Peace Education Consultation and Awareness Sessions in schools and institutions Peace is dire need of the hour for sustainable world. Internationally majority developed countries have started building peace through education, awareness, interfaith harmony, international relations, reduction of poverty and appropriate implementation of human rights etc. United Nation has set 17 SDGs for better achievement of the sustainable peace and harmony in almost all aspects. I really admire all countries contributing to achieve world peace and sustainability, especially the key role of German Embassy in Pakistan creating difference through the developmental and awareness micro projects. I would like to inform and update that submitted project “Peace Education for Inter and Intra-faith Youth in Pakistan” is very close to my heart. Being Peace Ambassador and Peace Activist, I have started my journey to achieve the set objectives for the mentioned project. Following are the some activities done in different schools and the process will continue with many other schools and institutes. An awareness session was planned in Kingdom of heaven High School, Badian Road Lahore about Peace Education. There were around 40 school teachers and administration of school. There were told about the ethics and social norms of the students. Mainly they come to know our students have differences of religion, cast, color, family background, financial stability and character values to some extent. They need an appropriate teaching on all those issues can cause their anger and followed by fight.

Pastor Ernest Masih is teaching Scripture in school and helped to organize a session there. I am very thankful for his concerns and introduction gave to the school teachers and administrative staff members. I also appreciate the consultation and involvement showed by the school teachers for the development of an individual subject named as “Peace Education for youth”. They also shared it is a good initiative which will help students and teachers to upgrade the core values and character building of the students. Teachers said, we would love to implement the idea and books will be very helpful for better teaching to the students up to Metric class/ ten standards.
Later I met to Sir Tariq Gill, he is Assistant Principal for ACTS Model High School, Mariam Nishat Colony, Lahore Cantt. He also acknowledged and welcomed the subject to teach in the school up to ten standards. His elder brother is a political worker of PTI Mr. Mubarak Gill nominated MPA-PTI, Lahore, also promised to help in any manner where needed.
I met to Sir Loban Masih, he is teaching as a senior science teacher in Cathedral High School near Kenya Park, Srafraz Rafiquee Road, Lahore Cantt. He appreciated the idea and gave best wishes to implement accordingly. He said, our school will definitely cooperate for the implementation for this needful project because I believe education is not only information but formation. His encouraging words made my day and boosted energies to do well for Peace. I believe peace cannot be achieved in few days rather it is a long process. We need to hold it for better results. I visited HIM School and gave a lecture to school students about Peace
Education. This unique subject will cover human values, human rights awareness, social norms, interfaith harmony, co-existence and peace etc. All students were excited to learn the new things which can help them directly to become a better human being.
I arranged an awareness session with the students of 9 th and 10th classes at HIM School Systems and through activity they learned what Peace Education is?, Which created awareness and urge to become better human. All students showed their great interest.
All activities have created great impact on the teachers and students which were organized on self help basis. They felt and realize that Peace Education is the real need of the hour. I am very
hopeful and determine to make a big difference at national and international levels by implementing this project with the kind support of friends and organization like you. Thank you very much!
