championships. What is a “win” for a church? Is it attendance? Is it attendance on Sunday mornings? Sunday nights? Wednesday nights? Is it souls saved, people baptized, amount of money collected in offerings, and mission trips taken? At West Jackson we are looking at different ways to measure the effectiveness of our ministries. As we look at these metrics, the only real question we should ask is, “are we obedient to God’s plan and direction as a church?”. In 2015 we established our Strategic Plan. This is a 5-year plan to focus us as a ministry, so we can be unified under a common purpose to reach people with the Gospel and equip believers to do the work set before us. On Sunday night, May 20 we will have our next business meeting. We will be giving an update at this meeting about the progress of the 2020 Vision and Strategic Plan. I hope you will make plans to attend and hear what God is doing, and how you can be involved. Let’s do all things, by all means, so that we may win some. (1 Corinthians 9:22). Follow Jesus! Bro. Keith
