Statistics is the fastest-growing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) undergraduate degree in the United States over the last four years. The ASA analyzed data compiled by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) on 160 STEM bachelor's degree categories granted by U.S. public and nonprofit colleges and universities. The ASA analysis showed undergraduate statistics degrees nearly doubled (95% growth rate) during the period spanning 2010 to 2013. The significant growth of statistics outpaced that of all computer-related disciplines, environment, and psychology. What do insecure people post on Facebook?(Newser) –Researchers at Brunel University
London reviewed the status updates of 555 Facebook users who completed surveys about self-esteem, narcissism, and the "Big Five" personality traits: extroversion, neuroticism, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness.
Extroverts, for example, frequently wrote about social events and tended to use Facebook exclusively to socialize, the Independent reports. Conscientious people often wrote about their children, while people with open personalities didn't shy away from sharing political views or social itinerary. People with low self-esteem, meanwhile, frequently posted about their romantic partners. Keisha Brown
