VMware StorageHistoric Problems Still Exist
• I/O Blender
• Hard To Manage
• Hard To Troubleshoot
VMware StorageNew Realities Making It Worse
• Increased VM Density
• Virtualization of Mission/Business Critical Workloads
• Budgets Are Flat
Increased VM Density - A Bigger Blender
• Density improves ROI but...increases potential
performance problems
• Flash is the key but...How much? How to leverage?
Virtualizing Of Critical Workloads
• Need to handle more Storage I/O workloads
• Need Predictable Performance
• Need better Insight for Troubleshooting
Flat Budgets - Do More With Less
• Higher VM DensityAddress with Flash but raises costs
• Greater Data EfficiencyDeduplication and Compression
• More Multi-PurposeNAS and SANiSCSI and FCHigh Performance and High Capacity
