WORKING TITLE: SUMMER PROGRAM PRINCIPAL APPOINTMENT DURATION: 06/16 – 08/15/2017 POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Halbert and Nancy Robinson Center for Young Scholars offers two summer commuter programs: Summer Challenge, a 3- week program for students currently in the 5th-6th grade, and Summer Stretch, a 5-week program for students currently in the 7th-10th grade. These programs offer highly capable students a fast-paced and challenging curriculum. The Center is seeking a Summer Principal to be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the summer program, including supervision of teachers and teaching assistants, oversight and supervision of documentation for the summer program. This person will supervise drop-off and pick-up of children, review and collect syllabi of teachers, facilitate communication between families and the RC staff, and plan the orientation programs for teachers, teaching assistants and families. As needed, this person will assist with other tasks during the summer session, to be determined by the Assistant Director of Summer Programs or RC Director. This position will be supervised by both the Assistant Director of Summer Programs and RC Director. Responsibilities to be completed within the term of the appointment include: • Supervising the Summer Program Assistant Principal; • Designing and facilitating of both the Summer faculty and parent/student orientations; • Overseeing the documentation of classroom observations, along with the collecting and editing of raw media and materials from Robinson Center’s Summer Programs; • Reviewing student progress reports. Implementing system for instructors to complete and submit reports, and records management for Summer Program staff; mailing of final
