The Geography of Canada’s National Parks

Task: to develop an understanding of Canada’s National Parks and Reserves and to analyze geographic factors that impact the level of tourism. After examining information, pictures, and maps found on the Canadian National Parks website, students will create and present a tourist brochure of an assigned national park highlighting those key geographic factors.

Geographic Question: How does the physical and human geography of national parks and reserves, impact the volume of visitors to the places?

Tri-fold Brochure: When making a tri-fold brochure you need to plan for 6 panels (each page having 3 panels). This must be made using a Word document. You will also need to have/create a turnitin.com account if you do not already have one.

Panel 1 – Location info. Includes map. Driving distances from major cities. Etc. Panel 2 – Park info. Hours. Costs. List of references, your name/class can go here. Panel 3 – Title. Bets image of park. Slogan. Address & Phone Number. Etc. Panel 4 – History of park. Why is was designated a National Park. Iconic images.Panel 5 – Visitor Info. Climate. Flora. Fauna. ImagesPanel 6 – Points of Interest and anything you would like to add.

Brochure Rubric
