The funds will go a long way in supporting our 125 th Anniversary of the school celebrations planned for next year. If you would like to take part in planning our celebrations or would like to contribute either memorabilia or memories, please contact the office. We would love to hear from you. BASKETBALL Last week our Grade 5/6 All Star Boys Basketball team travelled to Dandenong Basketball stadium on both Monday and Tuesday to compete. Monday was the Hooptime finals and Tuesday the State Schools Victoria (SSV) Division championship. Our boys didn’t have as much success as they would have liked, but played well as a team and demonstrated great sportsmanship. We would like to send out a huge thank you to Duncan Hirst, who again took on the role of coach for both days. We would also like to thank all of the other parents who scored, transported and most importantly supported the boys over the two days. Congratulations to Henry, Tom, Casper, Angus, Mitch, Bailey and Thomas. We are so very proud to have you represent our school. CUP DAY A reminder that Tuesday 5 th November is a public holiday for Cup Day. Many families take the Monday prior as a holiday and tend to go away over this period. Traditionally we have a lower than normal attendance on this day. Therefore, teachers do not teach new material and many classes combine for the day. Please inform your child’s class teacher if your child will be absent on Monday 4 th November. BOOK FAIR Just a reminder that we will be having our final Book Fair for the year, 7 th – 14 th November. Please see the notice in this newsletter. If you are able to help out in any way on any morning or afternoon (before and after school), please see Jill at the office. We need as many volunteers as possible. Wednesday 30th October 2019 TOGETHER WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE
However, the sun began shining just as we headed outdoors and everything became bright and colourful. The students cheering for one another was heartening, mixing with laughter, joy and fun. It was fantastic to see the hard work of some of our wonderful students and parents fall into place and be enjoyed by all. Thank you to all who helped in the lead up, on the day and the huge fundraising effort by our student and families.
“The fun run was held at Ferny Creek Primary School on Friday last week. Finn, Lincoln and Oliver made a super fun slip and slide, Lexi and Mel made pool noodle tunnels to run through. Maddie, Eloise and Lily made a ball pit and ladder run, and Thomas and Bailey made an obstacle course with a springboard, trampoline and some hurdles. It was so much fun to run and get colourful! “ – Lexi

THANK YOU - Halloween on the Green A huge thank you to everyone in our school community who helped to make Saturday a wonderful success.
We had such dismal weather, but the day had such a wonderful community vibe and everyone looked like they had a ball.
Thank you so much to the incredible team who created the mind-blowing Hansel and Gretel haunted house. To the parents, Grade 6 students and Lyn from After the Bell who helped on our drinks stall, the many families who baked scrumptious goodies for the cake stall and those who also have children at Sassy kinder and helped across both our school and the kinder. So much effort from everyone involved and it is truly appreciated.
And... thank you to the many families who came along and supported the day, it was delightful seeing so many familiar faces. We hope you had a wonderful time!
The aim of Halloween on the Green (hosted by The Philanthropic Collective) is to create a safe and inexpensive event for families from all walks of life to enjoy. The schools, kinder and community groups involved receive a split of the funds raised on the day.
