Kingspan Insulation delivers high-performance, energy efficient GreenGuard ® products

Atlanta, Ga. — Kingspan Insulation LLC is a

Kingspan Insulation will have its GreenGuard® XPS Insulation Board and DC14 Drainage

Mat featured in The New American Home® at the International Builders’ Show in January,

10–12, 2017 and at its booth, No. S2606 in the South Hall.

The Kingspan GreenGuard® brand portfolio of products offers XPS insulation board, air

barrier building wraps and accessories. XPS insulation boards have an R-value of 5.0 per

inch of thickness, which helps increase energy efficiency within a structure. XPS insulation

boards are best suited for a variety of applications including below slab, below grade along

the foundation, inside basement walls, exterior insulation over wood sheathing and residing.

They help meet ASHRAE and IECC codes for continuous insulation (ci) blanket

requirements when installed directly over studs or over wood sheathing. The weather-

resistive barriers serve as the second layer of moisture protection, deflecting water away

from sheathing and keeping it from further penetrating the wall system. XPS is also a general-

purpose insulation that is designed for roofing, wall and foundation applications, all of which

require a minimum compressive strength.

Wall System Moisture-Management Products

Kingspan Insulation uses an integrated approach that includes a combination of the right

building wrap, flashing and tape to keep water out of the wall system. Kingspan GreenGuard

RainDrop® 3D, HPW™, MAX™ and C2000 building wraps provide an air barrier to allow for

moisture vapor to escape. The water-resistive barrier helps protect against moisture

infiltration and reduces the potential for rot, mold, and mildew, which also helps the cavity

insulation to retain its properties over time.

Kingspan GreenGuard DC14 drainage mats provide

advanced moisture management with excellent water-

resistive barrier properties, and drainage channel features on

certain products. These drainage channels permit easy

drainage for water and allow air movement between the

siding and sheathing that helps to keep the wall dry.

Environmental Health and Safety

Kingspan Insulation products help reduce the impact buildings have on the environment

throughout their lifecycle by increasing the energy efficiency. Some select building wraps are

produced as Qualified Air Barrier Material for added performance. Kingspan GreenGuard

XPS products have been certified for points toward NGBS green certification and can also

contribute to achieving LEED rating points. Each Kingspan GreenGuard insulation product

also achieves the required fire performance rating for its intended application.

North America Expansion

Kingspan Insulation is on course to add new capacity to its manufacturing site in Winchester,

Virginia. The company has begun a $25 million investment in the plant with the installation of

a new, state-of-the-art GreenGuard XPS insulation manufacturing line. Kingspan Insulation

is currently appraising locations for three new state-of-the-art manufacturing lines. Locations

under consideration are at its existing plant in Virginia, at its sister company sites in

California, Florida, Ohio, Ontario and British Columbia, as well as sites in Nevada and

Texas.
