Unit 317 memory test

With this practical we change the memory space with the computer system a few times and does a performance test to see what results we get.

We start by changing the memory to 512 MB and we confirm it.

We then did a performance test and got the results 548.5.

With this test it will affect the whole system because using 512MB of RAM will not be very effective because when you try to run many programs such as word or PowerPoint will use all of the RAM not leaving any leftover so the system will affected dramatically in performance because it will not be able to handle the tasks given.

Next we changed the memory size to 1024 MB and we ran the test again.

With the performance test we got a result of 644.2 when the memory was changed.

With this test in the change of the RAM 1024 MB to it will affect overall how the system will work because with more RAM you will be able handle more tasks with more programs open at once because of the RAM size so the system will not be affected as much because it has more RAM. It will change how the system works because it will be much smoother and overload the system as much by using certain programs such as a game that is downloaded it will be able to make it run smoother than the other RAM.

We then did another memory test by changing the memory to 2048 MB and then we ran the test again.

From this test we got a result of 707.3 when we changed the memory.

With this test we see the change in RAM to 2048 MB it has affected the performance of the system with a high performance result which shows that the system can handle more tasks then beforehand like running a game at smooth settings which will use a lot more of the RAM because there is more of it and will over make performance greater without affecting the system too much in performance.

We now do another memory test by changing the memory to 6146 MB

We do another test and we got the result of 730.2 from the final test.

With this test we see that the change in RAM 6146 MB it has given us even more space to use on the system and also being able to run the system a lot smoother at a better performance because with these changes it will affect how many programs you can run as well with the performance not being affected as much as having less RAM from the earlier tests. Overall it will perform at a much better pace and will not have much as an impact as less RAM would.
