MEETING PAPERS

Dt. 25-2-1988

MIND

Mind and what is it? We speak of Cosmic Mind or Infinite Mind or Chittie and also speak of individual Mind as Cosmic Mind flowing through each type of thinking instrument or brain or equivalent of a brain whether of a human being or any type of lower life and call it Chitta and which is supposed to remain as a catalyst during its flow.

So we ask what is the nature and composition of mind, be it Cosmic Mind or Individual Mind.

Cosmic Mind: Is that when awareness is (1) pure awareness (Infinite)

(2) When intelligence or intellect is pure intellect (Infinite Wisdom) when

(3) Life is absolute pure life (Infinite) together with infinite contents of

(4) Tamas (5)Rajas (6) Sattva, but all at total rest and rhythm (as cream and butter are at total rest and rhythm in milk) Nonetheless we see the six ingredients constituting Infinite mind or Chitti, where all six ingredients are at total rest and rhythm thus forming an infinite ocean in which the total Universe floats with all Its contents.

Individual Mind :Is also the complex state of the six ingredients viz. (1) awareness (2) Intellect or intelligence –wisdom (3) Life (4) Tamas (5)Rajas (6) Sattva but in one of the myriad combinations and permutations where anyone of the ingredient could be between 1 to 100 degrees of intensity leading to infinitude of individual minds we call chitta and all the six ingredients are in flux and never at total rest as in Cosmic Mind. Such one combination and permutation is a code and structure of the individual mind and is also the same code and structure of the individual because normally mind gets involved with brain processes of I.E.S.M. based on Karmic and cosmic laws of the Universe.

2

Page 4: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Whenever and wherever mind is present be it individual mind in whatever state, must show presence of all the six ingredients in whatever combination and permutation and in flux, but if anyone of these six ingredients is not present it ceases to be individual mind or even a thinking instrument however crude.

So a complex organism like a human being must be able to by various natural interior processes be they conscious or beyond the threshold of our awareness to partake of some degree the contents of the mind whether it be individual mind or cosmic mind because individual mind is cosmic mind if not polluted. It is said to be polluted when it involves itself with brain processes and emotions of the computerised organism instead of remaining as a mere catalyst.Details given later.

Even so, as each mind is the same as the cosmic mind, (in potential) each computerised organism through its thinking instrument is able to receive i.e. partake of or from the cosmic mind what is inherent in each body/brain system i.e. each computerised organism which is totally dependent on each individual code and structure to that extent. This is a sort of churning process. This is true in case of a human being or any type of lower life anywhere in the Universe.

When a computerised organism i.e. a body/brain system has no proper processes of partaking the potential from the cosmic mind through the individual mind, we say only a play of accumulated memory patterns along with incoming impulses resulting in automatic reflex action because of the functioning of I.E.S.M. centres in the registration area. This is the state of the present day mankind. The result is formation of emotive granthies in various parts of the body/brain system; with symptoms of stress, tension and ailments.

All knowledge however impressive is merely accumulated memory of different type, it could also be some specialised type i.e. of a particular faculty (like engineering, medicine, Astor physics etc.) and will be reproduced mechanically like a tape recorder unless and until some natural process (*consciously or unconsciously) take place within, so that the thinking instrument partakes of or from cosmic mind through individual mind is

3

Page 5: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

potential and then we find pioneers in various fields but not necessarily spiritual (though it could be so.)

Through Sage Patanjali’s yoga sutra one is able to consciously partake of or from cosmic mind its potential to a very substantial extent. Depending on this extent one is on the stage of Pratyahara, Dharna, Dhyana or Samadhi. These are conscious stages (like S.S.C, B.A., M.A., Ph.D. Etc.) which denote to what extent one is able to communicate (consciously) with all pervading cosmic mind. Such conscious progress is achieved through scientific yoga practices.

So now we ask another question, what is memory? The answer is, all that is registered by each individual brain; but is all that is registered different from all that is experienced? Is the quality of memory same in all? If not why? Memory belongs to brain.

So we another question, what is intellect or intelligence? Intellect or intelligence is the ability and techniques of mind of making the quality of memory better. Memory could be retentive or less retentive could be good on recall or not so good, could be confused or could be clear (meaning it can be properly filed as good administration demands). This will make one individual differ in intellect or intelligence from the other; whereas awareness remains the same in all the different individuals. Details given later. (Refer page 5).

So we come to the most important question, what is attention?

Attention is the ability of each individual brain (depending on each individual code and structure) to file and keep arranged memory and fully co-operate with intellect or intelligence and maintain this link with one of the ingredients of cosmic mind. Thus attention becomes the meeting ground of brain and mind.

So we see how important is attention in co-operation with intellect or intelligence, (this being meeting ground of brain and mind) and in this is forged the main link between brain and individual mind or cosmic mind to partake of or from the cosmic mind its potential. Attention thus will make all the difference in education be it inner or outer education and will add value.

4

Page 6: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Attention is an inner quality of brain of the individual and by this link value is developed from within and not added from outside.

So we come to the final question, what is brain? Brain is an organ of the body or computerised organism as other organs are and one can feed any number of cassettes of many different faculties or disciplines including ideas on morality and religion i.e. good and bad, right and wrong etc.; and all these will reproduced as a tape recorder will without imbibing anything.

The brain can appear foolish or can appear very intellectual and logical but by itself cannot discriminate. It can only accept or reject different views as is fed into it, and it would change tomorrow from to-day if fresh material is fed into it. It can normally function on the bases of automatic reflex action and what is most noteworthy to note; is that scholars, preachers, philosophers, religious leaders and so called rational thinking person’s panic or lose control of themselves during an emotional storm or an ego crisis. This happens when attention wavers and breaks its link with intellect or intelligence of the mind.

Unless attention with intellect or intelligence (which is one of the ingredients of the cosmic mind and also the individual mind) can make the brain partake of or from the cosmic mind its potential one cannot hope to progress or achieve anything real or even obtain peace of mind or get relief from tensions and stress or ill health and will break down during emotional storm or ego crisis. The emotional granthies, this will be built up in the body/brain system of the computerised organism.

As long as attention, the faculty of the brain can keep its contact with intellect or intelligence of the individual mind or cosmic mind one is even alive and that is why self-preservation is structured in all life human or otherwise and is functioning automatically. When this contact becomes weak or is broken down (as an accident) one dies. It is not a conscious process and is beyond the threshold of our awareness in all human beings.

Finally we ask the question which is most obvious, what is the difference between awareness and intellect or wisdom or intelligence. To be aware of a thing, a person or an event is one thing and to understand about the thing, person or event simultaneously; is the energy of intellect or intelligence of the mind working in co-operation with attention of the brain a quality of

Page 7: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

brain forming a link between the mind and brain and a so called meeting ground. This process is automatic and varies from person to person and is beyond the threshold of our awareness. This meeting ground can be either in left or right mid-brain. Normally it is developed first in the left mid-brain and later also in the right mid-brain. The quality and purpose of left and right mid brains being different it develop as insight in left mid-brain and develop as intuition (for want of better word) in the right mid-brain. The action of mind on brain in these two places is that of a catalyst and upgrades the brain.

But in normal human beings the individual mind meets brain in the registration are through the function of I.E.S.M. and thus pollutes itself instead of up-grading the brain by meeting the right places and working as a catalyst. Can we make it a conscious process? We can then die consciously or sleep consciously. Thus we see a common quality of brain and mind and which should work together and strengthen the brain and up-grade the brain a natural process which should be consciously intensified for much psychic and spiritual progress.

YOGA SUTRA OF SAGE PATANJALI

“And now we shall begin our instructions in the science of yoga”.

We shall begin with the first two steps out of eight steps of yoga sadhna viz. (1) Yama (2) Niyama. You must have heard and read these two steps enough. But has anyone said or written how to do this? When brain and body refuses to co-operate with your good wishes, what do you do? Rather what can you do? We shall try to understand in the light of the sutras as Sage Patanjali would explain.

A human being is superior to all other life on our planet because of the superior structure of the human brain and its possibility of communication with higher centres (vortices) within it which are dormant but can be activated.

If contact with the higher centres is not possible and if not communication is established; then a human being can live on the automatic reflex action as all other life does and then there will be no difference in the lifestyle of living as compared to that of all other life. We are then animals in human form and with best of efforts Yama and Niyama will not be possible and so to try further steps of yoga is of no use. In short all life in creation actually lives in the registration area. This is the animal area.

The brain has some limitations, the most obstructing being (1) It can act only as a tape recorder or a computer though highly sophisticated, if no contact is established and communications are not established with the higher centres within the brain (2) it cannot gain or exercise over the body/brain system by itself and will act as per unrefined emotions i.e. as per lower nature and negative side of life will be predominate, though it (the brain) may be fully aware of the need of morals or the positive side of life but finds itself utterly powerless. This is the most obstructing weakness and limitation and most frustrating. Yama and Niyama aim to overcome this second weakness of the brain but no one has said how. People then wrongly resort to japa, tapa,

7

Page 9: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

religion, philosophy, ashram, pranayama, asana, meditation, relaxation, bio feedback, etc. to no avail.

Therefore the purpose of yoga sutra is to enable one to do away with these limitations and establish contact with and communication with the higher dormant centres of the brain after activating them.

But most yoga practices and all religions succeeded in only inhabiting the lower nature which amounts to being kept in deep freez. Yoga prohibits by imposing Yama and Niyama without being kept in deep freez. Yoga prohibits by imposing Yamaand Niyama without explaining how it can be made possible and religions by their prohibitory stand taken and morals enforced, “though shalt not”----------

There was a time when human race out of fear and superstitions accepted such prohibitory orders and still today many do accept; but the younger generation all over the world is rebelling and finding no satisfactory way out are unfortunately drawn to drugs and lawlessness.

The defect of all these systems is that when life’s tragic events break the deep freez state, the individual has no defence and will totally fail to meet life’s challenges, besides there is no possibility of real spiritual progress, because living under deep freez state, itself means that the possibility of all spiritual progress is also deeply frozen.

‘Patanjali’s yoga sutras that explain and show the way were developed in the Upnishadic age and have a different message to give. But the contact and communications with the higher centres of the brain can be set step by step. There is no jump across the chasm. In book III (6) Sage Patanjali says, “this illumination is gradual, it is developed step by step”; and this is possible when he further says, “Tireless endeavour is the constant efforts to restrain the modifications of the brain”. This is the sutra that is misunderstood.

The three higher centres (vortices) are besides the registration area. Registration area is the conscious brain of the science.

These three vortices, are unlike the registration area are free from the operation of incoming impulses with the near identical memory patterns and so at these points there is no need of vortices like I.E.S.M. to develop thought

8

Page 10: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

forms and so here at these three points awareness is pure awareness state and so is potent and can place the human brain in communication with Cosmic Mind and Cosmic World.!!

The word centre is not correct. It is a vortices formation in the tissues of the grey matter; normally dormant but can be activated. Examine the left thumb impression and you will get an idea of vortices. These three vortices are very tiny in size compared to the size of the thumb and hence are much more complicated in structure.

The body/brain system of a human being has two vital energies of (1) awareness and (2) life. It has (3) intelligence or intellect and is permeated by the three qualities (4) Sattva (5) Rajas (6) Tamas; in various combinations and permutations like water in sponge; we call code and structure. These qualities are never at rest i.e. they are in a constant flux and thus there is no rhythm and balance in the body/brain system. Where there is no rhythm and balance, there can be no peace and tranquillity and so conflict, fear, doubt and ailments prevail. The human brain by itself is in no position to exercise control over this situation. Every possible approach has failed.

This situation is due to avidya or ignorance of the conscious brain not realise its limitations. Normally it is ignorant of the three higher vortices. Should it be told about these three vortices even then it is near impossible for the brain to establish contact and communication because the first two steps are Yama and Niyama and these are to be established in the conscious part of the brain, the front brain, the registration area and no one has said how!

The three vital vortices, within the brain, besides the registration area where contact and communication has to be established are (1) insight vortices (2) intuition vortices (3) spiritual vortices, the first is in deep left mid brain near centre demarcation, the second is in deep right mid brain near the centre demarcation and the third is the mid brain in the connecting passage of both the mid brains. Since these three are normally dormant, their vortices formation is not much noticeable though the first vortices the insight centre has received some attention recently.

Here in these three vortices, (i.e. in any one of them) wisdom of the cosmic mind is the guiding force and the modifications of the registration area are

9

Page 11: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

not required in these points to get proper answer to problems and all proper guidance is received instantly. Besides these three vortices, the three qualities are at total rest and rhythm and so these three spots are silent and actually being near each other they form a silent area. Here peace and tranquillity prevails always and one can experience this peace and tranquillity if contact and communication is established with any one of these three vortices.

Unlike in the registration area, therefore, in anyone of three vortices, the possibility of mistake and errors are totally banished i.e. avidya is banished and so wrong thoughts and wrong actions are not possible and so no inner conflict and struggles that obstruct the path of the aspirant totally frustrating him or her. From this struggle we normal human beings find it very difficult, rather impossible to get out and be free. Therefore when this contact and communication is established, conflicts, doubt, fear, tension and ailments of all sorts are also banished.

It is said that the purpose of the cosmic law is to bring about this peace and tranquillity in place of error and ignorance and that they do not just function blindly demanding their pound of flesh; but then we learn the hard way, the painful way, the karmic way and so we dread the destiny to come and in our ignorance we propitiate the ‘gods’ or ‘powers’ with various gifts, ceremonies and prayers, as if this can be made possible.!!

But if we ourselves in full awareness and proper understanding bring this about, there is no need of the operation of cosmic laws. Thus Sage Patanjali says, “Pain which is yet to come, can be warded off”.

So all we have to do is: (1) refine and upgrade our code and structure. (2) bring about peace and tranquillity to the registration area because then only is the possibility of contact with one of the three vital vortices. The insight centre in the left mid brain near the demarcation has to be contacted first. (3) establish contact and communication between the registration area and this insight vortices. Please note no nerve communication or nerve network is necessary for this contact and communication and resembles the cordless function we are aware of, but of much refined nature.

10

Page 12: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Normally what happens at the registration area all our waking hours (and even during sleep) is that as per our code and structure we react to our incoming impulses with the help of memory patterns stored and all the unrefined emotions are ignited each day which percolate to the entire body/brain system effecting each cell, tissue, muscle, bone and blood. Once we reach such a state, yama and niyama is a near impossibility if we are not shown the proper way to get out of this maze where no way seems to lead out and we get utterly frustrated.

Sage Patanjali describes the conscious brain (registration area) in this state:

“The brain states are five and are subject to pleasure and pain i.e. they are painful or not painful”. (Pleasure is eqated with not painful).

“These modifications (agitations because there is no peace) are (1) Correct knowledge (2) Incorrect knowledge (3) Fancy (4) Sleep (5) Memory”.

“Basis of correct knowledge is correct perception, correct deduction, correct witness i.e. accurate evidence.”

“Incorrect knowledge is based upon perception of form and not upon the state of being”. (Not what is right but who is right).

“Fancy rests upon images which have no real existence”.

“Sleep is based upon the quiescent of vrittee or upon the non-perception of senses”.

“Memory is the holding on to that which has been known”.

Where does imbalance take place to drive away peace and tranquillity?

In the registration area i.e. front brain. What do people do normally to bring about semblance of peace? They resort japa, tapa, sanyas, ashram, pranayma. Asana, meditation, relaxation, bio feedback etc. to no avail. Do these ever succeed? Never, because they all including religion lead to a frozen state as stated earlier.

11

Page 13: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Long back in the Upnishadic age it was revealed that there existed a natural and permanent conflict between body and brain. But there also existed an eternal principle of reconciliation and that there was a need of making use of so called “Will”. To-day in the name of Zen some western writers bring this thought back to us. I quote Hubert Benoit.

“My brain can demand from my machine (body), but cannot impose it. The realisation of gesture supposes that the two factors are united i.e. my thought (brain) proposes the gesture and that my machine (body) accept it”.

“Will is nothing but this understanding. It is necessary that my machine (body) accept the invitation of the brain and open itself to it in full consent. This good will of my machine (body) is released when it (body) feels that my brain seeks its collaboration but without constraint”.

“In all inner discipline something directs my machine (body). What can this something be? It can only be the conciliatory principle which reconciles the two parts (brain and body). The correct inner discipline can be assumed only by the principle itself, (not the brain) and it comprises no kind of constraint, no inner struggle. Remember never to impose (will) on our machine but only to propose to it”.

In the registration area of the front brain, ‘I’ represent the brain and E & S represent the machine or body. From this, it is understandable that ‘I’ should propose and seek collaboration from E & S. This is nothing but our corrective exercises. We should understand therefore the first two steps of Yoga Sadhna of Yama and Niyama in this light.

If a teacher or book does not explain Yama and Niyama in this light, the disciples will never be able to get or gain control over their lower nature and this is the first requisite and this is to be gained without the least inner struggle as stated earlier.

Where there is no co-operation and understanding between ‘I’ and E & S the ratio prevalent is 2:4:8:2 in the registration area and where there is full co-operation and understanding between ‘I’ and E & S the ratio established is 5:2:2:1.

12

Page 14: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Normally what happens with a normal person is that out of the innumerable opposite tendencies, (each pair of opposite tendencies) and are innumerable pairs of opposites viz. Good/bad, spiritual/evil, darkness/light, sex/brahmcharya, kind/cruel, it is unending.

All these thousands of pairs of opposites can lie undisturbed in any normal human being. But when a person takes up fancy for yoga and thinks of good, the spiritual, brahmcharya and light as spiritual sadhna, immediately that his conscious brain wishes to live by these tendencies the opposite tendencies, evil, bad, darkness, and sex come to life which were otherwise lying dormant and these opposite agitations start an inner conflict and then the person tries to bring in “will”. These agitations keep him miserable, because the body and unrefined emotions rebel, at the thought of being dictated.

The purpose of Death and Birth:

“Bhiksu empty the boat”, said the great Buddha; Some thoughts on this subject come to my mind and I invite you to participate:

1. What dies at death (not who), 2. What continues after death (not who - like Geeta)3. What suffers at death if there be any suffering (not who)4. Does death mean total unconsciousness to erase all memory?5. Can death be conscious death i.e. Can we consciously enter death and

preserve our life’s memory?6. Can we continue to remain conscious till next birth i.e. between a

death and next birth?7. If yes, what is it that can remain thus conscious?8. If this something can remain conscious there should be a link and a

method to revive this information after fresh birth.9. So there must be a law of death and birth so a process of conscious

death and conscious birth and also a law for ordinary death and birth.10. Is this knowledge denied to human being? If not what is it?11. Why are we called mortals?12. Can we qualify for the stage of being called immortal if we do not

become unconscious at death or birth.13. Why are we unconscious during sleep?14. Can sleep be conscious sleep? 15. Is there a law and so a method of entering sleep consciously.16. So then can we enter death as we enter sleep consciously? i.e. we do

not fall to sleep or to die and be unaware?17. Can we bring series of death and birth to an end consciously and earn

Mukti?18. Is that ‘Mukti’ consciously achieved and from what?19. The rites and ceremonies of dead and the idea of Hell and Heaven do

they have any sense?20. Are your minds clear regarding the difference between mind and brain

(mind i.e. Chitta).21. What is cosmic Mind or Chittie?

14

22. Are our minds clear regarding the difference between consciousness and awareness? Can this awareness be refined and upgraded and to what extent?

23. The three qualities can they be refined and upgraded.24. How can these three qualities be churned and what does this churning

depend on?25. What are the outside factors that enter our body/brain system and

what effect do they have on our body/brain system.26. Can we consciously take care of these outside factors entering our

body/brain system?27. Has brain any intelligence of its own or has it to borrow it and if so

from where?

The total idea of death and birth.

Dt. 28-04-1988.

What is our purpose in following Scientific Yoga Practices?

(a) To be entirely free from the oppression of the registration area of cortex together with the oppression of the memory pools (It means to be free from the oppression of the thinking instrument the verbal brain. It means we live our normal worldly lives peacefully without any particular restraint or being on guard i.e. life’s bitter and sudden circumstances should not throw us off balance and be called upon to make efforts to maintain an outward calm or simply panic.

(b) Later, to be free altogether from the functions of the registration area, cortex, together with the memory pool i.e. from the thinking instrument even though for a very short while, but whenever needed i.e. at will. Later this short period could be extended into long durations i.e. the verbal brain is silent.

(c) To make (b) above possible, it is obvious for that very short while we should be able to function in some other part or area of the brain. This area should be non-sensory and has to be different from the sensory area viz. Registration area, cortex, together with memory pools i.e. the thinking instrument. This is the Zen stage of “No Mind”.

(d) Finally, we must be clear in our understanding (I) of the process of learning i.e. accumulating knowledge (through the thinking instrument) and (II) knowing. The former process is sensory and later is non-sensory. It is not even a process, it is just a happening but not by chance (which can be so) but should be controlled and at will; and we must be able to experience both (I) learning and (II) knowing at will and live peacefully.

So from the beginning let our minds be clear. What do we want to achieve? At this stage of your practice please keep away from all Zen ideas. They are understandable at much higher stage only but now will only confuse you.

We want to be free from the oppression of our thinking instrument which is normally indispensable and to be able to function for a very short while in the area of knowing which is non-sensory.

16

Page 18: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

The process of learning takes place in the thinking instrument area of the brain and is a sensory process. Sensory means depending on our five senses.

Non–sensory means it does not depend on our five senses. It is not even what we call the sixth sense for a sense is sensory and is not entirely dependable.

Before we proceed further, let us clearly understand the process of learning. From birth onwards we start learning. We learn partly ourselves, partly through our home environment, partly from our school and college environment and finally from the world and people around us as we grow to adulthood.

We learn through books, lectures and through personal experience. Experience is another name for accumulated knowledge which is not through books. Learning therefore is a continuous process of loading. This loading partly can be unloaded and fresh loading can take place but this is possible only in studies that do not involve human emotions, the hard science. Our judgement and deduction depend on our total loading.

There is however a little mischief added in the general process of learning. In scientific studies, all scientists are loaded with the same loading and so they are more or less of the same opinion in their respective fields.

Where there is pure accumulated knowledge, the science concerned are pure science like chemistry, astronomy, physics, biology etc. Whenever human emotions come in, the science like psychology, sociology and history are half sciences because the emotional factor is an unknown factor which never included in pure sciences.

But in life, the learning or loading does not come in the form of pure knowledge. Most of this loading is mixed with emotions. These emotions as per circumstances could be happy or unhappy. Our ego is hurt when we experience unhappy emotions and is happy when we experience happy emotions. This mischief in turn draws us towards all learning or experiencing that would give us pleasure and make us avoid that learning and experiencing that give us unhappiness.

17

Page 19: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

This is not enough. Nature wants each species to continue and so sex emotions keep coming in also. Here also our learning and experiencing is pleasurable or not pleasurable and so we are drawn towards or we avoid certain learning or experiencing.

The worst part of this learning and experiencing is that all learning and experiencing that has been unhappy, we form a tendency of revolving again and again in our registration area with the help of memory patterns and experiencing the emotions with the hope of forgetting or finding a solution but we only become more and more sad with each repetition and we experience frustration. We then oft times want to get even with that person responsible for our unhappiness and act in a wrong manner in getting even and if we cannot do so, we live in a sort of day-dreaming that is opposite of our sad experience. Even this is not enough. Suddenly an event or word may bring to our mind an unpleasant incident and we are caught on it, as if on a hook and go through the sad experience.

These are normal oppressive functions of our thinking instrument or our verbal brain. It so happens that 70% of our learning and experiencing is sad or unpleasant and so 70% of our time we revolve the unhappy experiences and the rest of the time we get some sort of satisfaction in day-dreaming. So we are never free from the various oppressions of our thinking instrument; the verbal brain.

As we thus live and we thus experience, the unhappy emotions after some repetitions they percolate from the thinking instrument in to our body parts and organs and we suffer from various ailments. A time will soon come when medical science will be able to say from the ailments what emotions one is harbouring and to what intensity. So this is learning and we are constantly under the oppressions of our thinking instrument area aided by the memory pools. As long as the learning process is at work, our registration area and our memory pools are indispensable and we have to live under their oppression whether we like it or not. Most people resign and live under this oppression.

18

Page 20: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Some try to be free from this oppression but all the efforts to be free from this oppression are practiced in the same area and so we have no hope, whatsoever to be free. Now check on the measures we take like japa, tapa, ashram, biofeedback etc. Even to a certain extent are the corrective exercises dependent on the thinking instrument and memory pools and so by themselves will not be able to give freedom from this oppression of the thinking instrument but if aided by refining and up-grading techniques will then have great effect.

Attention is a quality of brain to properly arrange the memory patterns and to guide the memory loaded incoming impulses to the registration area (or the conscious brain) to come to an understanding or to arrive at some sort of knowledge by use of I.E.S.M. functions in the registration area, I.E.S.M. functions are the modifications of the brain.

Depending on the quality of attention (refined and/or intensity wise) will be the final learning or knowledge. Attention can favour either ‘I’ or ‘ES’. It has no specific loyalty to either. ‘I’ does not guarantee correct knowledge nor ‘ES’ could always give incorrect knowledge; but learning can be either correct or incorrect.

It is easier for ‘ES’ to recruit its (attention) services rather than for ‘I’. So normal learning could be more often wrong than right. Therefore, attention for serious matter of ‘I’ will be normally lacking and frivolous matters of ‘ES’ it (attention) could be more active.

Therefore for ordinary people, attention normally leads to trespass more easily than for more serious task of overcoming trespass. This is the process of learning. But knowledge thus gathered is totally different from knowing. Normal process of learning and gathering knowledge is the same for all life including human and lower life in various grades on our planet.

To differentiate the process of learning and gathering knowledge, we shall call this process as sensory i.e. with the help of our five senses and knowing as non-sensory i.e. does not need our five senses because knowing is free from incoming impulses, cortex and memory pools. It is instant, accurate and always dependable.

19

Page 21: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

This type of knowing is possible at one of the three vortices in the deep brain. These three vortices being near each other they form the silent area. Not even 100% of all the people all over the world however much educated can function in any one of these three vortices in our present age. These three points are dormant in almost all cases.

So we have the same tool viz.: attention for knowledge and learning or for knowing and the same tool that may help one to trespass or may help one to overcome trespass.

Mere inhibition through fear or superstition or belief may make attention inattentive and bring about the deep freez state of the brain and the moment attention is free to function, it will favour more ‘ES’ than ‘I’ in all internal struggles at being pious and will end in frustration. Modern scientific study may favour belief in cases of cure of ailments but in the long run it is very damaging.

In any one of the three vortices, there is no possibility of incorrect knowledge influenced by ‘ES’ or even ‘I’ that is overwhelmed with the ideas of religion, morals or any particular fad.

In short, avidya or ignorance has no entry in anyone of the three vortices because where there is knowledge there is possibility of ignorance also. So without any struggle at morals or at Yama and Niyama one is totally at peace and one can proceed on the path of scientific yoga in the area of knowing.

But one must first learn the technique of being free from the oppression of the thinking instrument i.e. the conscious brain for its type of learning will not allow the other type of knowing. Both learning and knowing cannot function simultaneously. Only either of the two can function at a time i.e. either the sensory type or the non-sensory type can function at a time.

Sage Patanjali describe the non-sensory knowing in very clear terms, “Perception without judicial reasoning is arrived at when memory no longer holds control, the word and the objects are transcended and only the idea is present”. (Sensory is out)

20

Page 22: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

“His perception is now unfailingly exact”. “This particular perception is unique and reveals that which the rational brain, using testimony, inference and deduction cannot reveal”. “It is opposite of and supersedes all other normal impressions”. Thus, is stated the superiority of non-sensory knowing.

So we realise that attention is indispensable whether for learning or knowing. It is also clear that we can operate the thinking instrument for learning or the silent area for knowing. If attention is the common factor in both, it is obvious, attention has to perform the task of “switching off” the I.E.S.M. functions in the registration area and “Switch on” the silent area.

Q.1. (Can a function depending on sensory type working, switch on the non-sensory area?)

Instead of doing this, we struggle with our thinking instrument the verbal brain and impose morals, religion or other so called scientific means or methods but all in this thinking instrument area which will keep accepting without imbibing and so total frustration is the only result.

So now we know that the first step is to switch off the I.E.S.M. functions. Actually I.E.S.M. by themselves can never be switched off, for like breathing, blood circulation, the movement of the diaphragm, it is constant motion and stoppage is fatal. This is a law of Nature. So they can keep whirling endlessly and all that attention has to do is bypass the I.E.S.M. i.e. the memory loaded incoming impulses that reach the the registration area for thought processing and resulting in action (mostly automatic) are to be prevented by a bypass or deducting.

For this purpose refining and upgrading of awareness is necessary. The prism excercises if properly done will enable to bypass I.E.S.M. as and when required. So practice all five exercises shown earlier.

Nature has so ordained that one of the two i.e. (1) learning or (2) knowing must work, unless a person is unconscious. If the learning process is switched off knowing begins automatically if one is not unconscious. So when we practice refining and up-grading of awareness we are simultaneously (though

21

Page 23: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

indirectly) making the dormant vortices of the silent area active so that no sooner one can switch off learning, knowing automatically commences.

Q.2. (If this is automatic, what part is played by attention?)

Attention maintains the chain of subject matter which will be explained later.

Aspirants are not guided properly and so suffer and struggle their whole life at achieving inner balance in the thinking instrument the verbal brain which is not possible; more often it is only a deep freez condition and in this category we find both the teacher and the pupil.

In our earlier notes we have stated the sutra most misunderstood,” Tireless endeavour is the constant efforts to restraint the modifications of the brain”.But the tireless endeavour is not within the registration are but with the registration area. It is not to suppress the modifications but to bypass the modifications because to bypass the I.E.S.M. is to bypass the modifications of the brain thinking area, the verbal brain. In all these practices inner dialogue is fatal.

This is to be practiced whenever one wants to be engaged in scientific yoga practices. At normal times when one lives a normal householder’s life, but with refined emotions and up-graded awareness one can function by By formula 5:2:2:1. This understanding should be fundamental. There is no need for ‘will’ or other unprofitable practices.

It is interesting to note that in yoga(as well as Geeta) no mention is made of some particular asanas or some particular pranayamas to get the effect we have described at length.

The sutras only mention, “The posture assumed must be steady and easy”. The sutras also say that there is a close relation between the posture and breathing. “When right posture has been attained (not taken) there followsControl of prana and proper inspiration and expiration of the breath”.

There are two methods both giving the same results as there are intimate link between breathing and thinking of the verbal brain.

1) One method is to bypass and silence the verbal brain to enable knowing this will result in rhythmic breathing.

22

Page 24: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

2) TThe other method is to practice and come up to atleast one hour (at a time) of the rhythmic breathing which will enable to silence the verbal brain and enable knowing.

Different temperaments can prefer different methods. The same result is; withdrawal of the sense organs.

Further the sutra say, “As a result of these means, there follows the complete withdrawal of the sense organs”.

When can the sense organs be said to be withdrawn? When sensory experience is replaced by non-sensory experience, but not by continuous struggle within the thinking instrument, the verbal brain. This is the mistake done all over the world.

Not that I am making a stupendous discovery! This has been taught ages ago but word of mouth.

A most perplexed individual is writing to you. I have been for three years endeavouring to study Theosophy. I have heard lectures, have read an immense amount of literature devoted to Theosophy, from the sages of old down to the Sonnets, Alcott’s and Blavatsky’s of the present day.

I have studied the yoga philosophy and I read the ‘Path’. Light on the Path aids me not, nor does Bhagvad Geeta and why? Because I am yet without first step towards practice.

Guide me with your friendly hints. Imagine me alone in a room. How to commence? Show me the first step upon the practical ladder! All I have heard and read seems to me so elaborately unintelligible that I lay it aside and beg you to instruct me in my Theosophical and Yoga ABC.

Astral light! Is it a figurative light, i.e. revelation? Or it light as electricity- If abstraction in to insensibility is necessary, can you instruct me upon hypnotism or self-mesmerism.

A shining object is advised to stare at! A mirror is shining object, but of what avail to stare at a mirror and see reflected ugliness.......... Adelphi.

Page 25: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

You say you have studied Yoga philosophy. This is not enough. It is in fact a most practical system if you refer to that of Patanjali Yoga Sutra and one that will meet all requirements you have in the way of difficulty; for it is one of the most difficult.

It is not possible for you to judge its merits without practice and it gives full directions. If for three years you study and practice it, you will find that you need no other.

In this matter there is no child’s play, we must absorb and work into the practice and the theory laid down, for they are written merely for the intellect, but for the whole spiritual nature.

Let the place in which you now are be the lonely room you speak of and seek to find in all things the meanings. Strive to know what they are and by what governed or caused (spiritual reading). This is the first step.

Purify your thoughts as well as your body. Reason all you can, feel all with your heart you may and when (I.E.S.M.) intellect and heart fail you, seek for something higher. This is the ABC; it is enough for the present.

The astral light is on actuality. It is not revelation, but a means through which that which causes revelation acts. All lower fires are but the reflection of astral light, just as astral light is but the darkness of ineffable light.

Abstraction into insensibility is not intended. If it had been so intended, it would be unnecessary for us to be in these bodies. If you can forget yourself sufficiently- forget that you exist as a human body; you will not need to stare at a mirror. (Prism)

But so long as you realise, when staring into a glass, whether you be pretty or ugly, you cannot reach celestial sensibility or terrestrial insensibility. (During prism exercise a thought in registration area)

Hypnotism is the controlling of other personalities. Under this you would be but a puppet, for the thought of another. Your outer self had better be a puppet, for your own thought.

We seek to make the body alive, not to kill it. (Make awareness refined and so no place for hypnotism)...............W.Q.Judge.

Dear friends,

There are some friends here who would prefer the path of Bhakti and Devotion and would appreciate if I said over time a few words along this subject.

I shall be happy to do so and now every time I shall bring for them also besides the regular notes.

But bhakti must be understood as bhakti i.e. devotion and rituals and ceremonies. Please remember that rituals and ceremonies do not go with true bhakti and devotion. This has to be very much understood.

Geeta: Chapter VII, 20, 21, 22.

“They in whom wisdom is obscure by one desire or another lesser powers, practicing many rites which vary according to their temperaments” (code and structure).

“The fruits that come to men of limited insight is, after all finite”.

“The ignorant think of Me, who am the Unmanifested Spirit, were really in human form. They do not understand that my Superior Nature is changeless and most excellent”. (Satyam)

So the question arises, bhakti and devotion to whom? Some may have idol of Rama, Krishna, Shiva, Maruti, Ganesha, Vishnu or Shakti, Laxmi, Kali, Uma and so of other religions also; and it matter if it is fire, cross or kaaba all are idols.

To be devoted to one of them, is to be devoted to some memory, some fency to some form that has come down over the ages. If you go all over India, you will find hundred different shapes of each deity.

26

Page 28: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

So to evote yourself to an imaginary shape or name is not a bhakti. All these are necessary rituals and ceremonies only and we are not concerned with them.

At the least misfortune or expected misfortune, we run to the temples and perform or promise to perform some rituals and ceremonies or offerings, as if such rituals or ceremonies can prevent or hear. Do we not want to live with dignity and with some principle?

We are mature human beings and must know and believe what the Geeta says, Chapter II, 16. “That which is not, shall never be, that which is, shall never cease to be. To the wise, these truths are self-evident”

But we must not also be without a backbone and say what is to happen will happen and so why try? Here also the Geeta is very clear: Chapter II, 47. “But thou hast only the right to work, but none to the fruit thereof. Let not then the fruit of thy action be not thy motive, nor be thou enamoured of incarnation”.

We must do our best and put in our best efforts and then let things happen. About ceremonies and rituals Geeta says, “Consulting only their desires, they construct their own heavens, devising arduous and complex rites to secure their own pleasure and their own power, but the only result is rebirth”. This is all the work of priest class all over the world in all the religions.

But the common person is so confused because so much is written and said in the name of scriptures and shastras that one is perplexed, not knowing what is right and what is wrong, what is to be done and what is not to be done.

Geets Chapter II 53, says “When thy intellect, bewildered, by the multiplicity of holy scripts, stand unperturbed in blissful contemplation of the Infinite, then hest thou attained spirituality”. This is possible only through bhakti and devotion and it is this path we are going to take.

How shall we go about? There is nothing like Geeta to guide those who wish to take the true path of bhakti and there is nothing like yoga sutra for those

27

Page 29: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

who wish to take the path of higher scientific yoga practices. Both leads to the same objective, identical, as we shall soon find out but it depends on your inherent structure and code.

On both these paths, whatever you will sincerely do will always be your treasure, for many a time we feel dejected to find no obvious progress. Geeta Chapter II 40. “On this path, endeavour is never wasted, nor can it be futile. Even a very little of its practice protects one from great danger”.

It is welcome to know that Geeta gives importance to developed and refined attention as do the yoga sutras. Geeta Chapter II 66.”Right discrimination is not for him who has not developed attention: without due attention, there cannot be achieved, the meditative attitude and he who cannot achieve the meditative attitude must not expect peace and without peace how one can expect happiness?”

Meditative attitude is very much different from meditation. It is the art of doing nothing, the most difficult thing to do whenever we want to and however long we want to. But our human nature does not allow that for we always want to do something; something physical, mental or emotional. More we shall discuss later.

The whole philosophy of Geeta is based on Chapter III 16&17: “Thus he who does not help the receiving wheel of Samsar, but instead, leads a sinful life, rejoicing in the gratification of the senses, O Arjuna, he breaths in vain”.

“On the other hand, the person who meditates, (has developed the meditative attitude) on the Self, is content to serve the Self and rest satisfied in the Self, there remains nothing more for him to accomplish”. This is the true meditative attitude described that we shall work to develop. The yoga sutra also lay great emphasis on meditative attitude.

But to begin with, this being the first day, I will stress on performing the six refining exercises each for one minute and go slowly up to four minutes each.

Ofcourse continue with your three step rhythmic breathing and try to increase by five minutes every fortnight so that you extend the period. It is going to be of great help during the meditative attitude.

Dear friends,

Our year begins in June and ends in April, the year of our inner development. I would, that we all make this year, our year of spiritual experiences! Your earnest and your whole hearted application is therefore most essential.

I have given you various practices. If you have performed them sincerely, you will find how easy it is to join them and with a little change; fresh exercises can be developed that will prove beneficial and these will be shown also.

I hope, till now, you must have done all that I have asked you to do. If you have not or not sufficiently, please come in the ranks of those who have done sincerely and sufficiently. I am still waiting for some of you to come up but I will not be able to wait indefinitely, as not enough time is left.

The regrets will be yours if you find yourself left behind somebody! I do not want that to happen if I can help it. I do believe that there are many things essential in life, the most important being earning one’s bread and in many cases besides long hours of work, there may be in addition, two to three hours of transport, thus leaving one, weak and exhausted. I do and must give due thought to this, but even then these practices being supreme importance, we have to smilingly find time, for who knows after this year June-April we may or may not have another year to go along together.

I have also to draw your attention to two more obstacles (1) your health may be giving you constant trouble (2) your circumstances may be taking your mind repeatedly to your misfortune and sad emotions experienced but I repeat, do not waste a day henceforth, for this practices and those that will be shown will give you health and change your misfortune! But you must keep these negative thought aside!

Have you done chest fast breathing and abdominal fast breathing and sitting on ground, legs stretched in front and chest and abdominal fast breathing? If you have been doing each of them for half a minute, now do, each of them for three to four minutes and soon be ready for new experience. But you must do them daily and please do not forget the other three refining exercises and now do them for one minute each.

30

Page 32: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Please remember my stress on fast breathing which is also to be deep and three step rhythmic breathing to be established as correct breathing in place of our present incorrect breathing for all twenty four hours. Later we shall create some new experience from all these. But we will go step by step.

I also want to clarify some wrong notions. The Zen doctrine as expounded by some writers who lay stress on “sudden happening” and refuse to accept any progressive state on the part of the disciple.

Even if this were possible i.e. if one can break through the portals of Heaven and enter there, but if we do without due preparation (of refinement and up-grading) the result can be either (a) for the rest of one’s life one will be insane (b) for the rest of the one’s life one will be vegetable. Hence, my care to take you slowly. Do not be too eager to follow this or that.

But in the absence of first-hand experience of the inner changes that take place progressively (never all of a sudden) these writers maintain that these changes that take place are successively and not progressive.

Darwin in his theory of evolution of species, found successive changes taking place, but they were a result of progressive environmental changes that stretched over very long period measured in millions of years. Then only seem successive with “missing links” when examined much later.

It so happens that an individual works sincerely but is unaware of the inner progressive changes, since such changes are beyond one’s threshold of awareness and whose awareness is generally low. But some day such accumulated changes do burst upon us, so we get the idea that it all can only be sudden.

Most Zen practitioners do not experience any sudden realisation though many claim and even compose a few gathas, but all such get merely a mental concept, which is not realisation.

Therefore Sage Patanjali makes this arguable point clear when he says, “these practices and methods are not the true cause of the transfer of

31

Page 33: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

awareness (from 3rd grade to 1st grade) but they serve to remove obstacles, just as a husbandman prepares his soil for growing (sowing)”.

How is the soil prepared? Does this preparation of the soil give harvest? No. But without due preparation of the soil the harvest may be totally lost. If the soil is hard; if weeds are growing profusely harvest in that soil is not possible. The computerised organism i.e. the body/brain system is the soil and let us see what obstacles are there for us to remove.

Also let us be clear in our understanding, that the Divine Fragment, which is a fragment of Divine Wholeness, is God Almighty within each one of us. But as long as this Divine Fragment is encased within a body (be it physical, astral, mental) we have the same problem i.e. obstacles of some sort that are to be removed and the soil to be prepared.

Here some do argue and very rightly that no one has confirmed the presence of Divine Fragment within and we have only a theory and a belief that It is there; like the theory and belief of science that there are humanity bearing planets in the Universe with intelligent life, but all these have to be proved.

So we shall leave the talk of Divine Fragment alone. We shall only deal with our computerised organism, i.e. body/brain system and see how best we can refine and upgrade, so that each one of you can experience at first the equally unknown and unfelt astral or emotional body (Karan Sarira) and then communicate with your Divine Fragment and get first hand experience. But all this will be individual experience only, so be sincere and active to experience all these sooner or later depending on your efforts.

The final stage of our understanding should be that realisation that seems sudden is nothing but the first time an internal communication is established and the same is registered in the thinking instrument of the computerised organism which is the soil.

Sage Patanjali calls Divine Fragment, Ishwara, or Gurudeva. It is also true that in case of Divine Fragment there is nothing to achieve, there can be no

32

Page 34: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

ideas of progress and there is no need of practices and methods, since it is Ishwara!

So we keep before us the great sentence of the shastras, “there is ‘Self’ an there is ‘not self’ and the relation between the two”. This relation has to be experienced.

In this regards Sage Patanjali says,” These two, consciousness (Self) and form(not self) are distinct and separate. Though forms may be similar, the consciousness may function on different levels of awareness”. (Why?)

So we shall enumerate the obstacles that are to be removed as stated in the sutras “The obstacles to Soul Cognition are bodily disability, mental inertia, wrong questioning, carelessness, laziness, lack of dispassion, erroneous perception (hallucination), inability to achieve meditative attitude when achieved.

First note-‘Soul Cognition’.The purpose of our efforts. Then note-“failure to achieve meditative attitude and when achieved”. It is a lifetime’s effort to achieve meditative attitude and yet one may not be able to hold!? Why? Search and find out!

In our next meeting we shall clarify this meditative attitude that both Geeta and Sastras talk of. We will practice methods and techniques to achieve meditative attitude.

Please note that meditative attitude is quite different from meditation as understood normally and is far superior to meditation.

Further the sutra says, “Pain, despair, misplaced bodily activity (practicing unwanted asanas and other activity) and wrong direction of prana or life current (wrong present breathing etc.) are the result of obstacles in the lower psychic nature”.

(What is lower psychic nature? Code, structure, unrefined emotions, low awareness, plus uncultured attention).

He further says,” To overcome the obstacles and their accompaniments the intense application of (cultured) attention to someone Truth or Principle is required”.

33

Page 35: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

What is this Truth or Principle? That body/brain system is the ‘not self’ or form and communication with inner ‘Self’ is to be established resulting in Soul Cognition and if some obstacles are present and prevent this Soul Cognition, they should be removed, but not indulge in false religiosity, philosophy, ashram, bio feedback, ESP and beliefs.

We have noted in our earlier notes that the five functions are the real hindrances that give rise to kama (passion), krodha(anger), lobha(greed), moha(enticement) and aham (egotism); for in fact they are the results of the five functions, (if not set right) are the real hindrances, viz. Brooding, drift, impulse/reaction, habit, day dreaming; all of these work through the IESM in the registration area and pollute the clean river of thoughts, but in ancient language and in ancient days, they only mentioned the five corrupt emotions and impressed the disciple that he should be free from them and hence were discovered the corrective exercises.

Finally, the Sutra says, “these are difficulty producing hindrances, avidya (ignorance of what?), sense of personality, desires, hate and sense of attachment” (to people, places and objects)

So you see the soil needs a lot of preparation for it has obstacles and hindrances to prevent ‘Soul Cognition’. There is profuse growth of weeds that prevent any chance of illumination.

So how shall we go about?

(1) We must first have a principle. (2) See that obstacles are removed with methods. (3) See that hindrances are set aside.

These three steps will prepare the soil for sowing. Then we have to sow the proper seeds and water the soil if rain is not naturally received then it is in the hands of Nature to give us good harvest.

Sometimes it so happens that in spite of all these steps, if it be our 5% unavoidable destiny when nature may still destroy the harvest, then it is not our subject now.

34

Here in passing I am requesting you all to follow sincerely the three prism exercises. They develop the most powerful weapon attention which will later help us to bring about the meditative attitude.

If you have had a measure of success with the three prism exercises please work on the other two without prism. What progress with six refining exercises and three step rhythmic breathing and three asanas and other exercises?

Let me make some vital points clear. Whether it is bhakti yoga or higher yoga practices, attention as a sixth sense not to be understood in the normal sense of attention which means to be attentive to a subject or object.

Misunderstood as such, attention then is degraded and made a hand-maid of the five senses, where attention is far superior to all the five senses put together at their best and even ESP and SSP.

Attention is very often translated by scholars as concentration, which is also not correct because it (concentration) is quite different faculty. Concentration helps one for some specific yoga practices and experience.

But attention refined and developed can reach us the Holy Ground and that is the end purpose of yoga but then at that stage attention is described as meditative attitude.

Meditation itself is to be properly understood. The trouble with writers and scholars is that they write without first-hand experience. Meditation is an extension of concentration faculty and also helps for some specific yoga practices and experience, but more complicated and difficult than concentration. When words concentration and meditation are used for some specific yoga experiences, the words dharna and dhyana are to be used and not otherwise.

So we must be clear when we say:

1. Attention-undeveloped used with one of the five senses.2. Attention-developed and refined-is a meditative attitude. It is higher

than any type of meditation.3. Concentration, used for specific yoga experience-Dharna.4. Meditation, used for specific yoga experience more difficult yoga

experience than dharna-dhyana.

Refined and developed attention can help us to do the near impossible-inwardly to do nothing - to be in a real state of “No-mind” and yet we are engaged in our daily obligations.

During exercise stage, this state is for a few seconds and then minutes but then fully developed, one remain in this state, in this glorious state, called meditative attitude, for the whole time.

Like three step rhythmic breathing, which at first time is an exercise but one day, it is for all twenty-four hours and it will then co-inside with that glorious state of meditative attitude.

Such a person is described beautifully in Geeta Chapter V (8): “Though the saint (one who has attained meditative attitude) sees, hears, touches, smells, eats, moves, sleeps and breaths, yet he knows the truth, and he knows that it is not he who acts”.The computerised organism keeps acting but because of meditative attitude, he is in the Holy Ground at all times and is in communication with the Cosmic World.

Such meditative attitude once gained should not be lost. How shall we achieve this meditative attitude? For you friends especially I will suggest a simple method.

We all know the episode of Radhe-Krishna from the shastras. Whether it was a historical fact or not I cannot say for sure, but I can assure that it was and is a symbolic episode.

What are the symbols here? Radhe is the computerised organism i.e. our physical body and Krishna is the spirit as stated in Geeta, the Divine Fragment within as we know.

Mirabai’s bhajans are famous for expressing this thought. Radhe, gives her love, devotion and bhakti to Krishna and Krishna in return gives love, care, protection and guidance.

So try three step rhythmic breathing by pronouncing Radhe as you breath in, prolong a little of Radhe and exhale pronouncing Krishna-also prolong a little.

Do three step rhythmic breathing and also time this japa of Radhe-Krishna. The Self-reside in the heart when one is awake and is in the Holy Ground when one is a sleep at night.

37

Page 39: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Keep looking into your heart with your eyes closed and continue the japa. As you increase the period of three step rhythmic breathing your japa can be that much longer.

Sage Patanjali says, “Through the sounding of the word (now the word of japa are given) and through reflection upon its meaning (the meaning of Radhe-Krishna is also given) the way is found”.

Further he says, “From this, comes the realisation of the Self (Soul Cognition) and the removal of all obstacles”

But one must develop and refine attention and must raise attention to the stage of meditative attitude so that it can help us enter the Holy Ground and yet we can simultaneously carry on with our daily obligations.

If you ignite the silent area during day, you will get the benefit of this at night when you are asleep.

I would therefore request you friends, to daily carry on with the six refining exercises and one prism exercise to develop and refine attention and bring it to the stage of meditative attitude.

Increase the period of three step rhythmic breathing by five minutes every fortnight and with it the japa of Radhe-Krishna; synchronising japa with breathing.

Repeat the japa whenever you find time and also your three step breathing-repeat with your eyes closed and looking into your heart to see the play of Radhe-Krishna. Try to time it properly to the rhythmic breathing.

And dear friends what will you see? (Do not imagine) But one day you must see only profound darkness, inky blackness. Remember only Radhe can see Krishna or only Arjuna can see Krishna. We know both Radhe and Krishna or also Arjuna are symbolic.

But each one of you can be Radhe or Arjuna and with pure devotion and Bhakti, if you call upon Krishna, you will see Him, but please do not imagine Him, for he has not got anyone of the forms depicted in the whole world.

When you will really see Him, you will know what shape, colour and texture, He has got or He has not got-and please do not tell anyone of your experience.

Dt. 21-07-1988 (2)

In this Kaliyuga, (the iron age) a person on an average experiences 70% of unfortunate days and 30% of fortunate days. Those above or below this average could be classed as more unfortunate or more fortunate.

This being the case, an average person is 70% under stress and strain and tension each day. This it builds up a person’s negative side of life.

From this eventuate (a) bodily ill-health (b) oppression of the thinking instrument along with memory pool. These are the main obstacles; especially the oppression of the thinking instrument which keeps churning nonstop thoughts and we are not free even for a moment because incoming impulses from objects and persons around us keep pouring in at the rate of 120 per pulse beat and we keep forming thoughts unconsciously at the same rate. (Un-consciously meaning we are unaware of this process.)

This process creates reaction in us constantly and cause of reaction is our emotions and ego. If it is hurt we are unhappy. Over a period it amounts the ill effect of our reactions and the body/brain system is affected and we suffer from tension and various ailments.

Upto a point, Nature has given us (i.e. built in our body/brain system) the immunisation system which take care of our stress and tension and pains and our mood behaviour, but in turn our immunising system break down due to over load. Yoga calls this immunising system, the corrective system.

As yet, there is no sure cure for repairing it quickly or at all or keeping it healthy constantly either by allopathic, homeopathy, or by any scientific positive faultless system.

If thoughts slowdown from the regular rate from outside incoming impulses, it is because ideas and emotions stored in memory pool flow into the registration area and we indulge in either brooding or day dreaming, most often brooding, which is even worse than indulging in incoming thoughts. The result is same and equally damaging.

40

Page 42: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

The horrible oppression of our thinking instrument is most humiliating, because in spite of all our brave efforts we fail miserably. Useless are our prayers and our knowledge and equally helpless is our will.

This oppression of the thinking instrument Sage Patanjali rightly says, “The state of bondage is overcome through perfectly maintained discrimination.”

Discrimination has other meanings but in context to the sutra, it means meditative attitude that is developed and established. There are two ways of developing and establishing this meditative attitude.

(a) The most powerful and unfailing method that develops and establishes this meditative attitude is the three step rhythmic breathing for all twenty-four hours. This breathing must become as a natural as our present wrong breathing.

(b) The other I have shown you, six refining exercises, one of the prism exercise that is mastered and then proceeding further with the others.

This oppression of non-stop working of the thinking instrument creates in due course, fear and doubts and some of the fears hold us trembling. At the mention of a word or seeing a person or object (cobra) we are frozen with fear and our sanity is lost.

At this stage, a philosopher or a scholar is no better than an ignorant person. Do what we may we are paralysed for some time so that fear becomes strongly entrenched in us and no amount of spirituality (false) or prayers, religion, philosophy or inner dialogue can help or will help.

A non-stop as this oppression is, equally non-stop should be our three step rhythmic breathing to counter all ill effects and keep our immunising system in proper working order to be of help to us.

It is the same with our negative emotions, that hurt and insults we may have experienced, our defeats in the material world, all as memory of our unfortunate and sad past.

The brooding that is started time and again from such data fed in our memory pool is so overpowering, making us miserable time and again, even when where is no need of becoming thus miserable.

41

Page 43: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

The preachers and philosophers advise us to live in the present, the living ‘Now’, i.e. not to brood and go into the past and not to day-dream and go into the future. But it is easy to advice without showing the proper means and methods.

So it just happens and nothing seems to help. See if you can call upon your ‘will’ to help you and so grind your teeth and clench your fists!!

Such repeated happenings lead to body and mind inertia that we cannot shake off and so form further serious obstacles, for we are then in no mood to practice recommended techniques. They even lead to pain and despair.

We then seek books, gurus, ashrama, yoga schools and run from one to the other because real teaching and training is not easily available.

We fail because (1) right methods are not shown to us (2) we believe more in this form or body as the Self, (sense of personality) so we then go from pillar to post and search to find some remedy, but none to be good enough.

We even load ourselves i.e. our brain with a great amount of knowledge, which itself then become an instrumentable obstacle by itself. At the best we can quote freely to show how much we know, but all that we know is a huge load.

Whilst in fact dear friends we have to empty our boat of this entire load. Boat is our thinking instrument, and memory pool (the data fed) is the load and our boat in many cases is loaded to near sinking condition which is our so called knowledge, which we have so painstakingly gathered!!

If you do not want to sink in this ocean of Samsar, with your boat and with the load of your accumulated knowledge, just empty the boat, throw “all and everything” into the waters.

You will agree that to exist on this planet we have been given five senses and a thinking instrument with which we have to find our way, right or wrong. It generally is wrong and past memory accumulation makes it more difficult to be right.

42

Page 44: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

“So runs my dream; but what am I?

An infant crying in the night (darkness)

An infant crying for the light (illumination)

And with no languages, but a cry!

............-Alfred Lord Tennyson.

So you see the mind and brain cries but only with the language of a cry! Proper guidance is necessary to remove avidya- and this is not available!

So how shall we take care of our sensory processes i.e. five senses, memory pool, and the thinking instrument or verbal brain. If we can take care of our sensory processes and can simultaneously correct our wrong accumulation! But this is never ending method, time consuming. It needs innumerable lives and yet we may not be free from its oppression. It is nearly impossible.

So we must find a centre within us which may work on non-sensory basis. If this is not possible then let us forget about correction or progress.

If there is such a non-sensory centre (we call it Holy Ground), then there should be means available to link the sensory to non-sensory or be able to jump from the sensory to the non-sensory.

An actually powerful weapon, a developed sixth sense, so to say, that is far above the five senses and our thinking instrument, which can help us is the developed and refined “attention” which now has become our meditative attitude.

Even ESP and SSP are mere sensory perceptions, so we need to contact the the non-sensory centers for non-sensory happenings.

Suppose, if you wish to communicate with Cosmic Infinite Mind or higher still, with your own Divine Self or Divine Fragment (Soul Cognition as Sage Patanjali says) and get first-hand experience, who else can help us?

43

Page 45: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

But our first step is to remove obstacles and set aside hindrances. In our last meeting I had asked you to carry on with fast breathing exercises for three to four minutes, each of the three fast breathing exercise (go slowly, increase gently)

If you have not done or have not come to three or four minutes for each, please do. I am still waiting for those who are slow to come up, who are holding others who are sincere and practicing regularly. Time is running out; please awake to your responsibility.

After doing all these, do the same three exercises for three to four minutes in reverse order; but not if you have not come upto three or four minutes as stated earlier wiz; (1) to sit on floor, legs stretched in front, hold toes and fast and deep breathing chest and abdomen; chin up. (2) Followed by fast and deep abdominal breathing and (3) followed by fast and deep chest breathing.

I also hope three step rhythmic breathing is now 35 or 40 minutes at a stretch!? Those who are not doing this much please come up and join others, for the next steps, that will be shown in subsequent meetings will leave some of you behind and I do not want that to happen If I can help it.

Here a question was raised in the last meeting as to how to know we are doing it correctly. If you are not doing correctly, you will feel very tired. If you get a feeling of tiredness, (instead of one of brightness and energy) it can be (a) you are doing incorrectly (b) you are doing for longer period than your muscles and tissues can bear it. Always use a stop watch and keep eyes closed. It will help your concentration on breathing.

We have stated earlier that attention is a tool for knowledge accumulation, is also a tool or means to help commit trespass, and finally a means to help us to overcome trespass and then help us to link the sensory to non-sensory centre within us. What a powerful weapon it is and so we must develop and refine it as much as possible.

By sharpening the intellect it helps to accumulate knowledge, by sharpening interest in base emotions it helps us to trespass and finally when developed and refined, it itself becomes the meditative attitude that helps us to overcome all trespass.

44

Page 46: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

This is why Geeta Chapter IV (36); it says, “Be thou the greatest of all sinners, yet thou shall cross over all sin by the ferry boat of wisdom. (Code and structure).Unless you have the wisdom to cultivate ‘attention’ to the status of meditative attitude and use it as a weapon to overcome all trespass, nothing will help.

I have also repeatedly requested you all to be free from all preconceived notions. There should be no beliefs, blind adherence to falls religiosity. Because though attention is such a powerful weapon it can be reduced to impotency by false religiosity or i.e. false surrender, so the registration area and memory at large should be kept disinfected from such thoughts.

Ashtrasachtra:

We repeat the sutra, “Perception without judicial reasoning arrived at, when memory no longer holds control, the word and the objects are transcended and only the idea is present”.

Can there be any perception free from memory? Such person can only be non-sensory. Judicial reasoning and memory, words and objects all point to sensory perception and of the thinking instrument aided by the five senses and memory pool. But Sage Patanjali talking about a perception free from all these which is a non-sensory.

He writes in the language of his time and we translate these in the language of our time, yet Truth cannot be different.

Further he says about this non-sensory perception, “His perception is now unfailingly exact. This particular perception is unique and reveals that which the logical (mind) brain using testimony, inference and deduction cannot reveal. It is opposite of (sensory to non-sensory) and supersedes all other perceptions”

So we develop and refine our attention and exercises, I have shown you are the three prism exercises and two without prism, be regular and get measure of success. If you are doing fast deep breathing exercises and other three refining exercises sincerely and regularly you will soon find a change coming.

45

Page 47: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

In prism exercise you do only one at a time i.e. if you have a measure of success with first, go to the second till you reach up to fifth. Then increase your measure of success from twenty or thirty seconds to two to three minutes.

Please all of you awake if not for your sake, at least for mine!

Let us take the Sutra, “Tireless endeavour is the constant effort to restraint (by-pass) the modifications of the thinking instrument.”

Remember endeavour should be tireless and every time you find that you are falling under the oppression of the thinking instrument, which is constantly aided by the incoming impulses coming through the five senses and the memory pool, the effort is at once to shift from the sensory to the non-sensory and come refreshed and live your normal life once more.

But this is possible if all that is shown to you is done by you. Realisation is the stage arrived at when easily and peacefully we can shift from sensory to non-sensory because we know today that in the whole wide world there not one single method that can restraint the modification of the thinking instrument.

46

Dt. 25-08-1988 (1)

What we call incoming impulses, Dr.King calls food. He calls incoming impulses food, for each impulse is the smallest measure of energy. These impulses as Dr. King says enter our body/brain system at the rate of 30,000/- per second. So these are tiny measures of energies, electrical, magnetic, psychic, emotional, intellect and even nuclear depending on the stage of the individual!

So oral food is least important, air with prana loaded is even better food and incoming impulses are even better food and this intake is continuous all twenty four hours as the intake of air, prana loaded is. If this intake of air, prana loaded could be refined by three step rhythmic breathing for 24 hours what enormous benefit can reach us!

Further Dr. King says that at best we make use of the impulses 34% of total intake, the remaining 66% just leaks out of the human system. Even instruments cannot trace this leakage.

Scientific yoga has over the last thousands of years shown the way of preventing leakage and making use of this enormous potential which leaks out.

This leakage has direct link with the working of I.E.S.M. As long as I.E.S.M work; so long the leakages continues and so making proper use of this potential is not possible. So by-pass plus something is necessary. See diagram IIIc.

We have mentioned earlier about ‘attention’ being the sixth sense if developed properly it compensate for the inadequacy of our five senses, the memory pool and the working of the thinking instrument.

You will notice that developed attention is opposite of the working of the senses, memory, I.E.S.M. function put together for it cannot be handed, if developed, set aside the incoming impulses loaded with memory and creates a by-pass and keeps the I.E.S.M idle and therefore should only then can we take measure to make use of this enormous leakage. This stage is also elementary.

47

Page 49: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

We know and have experienced that we live our lives on this planet by making use of our five senses together with memory pool and the thinking instrument. And Nature has wisely provided so to give us the eternally moving life’s panorama. If today we have fallen under the oppression of this process it is our fault and it should be our endeavour to once again have the upper hand.

But we know not of any other way of surviving. Our experience has been far from happy, is also not Nature’s fault. The way we are living all over the world today, we have not experienced freedom from want, ill health, violence, diseases, doubts, fears, and uncertainties.

We have not been able to live a full and happy and a serene life. We are not able to find proper and immediate correct answers to our problems. Attention if used sometime is only to sharpen one of the senses, normally the intellect. This way attention is degraded.

But we know attention can be developed and up-graded and cultured to act as sixth sense by itself. It is then really to be used for higher practices of scientific yoga. It can then make our normal life not only peaceful but also meaningful.

You all by now know what the thinking instrument part of the brain is? The five sense organs with sense absorb incoming impulses and flow through the bundle of nerves that pass through the spinal cord and reach the rear brain. It is all a non-stop process and extremely fast for us to register and is supposed to be blocked at the medulla oblongata for peaceful sleep at night.

You may have observed that when one is falling to sleep, the neck gives way and the head falls to anyone side. This is when at the medulla oblongata or lower rear brain the connection with the rest of the body is disconnected. Then the small brains in the body system (the glands) take over the upkeep of the body during sleep.

This is why loading the stomach with food after 4 p.m. local time or maximum after sunset is not good.

48

Page 50: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

We have our left mid-brain for upkeep of the body/brain system and right mid-brain (a part of it) for artists and inventors and the rest is more or less unused.

Of course all prophets, many saints and those who have established the meditative attitude and who can maintain it for all 24 hours, the vaster possibilities, super human, are open to them of the right mid-brain.

Unfortunately, the working of the Holy Ground right mid brain is so lofty that individuals refuse to believe that it comes from their own brain- so they attribute it all to God- Angles- departed spirits etc.

So more or less we do not make constructive use of our marvellous brain, whatever that is besides the thinking instrument area of the brain but which is more or less automatic and aided by such automatic functions as habit, drifts, impulse/reaction, so that our thinking and acting is merely automatic reflex action type.

All our so called logical and rational thinking is nothing but putting our memory cassette in proper order and our accumulated knowledge well arranged. Our logical and rational thinking can give us no inspiration or fore knowledge of events etc.

But there is a meeting Ground of the body/brain system with the Cosmic World through the Holy Ground even before one is able to make use of the vast right mid-brain; and we deal only with a very tiny area. This area is a holy ground. The remaining area of the right mid-brain is also the Holy Ground but for a long time to come it will remain dormant for the human race!

So in this tiny area, the Holy ground, there are no waves that can be measured. Here in this area no incoming impulses nor memory patterns ever reach, nor all the poignant and/or happy emotions do so ever reach and hence it is as silent as the cosmic world to our five senses and to our brain and to our sophisticated instruments.

49

Page 51: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Silent, not that nothing happens there, much can and does happen there, but silent only because we are not able to register with all our faculties. If this tiny area can do so much for us, what can a person not do when the mass of brain in the right mid-brain which is so or more powerful than this tiny area the Holy Ground, if activated.

If this Holy Ground is provided by God and Nature to human beings, it is surely for some great use. But how can it be made possible if we live today worse than wild animals do. Watch the behaviour of the people all over the world!!

If some use is possible, reaching that area is possible, and if reaching that area is possible, then means to that end ought to be possible; not taking into consideration for time being the mass of right mid-brain.

Nevertheless such means are not false religiously or spirituality, ashram, Himalayas, Sanyas, monastery, seeking solitude, nor the five senses, memory, or thinking instrument and of course not our accumulated knowledge, bio feedbacketc. etc.

The means as a first step is the employment of developed and refined attention which unlike the five senses makes no noise. But to eliminate noise, one should be able to do nothing, seemly and in the early stages for a few moments and later extending to minutes and hours- -internally!

Only Geeta has talked about this seeming doing nothing. How to know whether a person is very active within and seemingly inactive on the surface or looking very active on the surface but not able to dive within and act. Geeta: Chapter IV (15) (17),

“What is action and what is inaction? It is a question which has bewildered the wise. But I declare unto thee the philosophy of action and knowing it thou shall be freeing from evil, for mysterious is the law of action.” Many persons parrot like quote, “He who can see inaction in action and action in inaction is the wisest among men. He is a saint, even though he still acts”. Geeta Chapter XVIII (8). To avoid an action through fear of physical or mental suffering, because it is likely to be painful, is to act from passion and benefit of renunciation will not follow.”

50

Page 52: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

I hope by now you have practiced, deep and fast, three breathings of the refining exercises for at least three minutes each and also have practiced the reverse order. By no means forget the other refining exercises either. These are all priceless.

I hope all of you have come up. I am still waiting for those who are yet behind. Please redoubt your efforts. Do you know what Sage Patanjali has to say? “When the object to be gained is sufficiently valued, the efforts towards its attainment are persistently followed, without intermission, then the steadiness of the brain is secured.”

Steadiness of the brain is the silence in the brain, doing nothing seemingly, that is brought about by a by-pass of memory loaded incoming impulses that reach the registration area and the I.E.S.M. centres working of which makes noise.

And we have not yet touched the mass of right mid-brain which is as big as the Universe!!

Sage Patanjali gives hope, “When the means to yoga have been steadily practiced and when impurity has been overcome (refinement and upgrading techniques) enlightenment takes place, leading to full illumination”.

To achieve the meditative attitude, prism exercises are very necessary. Attention is not a material thing, nor the five senses, memory and the incoming impulses, I mean they are subtle that cannot ordinarily be seen or touched so that we can pick them up and throw them out of the body/brain system. But some of the techniques and methods that I have given you when properly applied will do exactly the same thing i.e. throw them out of your body/brain system.

To reach the Holy Ground is to touch the Cosmic World. I have yet not thought fit to show you techniques to ignite the right mid-brain. We shall propel “attention” with greater and greater momentum and shall also ignite by certain exercises the higher energies in our body/brain system which is today dormant in us.

We shall first make use of methods and techniques of moderate force. Our body/brain system must not be damaged or torn apart by unwise and hasty steps. I will show to you Exercises I which may do if refining exercises 1, 2, and 3 have been done for three minutes each and also reverse.

Dt. 25-08-1988 (2)

We, dear friends, are on the path of true devotion and bhakti and so we set aside i.e. refuse to recite prayers either from book or orally, also all rituals and all ceremonies. This requires strength to follow without argument but can weak person realise? Can weak person even dream of illumination?

Those who wish to see and experience the Naked Truth must be prepared totally disintegrate and blow their minds and return their bodies to the five elements of Nature!

True devotion to whom? God is a vague word. No Devas exist nor does Devil exist. It is all later added in scriptures. But these scriptures and shastras are for common persons who are eager and believe in rites, rituals and ceremonies, their belief in Hell and Heaven and the PrituLoka! ?You who are true devotees, who with devotion and bhakti want to be illuminated someday, you will not play with all these ideas added to shastras by the priest class. It happens in every religion all the world over but we must set aside this type of orthodox religion.

When Marry Baker visited her sick cousin, she found her reciting prayers from the Bible, but also found her in extreme pain and discomfort and in bed.

Marry Baker asked her to stop her prayers and instead some deep breath and at every exhalation to forget and forgive the persons who she believed had wronged her.

But her cousin was very angry. She in anger told Baker that, she was indeed in company of the Devil to tell her to stop her prayers. Besides, she argued, how could Baker even know of the hurt and injustice she had experienced. It would be better for Baker to close her mouth or get out! She did not know that Baker had suffered and experienced even worse than her.

All that Baker told her cousin then was that she could keep her prayers, her pain, her discomfort along with her frightful memories of the hurt and insult and injustice or she can get up and leave the bed, healthy, smiling, truly

forgiving everyone and know also what true prayer was! She then left her cousin’s house for there was no response.

Radhe- Krishna, Radhe-Shyam- have you practiced the japa with three step rhythmic breathing totally synchronising. Truly if you have not done and properly time both as explained in the last meeting.

Have you kept your eyes closed? Have you searched your heart for Krishna? I only hope you have not imagined anything, for then will defeat the purpose. Remember only the symbolic Radhe or Arjuna can see Krishna. But fortunately any one of your friends can be a true devoted Radha or Arjuna!

In the Geeta- chapter-II (60), It says how one cannot control the thinking instrument without proper practices, “O, Arjuna! The mind (brain) of him, who is trying to conquer it, is forcibly carried away in spite of his efforts, by his tumultuous senses”. Geeta- chapter II (58) says, “He who can withdraw his senses from attraction of their objects, as a tortoise withdraws his limbs within the shell, and take it that such a one has attained perfection”.

This is the beautiful language of ancient Geeta. In our days we have seen the oppression of thinking instrument (tumultuous senses). This we denote with the animal ratio 2:4:8:2: and then when we have developed and refined attention to rise to the scale of the meditative attitude by certain practices, so that the memory loaded incoming impulses are by passed from I.E.S.M. centres- it is like “ as a tortoise draws his limbs within the shell”.

After practicing refining exercises, three step rhythmic breathing, mastery over prism exercises and to all these we add the japa of Radhe - Krishna-Radhe-Shyam, keeping our eyes closed and searching our hearts for Krishna and timing our japa. The Geeta- chapter II (61) says, “Restraining senses, let him meditate steadfastly on me; for he who thus conquer his senses, achieves perfection”. To us Krishna is our individual Divine Fragment and we say bypass for restraining and we too preserve our meditative attitude (meditation is a wrong translation) and with japa of Radhe-Krishna—Radhe - Shyam with eyes closed we search for him in our hearts.

54

The Geeta most beautifully explains the bypass and also the meditative attitude achieved in chapter II (70) “He attains peace, into whom desires flow as rivers into the ocean, which though brimming with water remains ever the same, not he whom desires carry away.”

Please note that there is no absence of desires; (incoming impulses loaded with memory patterns- the river of thought) but they flow out at point No 8 in to the atmosphere and are not worked upon by I.E.S.M. in theregistration area (which is the ocean for the river of thoughts) and so remains ever the same and so desires do not carry away such a person.

We have always maintained that one can never stop this river of thoughts, nor can one ever make the mind (the brain) empty of thoughts but by a bypass one can maintain peace within. (Even this is an elementary state)

We have always used the phrase, “river of thoughts” and the ocean where it pours into, is the registration area and desires we have described as incoming impulses loaded with memory patterns, ceaselessly making us act.

But then like Arjuna we may also say, Geeta- Chapter III (11), “Thy language perplexes and confuses me. If wisdom is above action why do Thou advise me action”. Or in chapter IV (1), “At one moment thou praises renunciation of action, at another right action. Tell me truly which of these is the more conductive to my welfare”. Or in chapter XII (1) “Which are the better devotees who worship Thee? Those who try to know Thee as a personal God or those worship Thee as Impersonal”.

In our language you may say, “You are perplexing and confusing us. If the path of bhakti and devotion is better, why make us go through the practices and techniques?

Now we shall meet next month.

Dt. 29-09 1988

THREE STEP RHYTHMIC BREATHING

I have been after you friends to consciously try and make every effort to come to one hour at a stretch of this breathing. I am sure by now most of you are able to do it. This is very essential.

Some of you must be trying to go beyond this one hour. Please do not try; for it is not possible to do it consciously and if you force yourself, you may damage your system because any type of conscious breathing is not possible beyond one hour without being uncomfortable.

The purpose of doing this consciously for one hour is to make firm or developed the new tissues and muscles that come into play when you shift from wrong breathing to rhythmic three step breathing. Some of you must be doing it at different times and many times a day. Today, I am giving you the secret of three step rhythmic breathing to be able to do all the twenty four hours of the day, but for this, conscious practice for one hour at a stretch is very essential. So first come to this conscious one hour.

Any process to be for twenty four hours has to become natural. Natural means, that which needs no conscious attention, nor conscious efforts and goes on and on without your knowledge and in spite of your knowledge.

The natural process of blood circulation and heart beats is natural. But breathing is strictly not in the same category- even our present wrong breathing, because in circulation or heartbeat, the process is beyond the threshold of our awareness and their behaviour is beyond our control.

That is why there are innumerable types of breathing exercises and some done under the false name of pranayama.

But any process can be continuous for twenty four hours to become natural i.e. without conscious attention or conscious efforts. The various breathing and pranayamas are not natural, for they are mere exercises and cannot be done for twenty-four hours.

56

Page 58: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Here we are not examining good or bad effects of such breathing exercises or pranayamas.

We are here to know and establish a method to make a rhythmic breathing process natural- as natural as our present wrong breathing i.e. to be able to carry out for all twenty-four hours without any conscious attention or conscious effort.

Those of you who have to come to one hour at a stretch of three step rhythmic breathing can only follow this practice. Others will have to wait till they also come to one hour. Development of new tissues and muscles is very necessary.

Now read every word carefully. At night at bed- time laying in bed, about to fall asleep this practice is to be carried out and done regularly. (Those of you who are trying for conscious sleep please discontinue till this breathing is established).

Please remember 7-1=0 and not 6 for this practice.

To make or establish a process and make it natural so that it can go on naturally without the least attention or effort requires that such a process is first registered.

When and how it is registered? The rear brain, science calls “the unconscious”; we call it the memory pool where millions and millions of memory patterns are held.

The proper method is to register in this unconscious but we have to register consciously this process and the method, as a new memory pattern.

Remember we register birth, death, marriage and we register important documents- to register is to maintain permanently record. Permanent in the sense that you will be able to rhythmically breathe automatically in your next life even, without being shown. To register is important. Register a new memory pattern.

Now how shall we register a process in the “Unconscious”, but consciously, so that it is registered as a natural process?

57

Page 59: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

We register consciously, in the “unconscious” when we are ourselves about to enter the unconscious state i.e. at bed time, about to sleep and lying in bed.

Breathing is wholly dependent on diaphragm and its movements. Diaphragm is a very sensitive organ whose movements are affected by emotional and intellectual body/brain conditions and in that case its movements become irregular and thus breathing becomes irregular and in turn the body/brain system is affected by the irregular movement of the diaphragm.

Pulse is the index of heart condition and also indicates the state of conscious or front brain lobe.

In fact the diaphragm, the heart, the pulse-beat and the conscious front brain lobe are intricately inter-connected. One affecting the other.

In ancient yoga practices it was observed that breaths and thoughts were related. From this flowed the ancient knowledge called Swar-Nadi Shastra-the relation between breath and pulse.

As the thoughts were, it affected the state of breath and vice-versa. It was also observed that breath could be from 4-21 fingers short or long, that it could be hot or cold, that it could be moist or dry and it could be from 14 to 36 breaths a minute. Besides it could flow only from left or right nostril for periods longer than one and half hours in each nostril as it otherwise should be.

The permutation and combination of this type of breaths disclosed (a) what types of thoughts were predominant (b) what could be the ailment in a person harbour certain type of thoughts more regularly than other types. This all is included in Swar-Nadi Shastra. The intensity chart is part of this Shastra.

It was also found that controlling thoughts and brain was not only difficult but was impossible. We have noted earlier that breath and thought were related so the ancient yoga practioners came to conclusion that it was easier to control breath and the outcome was a series of pranayama exercises, but it was found that as long as certain pranayama were performed it had good result on both the state of thought as well as the ailments. They also devised

Page 60: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

some corrective exercises. But both had temporary effect on the body/brain system.

But in severe storms of emotions and mental imbalance, the pranayama and corrective exercises failed. Much one –pointed thought made them decide that there must be a rhythmic type of breathing that would not be an exercise but a proper and correct way to breath. This gave the yoga all-purpose breath. But later improved and was called three step rhythmic breath.

It was realised that the diaphragm was therefore the most important organ to be taken care of. To make it natural breath they realised that this new breath must become a habit and to make it a habit it must be made a mind-pattern i.e. to be registered in the memory pool.

There are two practices or methods and together, they enable us to register in the unconscious brain or memory pool a new memory pattern to become a new habit.

In fact there is method (I) followed by method (II). But for the first fifteen to twenty days we practice method (II) and then do both. i.e. Begin with method (I) followed by method (II). Both the methods are taped along with the rhythm of music which is synchronised with or to the rhythm of three step rhythmic breath, twelve per minute.

In the first method are directives. They are taped and simultaneously the rhythm of music will be the back-ground music. I prefer that the directives be taped in each person’s voice rather than by someone else unless it is not practical.

But before we begin, each one of us must determine the average time taken (normally) to fall asleep, say 300 days out of 365 days in a year. Accordingly play the tape. Each one of you, have to do nothing but simply breath the three step rhythmic breath synchronised to the rhythm of the music and even as in method (I) where you will hear the directives, your concern will be to keep breathing and try to fall asleep to the rhythm of music.

59

Page 61: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

In method (II) i.e. for the first 15-20 days you will hear only the rhythm of music - this rhythm sink into your brain and mind and synchronise your breath to this rhythm. Care is taken to see that the rhythm of the music is 5 seconds per breath and is twelve cycles in a minute.

Only then we start with the method (I) where for three minutes you will hear directives but hear too, the rhythm of the music will continue as background music to enable you to breathe rhythmically.

This will mean that you have not to repeat 1, 2, 3-5,6 or Radhe-Krishna as you have practiced for consciously carrying out three step rhythmic breathing. This was necessary to establish consciously but it can never be made a twenty-four hours habit the same way or a memory pattern. We must follow other methods in that case; hence method (I) & (II).

In ancient days the Guru would recite a mantra or sing in a particular rhythm as his accepted disciple would be falling asleep, the disciple only to continue to breath and listen to the voice of his guru. The master would also very lovingly impressed on the accepted disciple the rhythmic movement of the diaphragm to the rhythm of his voice and to be regulated to twelve per minute. This rhythm not to yield in any circumstances inward or outward.

This knowledge was given only by word of mouth to the accepted disciple and is not mentioned as a text. We are today, instead, introducing the rhythm of the music on the tape together with the directives that will serve the purpose of the guidance of the master.

You will be surprised that in not more than 40-45 days you will be able to register this process in the unconscious as a new memory pattern if you follow carefully the steps of the practical shown and the process will become natural and automatic for all twenty-four hours and then give up this practice!

Now your three step rhythmic breathing will be natural, as natural as today your wrong breathing is- without the least attention or your least effort, rather inspite of your attention and efforts!

60

Page 62: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

The rhythmic movement of the diaphragm will be natural if your directives are correct and this rhythmic movement of the diaphragm will never be up-set, not even for a moment from its natural movement of 12 per minute except for natural causes e.g. the natural cause like running-climbing fast the steps or a hill etc.

As long as this natural movement of the diaphragm is not affected by any negative and intense feeling depending on proper directives there will be no negative response of the I.E.S.M for remember the heart and brain depend for change in their movement on the change of movement of the diaphragm because negative feelings are conveyed to the brain/heart and solar plexus and vise-versa being intricately inter connected with biological processes.

In fear, depression, doubts, you get the feeling at first not in the solar plexus, but in the change in movement of the diaphragm which in turn affect the solar plexus, heart and brain. The whole sequence is very fast and since experience is in the brain or heart or solar plexus we have given no importance to diaphragm.

If your directives have been proper and clear, the diaphragm will not deviate from its rhythmic 12 per minute movement under any circumstances- so there will be no effect passed on to the heart, brain and solar-plexus of any intense and negative feeling if registered and so I.E.S.M. will not register any out of way effect of the thought process. The thought processes will also be as rhythmic as the rhythm of breath and the rhythm of diaphragm.

Under these circumstances even by-pass is not necessary. Your peace of mind is not disturbed- the thought is registered- however intense-e.g. insult or anger from someone or fears of some type but there will be no reaction that will make you lose your composure or balance nor will there be any pathological or biological disturbance in the body/brain system.

To summarise:--

1) Determine how long you normally take to fall asleep and accordingly run the tape.

2) On the tape you will hear two methods viz: method (I) and (II).3) For the first 15-20 days play the method (II) with its rhythmic music

synchronised to five seconds per breath and twelve cycles a minute. You simply hear and keep breathing accordingly.

4) Now after 20 days introduce method (I). on your tape will be directives with the same background music you have heard for 20 days. You simply hear and synchronise your breathing to the rhythmic music as you fall asleep.

5) Continue now with method (I) + (II) for 40-45 days more. You will find yourself breathing all day the rhythmic way since you have now registered a new pattern.

6) You may now stop this practice. If you think this is nice to continue then you may do so.

N.B. So far we have not perfected the rhythmic tape music nor the final set of directives.

Many of our friends meet me in between our monthly meetings. Normally from most of you or almost all of you, I hear praises for Swamijis and their Bhajans. I have used the word Swami but it can be he or she.

I consider singing and hearing Bhajans as an escape. Analyse yourself and you will find it is an escape. Bhajans are similar to day-dreaming. Day-dreaming, is an escape and is one of the functions of the brain, of the five functions that Sage Patanjali has described as obstacles or hindrances to soul progress!

In day-dreaming we replace what we have not got or achieved and feel happy. In Bhajans we feel the want of spirituality in us which we think is somehow filled in and so we indulge in Bhajans.

Same is applicable to Japas. Japas are performed because here again we feel the want of spirituality in us which we think is somehow filled in and so we indulge in Japas.

62

Page 64: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Equally dangerous is the so called Satsang. These are all escapes and more we indulge in all of these practices (or any one) we shall become weaker and weaker day by day. When we have not the energy or strength to do something constructive, we indulge in such passive practices. I will now give you the words of my Master.

I was made to carry out japa of Gayatri Mantra for ten malas standing on one foot, alternating my foot daily and this required nearly one and half hours. After three years (i.e. at my age of eleven) of such performance, my master asked me, “Have you felt a great surge of spirituality by now?”

I knew my master and I knew his dynamic approach to Bajans, Japas and Satsang, so I replied, “No Sir, I am only accumulating daily the strong vibrations of Japa, by your grace. I yet know nothing about spirituality.”

To this I got his most valuable reply. He replied, “Good. Do not get involved in japas, mantras or Bhajans and shake your head and clap your hands. In that case it is a mere escape. If your brain understand to yourself and gather only the vibrations of a japa or enjoy Bhajans as you would enjoy any other music then no harm will come to you. But none of those who are immersed in japas and Bhajans can keep themselves isolated”

He further said, “Be very careful with those who talk of paap and punya, who talk of lower self and higher self or lower mind and higher mind; so for mostly they know not themselves”.

He further said, “Spirituality is not something you can buy or be gifted with. For anyone not be spiritual is impossible!! This is so, for the simple reason that your body is the finest temple, better than any man made temple and in your temple, that is your body, though you have not installed, but fortunately for all of us resides God, the Divine Fragment of the Divine Wholeness, that is not personal God. No idol anywhere on earth can compare with this.”

He said, “Yoga practices that I have shown you, will enable you to install in your temple, that is your body, and welcome consciously that impersonal God and experience this unforgettable situation. My duty is to lead you to that experience.”

“Till you experience this, you feel you are wanting in spirituality, which is not true. Do you realise this Truth? If you accept this all will be well with you always.”

These were the words or the gist of what he told me.

Dt. 27-10-1988 (1)

More thoughts on Three Step Rhythmic BreathingWhat makes an ordinary man a Mahayogi or a Maharshi? i.e. a man who has brought about consciously, transformation. The question is wrong. There is no making or becoming. We are what we want to be! Does a man flower or bloom from within like a rose i.e. gain full or total transformation or is something added to him or introduced into him from an outside source? Is not grace really the flowering or blooming from within and thereby realising a flood of powers and possibilities for infinite good, rather than depend on an outside agency working on him? In this case his autonomous state which is his birth right is denied to him and the thought that God and Nature have given man free will is contradicted.

If it is an outside agency, science, if not today, in some distant future can stimulate the same conditions. It will then nullify the idea of God and His Creation based on certain cosmic laws.

1. If the answer is No, it is from within; then the question arises, how does it happen? Is mere breathing and for that matter it may be the three step rhythmic breathing, how is it able to bring about the possibility of transformation. Cannot science tomorrow programme the proper functioning of I.E.S.M. and/or the rhythmic movement of the diaphragm and so can such technology bring about the state of Mahayogi or a Maharshi? Is this possible?

2. If we say that such a programming cannot do it, what is then the worthwhile difference; if technique of three step rhythmic breathing is ultimately responsible?

In the first place, if a human being is nothing more than or not beyond a computerised organism only, then these thoughts are valid. But he is much beyond, but that side of his being is dormant and cannot be awakened unless he wishes so himself and then sincerely works towards this end. He is autonomous and for that matter each cell in his body/brain system is also autonomous! The idea of free will is this intrinsic inbuilt autonomy of every living cell in his body/brain system.

Secondly we have noted in the earlier notes that anything that is added from an outside source, by way of preaching, morality or religion, will not be imbibed or digested, though like a tape recorder it can all be reproduced faithfully for ulterior reasons because each cell in him is autonomous and

64

Page 66: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

that is why religions and morality and all the efforts of all the ages have not succeeded and man today we find, inspite of being able to walk in space or walk on the moon is as helpless as near animal nature as he ever was!!

So the idea of programming by science would never result in making him a Mahayogi or Maharshi for a simple reason that he cannot be made for he already is! Yes it may make him an artificially good ‘Robot’, but that is not what we want. This would be good if we were a synthetic and not a natural humanity.

But this will never make him flower or bloom from within and show real transformation, with value added, because science does not take in to consideration such abstract factor as value and does not know what transformation is.

This is the main difference between programming and a naturally achieved state brought about by one’s own spontaneous and willing efforts along proper lines.

So far so good, but what exactly is the factor that creates the difference besides the factor of autonomy if only the three step rhythmic breathing can bring this about? !

Fort that, let us once again quickly clear our mind as to the process of thought formation, because that is the only way we function on this planet.

The incoming impulses (Sage Patanjali calls, “the effect producing cause”) from persons and objects around us and which enter our body/brain system at the rate of 30000 per pulse beat of which 120 per pulse beat create thought processes. They in turn pull out near identical memory pattern from the unconscious or the memory pool at the rear brain and together rush to the fore or front brain or conscious brain where these are worked upon by the four centres I.E.S.M. and intensified and developed depending on the basic structure of these centres I.E.S.M. (refer intensity chart) resulting in automatic reflex action or automatic re-action. The cortex aiding the whole process. The whole process is very fast and takes 1/120 of a pulse beat.

If these four centres I.E.S.M. in the conscious brain are or become dormant we have a person in deep coma or dead, because working of the four centres makes the front brain conscious. This automatic reaction is in thought, word or deed.

65

Page 67: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

From this arise all religions and philosophies because these automatic reactions taking place have to be good. No one has cared to show or explained how this can be done.

But for this good thought, words and deeds, man has been paralysed in to submission and mental slavery by introducing the theory of Heaven and Hell and Karma and Dharma and his rampant in the whole world and holds man in mental slavery. He has to say his prayers, he has to attend his church, mosque or temple etc.

Fearing consequences after death,(which no one so far has proved or disproved) man is held spell bound and rituals and prayers and priests have survived with religions heads holding firmly the reins in their hands; even in our days of nuclear science and space age.

Hence the need of a breakthrough from these numbing fetters on human mind and brain. These fetters on our minds and brains are worse than on our feet! Over the ages this has gone on from the beginning of creation and therefore it is not only difficult but near impossible to erase these memory patterns out of human brain and mind.

Deep rooted fear of punishment after death does not allow the brain to enter a “new thought”. Even on attempting at doing so, one finds his lurking fear at the back of one’s mind- these deep rooted memory patterns of Hell and Heaven-Karma and Dharma.

We also know that normally unlearning is not possible. This will come in the way of programming by science, for science will not be able to give satisfactory reply to this fear.

Yoga for long has tried to work with this indoctrinated human mind and brain, yet keeping in focus the absolute autonomous state of each human being but no real success was possible.

Hence at first entered the ideas of japa, tapa, bhajans and satsang. This did not help though till today many indulge in such escape methods.

So what was or is the remedy for the mass of humanity? The Sages who discovered the science of Svar-Nadi relationship realised that the breath was a powerful and tremendous force.

At first they came out with various breathing aided by various asanas. Hence the creation of the important branch of Hath Yoga. Side by side originated the Bhakti Yoga, Gnan Yoga, Laya Yoga, Raj Yoga and so forth.

66

Page 68: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

But all these remained exercises and one could not indulge whole day in them and so for the rest of the day the old deep rooted memory pasttenrs re-established their sway on the mind and brain. To avoid this, many left homes for ashram life and adopted Brahmcharya, little realising that this was a big step to escape the realities of life; that God and Nature will force them again and again grahsthi life style.

So the Sages finally arrived at a breathing, a natural, full twenty four hour rhythmic breathing (the last noted exponent was Sage Patanjali) which could have the effect of the former special breathing together with the noted asanas and that such a breathing natural, effortless was based on another sound scientific fact and so could give the desired result.

One basic important factor to be understood is:

Whenever an individual of his or her own accord finally decides to change for the better from within and puts in tireless efforts to that end and is also not motivated by any gain of so called spirituality or psychic powers, this state of one’s brain structure by itself creates a certain correction in the functioning of the four centres I.E.S.M i.e. in their content of Sattva-Rajas-Tamas (I.E &S).

When this state of the individual is held faithfully and when tireless efforts continue, the violent and stormy vibrations of ‘E& S’ (violent and stormy we indicate as minus intensities) subside and forceful and vibrant vibrations of ‘I’ increases (forceful and vibrant we indicate as plus intensities) The negative minus vibrations slowly fading away and positive plus vibrations leading the way.

This continues till all the accumulated (negative) debris is totally washed away and balance and rhythm in the four centres I.E.S.M. is established. The natural man shines forth, the outer mask having disintegrated by now.

Nothing is needed; nothing is to be added to reach this state. When this is possible the Infinite Mind – Chittie clean and all-knowing makes the individual appear also clean and all-knowing and we attribute this change- as transformation –forgetting that this so called state of transformation was always there, hidden under the accumulated negative (minus) debris.

(Later this thought also one had to set aside- the thought of cleaning the mirror of dust accumulation).

67

Page 69: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Hence the cry by Buddha, “Bhiksu! Empty the Boat”. Though pronounced repeatedly all over India, the very followers of Buddha ended in chanting the Japa, “Buddham Sarnam Gachcha Mi” and Sankracharya led others back to Brahmanism, to rituals, ceremonies, Japa, Tapa etc.

This was and is today our state because the average human brain can not empty itself of the debris and remain in a state of high expectancy (difficulty of language to make it very clear) when the Infinite Mind can pour in or when all the powers of God and Nature would speak to the individual and thus the individual starts speaking.

But the individual in search, wanting to know, wanting to do and this very state is contrary to what has been said earlier and becomes a wall or hurdle preventing the natural to happen.

On what scientific fact was it based? But besides this scientific fact the individual’s voluntary sincere effort to be free from all orthodox thoughts on religion, and philosophy was a laid down pre-requisite. Hence dear friends, my great stress all the time in my earlier notes to be free from all orthodoxy.

This is the main obstacle, the main difference between programming a human being which not only trespasses on his autonomous status but it is not possible for science to erase only particular series of memory patterns from the millions of series in the memory pool; besides it has to be with the voluntary and free decision and resolution of the individual.

The scientific fact behind the three step rhythmic breathing was discovered by the Sages thousands of years age, which science is groping for today. The fact is that the physical breath is totally synchronised to the prana intake of the astral or molecular body, thereby making possible the flow of the prana in the physical body. The rhythm of one breath per six beats or five seconds and twelve such breaths per minute. This is the main line of action.

Let me reiterate, if this rhythm of breathing and the scientific fact behind the three step rhythmic breathing if even programmed by science, the result will not be the same. If an individual would willingly submit to such scientific experiments by science he would be in the case surrendering his autonomy- and this will frustrate any possibility.

68

In short this breathing cannot be imposed or programmed on a human being. This will ofcourse as stated earlier give artificially good human being who will fail when they will meet life’s challenges because scientific “Robots” or human robots are not much different from synthetic humanity- and we are a natural humanity.

With all said and done, one reaches a state prior to transformation as stated by Sage Patanjali, “The state of Bondage is overcome through perfectly maintained discrimination” (rhythm and balance)

The translation is not very correct. Permanent three step breathing establishes permanent state of meditative attitude and the state of awakenedness. Then further he says, “There is a fourth stage (transformation) which transcends these dealing with the internal and external phases”. This state transcendes all teaching and methods. They are no more needed for three step rhythmic breathing has become natural breathing.

The mere sophisticated brain centres that have been dormant for ages are now stimulated by long established three step rhythmic breathing and so the man blooms and flowers from within and seems become a supreman. That is the state of transformation. The four stages are (1) Half asleep state i.e. our present waking state, (2) Awake state (3) State of awakendness and (4) Transformation.

But all the way, the individual has to, of his own accord and desire must put in sincere efforts and not take any outside help - viz. Hypnotism or scientific probing in to his brain. He must not surrender at any point his autonomous status to any outside source.

Dt. 27-10-1988 (2)

We know that the picture and sound produced and transmitted by any T.V. station flows through the atmosphere as coded impulses and becomes coded impulses to millions of T.V. receivers (sets) and are received and decoded, all in colour, picture and sound.

But we directly do not hear or see the coded impulses that are all around us, but that does not mean that they do not flow into our rooms.

Not only one set of picture, sound and colour is in our room but should our T.V. set have more channels, then picture, sound and colour from other T.V. stations and even from countries outside of our own country can be seen and heard.

So you see we are in the same manner constantly surrounded by sound, picture, and colour if we can only see and hear the sound, picture and colour from the cosmic world. Much of the lofty sound, picture and colour pour in on us, from the Cosmic World if only we can receive! There is a scientific way to make this possible.

Those who naturally and /or accidently and occasionally see and hear, not knowing the scientific approach say it was the voice of God, (Zarathustra and Ahuramazada) (Christ and Father in Heaven) (Mohammed and Angel Gabriel) (Joan of Arc and the Angles) are examples and many inspired artists all the world over have felt that way.

All coded impulses are silent; though they carry sound, even loud sound of thunder, lightening and storms. language in this process is no barrier.

All coded impulses in the atmosphere seek registration i.e. seek to be decoded and made use of, for better or worse by a suitable apparatus, be it the human brain, from objects and people around us and also from the Cosmic World.

The human thinking instrument is very sensitive and capable apparatus together with other areas of the brain; were we too suitably decode, hear too language would be no barrier, both from the physical world and/or cosmic world.

70

Page 72: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

We are living in an ocean of such oppressive (physical) coded impulses and this is prevalent all over the world. True it is that, like oxygen it is found less (this oppressive atmosphere) at great heights- but in this case 1000 miles up is no escape and Himalayas are only six to seven miles high!

It is strange that for writing and speaking we need to know language, but coded impulses that enter our thinking instrument, makes us suddenly to put down whatever we may be doing and something totally different, even sometimes can make us dress up and go out to perform the decoded impulse.

Therefore God and Nature has mercifully laid down a law which saves us from oppression of all the total coded impulses but be oppressed by only those that fall within our individual code spectrum and structure.

Even so, the flow of incoming impulses to our thinking instrument drench us and drawn us at the rate of 120 per pulse beat. So from morning to night and from birth to death, wherever we be on Earth or in Space, this flow will pour into us.

And to this volume, we add from our own memory pool when we brood on our past or day dream for a future. Here no Mars or Lenin has raised a voice against this terrible oppression. Many have raised their voice to other types of operations e.g. the apartheid problem in South Africa. Perhaps because nobody thinks that this is a much more terrible oppression.

We have only to look all around us the world over today to see the sorry state of humanity in every country without exception and this will continue to go from bad to worse, for strangely, more literacy and more technical knowledge will make it worse!

An army of preachers in the last six thousand years of recorded history have said much against this oppression, to no avail- for it is mere philosophy and has remained and armed chair philosophy. It has only become worse with passing of time, Religion, theology, philosophy, and to this we can add modern psychology, Christian Science etc. etc. but they have all failed! Nothing seems to work and our new generation is frustrated!

Almost all of us put on a mask of being good and we have to remain constantly on our guard and so we are miserable for we get fatigued and tension build up in so pretending! Is there an unfailing remedy?

71

Page 73: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

The Sutra says, “Intense desire for sentient living (existence) is attachment. This is inherent in every living form, is self – perpetuating and known to the very wise”.

Further the Sutra says, “These five hindrances (we call five functions viz.-impulse/reaction, habit, drifts, brooding, day-dreaming) when known can be overcome by an opposing mental attitude.”

Here “when known” is equivalent to our four methods of checking drifts; to overcome by “a opposing mental attitude” means our various corrective exercises, and the five functions are the direct cause of the five negative emotions, viz. Anger, greed, attachment, passion and egoism i.e. Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Kama, Aham.

But it was found then, as it is found in our days now, that when the intensity of the emotional storms was great (especially resulting in fear, anger and passion) these corrective exercises failed! They were and are good in milder cases. Why? Because any remedy to be 100% effective in all cases (even extreme) must not be involved with the thinking instrument alone !

So sages pondered long and deep over this matter, as our psychologists are today searching when intense fear, passion, hate and anger is aroused nothing helped or helps, nothing mattered and it all repeated itself and made person feel so impotent!

One pointed thought gave the sage the final solution. They put their finger on intense negative emotions and the other to the state of being (Structure & Spectrum)

The sutra further says, “Karma itself has its roots in these five hindrances- and must come to fruition in this life or in some later life”.

And they found the basic cause as “Avidy”, but ignorance not as being illiterate (the most learned are worst affected) but avidya as ignorance of the methods of solution.

So the Sutra further says, “So long as the root (sanskaras) (memory patterns) exists, their fruition will be birth, life and experience resulting in pleasure or pain”.(Pleasure not peace).

Further,“these roots (memory patterns) produce pleasure or pain as their originating cause was good or evil”.

72

Page 74: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

So we find that the big and only mischief makers are (1) memory patterns (2) identical incoming impulses which sage Patanjali distinctly calls the “Effect producing cause”, that ignite memory and to create there by mental and emotional storms.

But what is worst is that this is also the only process by which we can live on our planet!

So the sages came to the conclusion that these two must be made impotent as the first and elementary step. But they had to search for a “missile” powerful enough to destroy everything these mischief makers would create a storm; and also that this weapon should be like our present day heat seeking missile that would not miss its aim and destroy successfully; in short this weapon should be available all twenty-four hours.

The second step would be, “Prevention is better than cure”. The first step being only a cure, the more advanced step would be total prevention of all type of storms – to be able to live a peaceful and serene life.

So they made use of the human brain itself and selected the faculty of attention and by certain techniques and methods made it the most powerful weapon viz.-the meditative attitude.

This when achieved would lead to looking without seeing and listening without hearing, one can then be isolated and alone in a crowd, concerned in a way and yet remaining unconcerned!

This method will be explained in our next meeting. But first we must develop the meditative attitude by practices and methods shown. (Refining and upgrading of awareness)

The storm gathers everything, by a meeting of the incoming impulses from objects and people around us and near identical memory patterns and sometimes only from our memory patterns pool ignited suddenly by a word or picture (a hook) thus be the originating cause. Can we not throw out from our body/brain system this originating cause at once before it can ignite a storm or catch upon a hook to where it came from and instead of it creating various effects in our body/brain system?

Only when the full impact of the above will sink into your understanding, will you be able to realise the unfailing power of the weapon.

The problems we see today everywhere in the whole world or the problems we experience today are not generated now, but we are seeing and

experiencing a long chain of ancient causes accumulating and leading to present moment and these ancient causes may not only be from our last life but from lives much earlier also. If this is not the basic understanding, nothing will become clear to our mind and brain.

So the Sutra says, “The brain can be trained to steadiness through those forms of attention which have relation to the sense of perception”. (Through up-grading of awareness).

Further, “The activities of the five hindrances are to be done away with, through the process of attention”.

In both the above sutras attention is not the correct translation- it should be read as meditative attitude.

Much will be explained later. But do you all realise where you are now heading - in which direction? Have you all got up from your deep and long slumber?

Have you all been doing the refining exercises? Is the breathing fast and forceful? Have you been looking at the watch or clock as you look in to the prism when doing exercise?. Have you had a measure of success?

And for health, have you been doing three asanas and rota? Do you realise that bad health is a great obstacle?

Some have raised the question; that do not people elsewhere in the world progress on the path also and that they all may not have heard of Geeta or Sutras or even the three step rhythmic breathing, so is there no remedy for them?

Yes, they all have their different techniques and methods, just as we have modified the ancient techniques and methods to suit ourselves and theirs may be as good-we do not deny.

But whatever our sages have given us is second to none and from personal experience, I say that they are positively the Best.

Dt . 24-11-1988(1)

“I” (This ‘I’ could be any individual)I was looking but not seeing at the plain wall in front of me. Suddenly it receded and I found myself standing there surrounded by innumerable people, young men, old men, women and children of all colours, cast, religions and languages.

As I was standing there, I realised that they were all pelting me with stones, all these people; stones from the size of pebbles to the size of golf balls. These were hurled at me from all the angles. Some hurled mud and some hurled even filth.

Soon I developed an automatic reflex action to avoid being hurt using my hands and arms for protection. This continuous barrage hurt me, hurt me deep. I was bleeding from many places.

I also developed an automatic reflex action of catching some of the missiles and hurling back at some of them and even injuring them and got a bit of solace that I could hit back and hurt them in return. This became my second nature. The stones, the mud and the filth that were hurled at me was at great speed perhaps at 120 per second and my automatic defence and aggression had no deeper thinking behind. In fact it was hardly any thinking.

Rarely someone would throw a rose at me. Sometimes someone would send a smile at me and on rare occasion someone would blow a flying kiss at me. But all there were very very seldom.

With this continuous experience, I came to the conclusion that this world is not a fit place to live in, nor the people are good to live with. That this was a heartless and ruthless world. That there is much unhappiness and frustration and I could hardly do anything else besides being engaged in self-defence or try a little of aggression. So I built up tension and stress in my system.

When it was dark and time to sleep I was left a little alone. When alone I tried to review as I was falling asleep all the injury, the pain, the stains on my clothes and body, the scars and wounds on my body.

I then tried to visualise a world where people will not hurl stones or mud or filth. I even thought of one who would not hurl back stones at the people and hurl them.

75

Page 77: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

But as I was engaged thus a long bearded man in saffron clothes from a distance tell me, “No this is not the way to live, you must not be tense, and do not indulge in brooding and day dreaming. You must remain at peace. You must not hit back. The animals live like that. Relax and smile” – but had he any idea of my pain, my suffering, my cause of tensions.

After a little while another man with long beard in saffron clothes from a distance tell me, “you do not worry about the missiles flying at you and hurting you. Karma will take care and they will suffer in turn. Close your eyes and meditate and go deep into transdental meditation” – he even said that my Karma must have earned what I had got – He seem to be a kind man to be so un mindful of my pain and suffering.

After a while another man with a long beared white robes tells me, “This is all Maya. You are the spirit. Nothing can hurt you. This body, you have to drop here and go. Repeat the japa, Radhe-Krishna and be at peace. You will soon realise mukti.”

The pelting of stones continued, the pelting of mud and filth continued. The stains from my body will not go, the deep scars on my body and bleeding wounds will not heal and no one cared-yet someone advised me to heed those three wise men who were fully realised?

I felt like running away from this situation I was in; to some ashram or to the Himalayas leaving my wife and children behind.

Perhaps there people may not hurt stones at me. But I heard another wise man saying, “You know what Lord Krishna has said in Geeta to Arjuna when he was despondent and wanted to run away from the field of Kurukchetra?

He then gave me a long philosophical lecture. All these wise people talk only from a distance. The pelting of stones goes on-the pelting of mud and filth goes on .My body is bleeding, my bones are aching, I cannot think straight, but no one seems to care; all are too busy to care and are only happy to hurt.

But my surprise I heard Dr.Parukh calling loudly, “I know of a sure way to escape from all this suffering. Try 3SRB and keep it for all twenty four hours”????

The plain wall came back to my sight and the vision disappeared but what did the vision have to say?

Dt. 24-11-1988(2)The notes of our last meeting on page 4, we had noted (a) that the incoming impulses, loaded with memory patterns, together with the working of I.E.S.M. centres in the front lobe or conscious brain should be prevented by a method by pass. (b) In the following Para we had mentioned, prevention is better than cure, meaning that the working of the I.E.S.M. centres be made harmless to our well-being and such inward peaceful condition must remain with us all twenty four hours of the day.

Hence (a) is merely a solution to a problem to be brought about consciously (b) is actually a prevention of the occurrences of such a problem at all.

If we study (a) again, we find that it is a method whereby the incoming impulses loaded with memory patterns when they reach the I.E.S.M centres, the potentially emotions loaded memory patterns are ignited when they reach the I. E. S. M. Centres, for though the memory patterns contain all type of emotions with the qualities in them with wide range of intensities, are but in latent state and so they are harmless at the stage of ignition, but once they reach the registration area and touch the I. E. S. M. Centres, these centres are capable of igniting the latent qualities in emotions and hence only after they are ignited, actions in thought, word or deed follows. (Normally automatic reflex action).

Geeta: Chapter III 27 says, “Action is the product of the qualities inherent in Nature.” It is only the ignorant man mislead by personal egotism says, “I am the doer”.

So compared to this (a) which is a method only, (b) is the constant blissful inward state of an individual and so (b) is that much superior to (a). But to reach (b) we must first establish (a).

If the centres I. E. S. M. do not ignite the latent qualities held in the emotions and held in memory patterns or if I.E.S.M. centres are by-passed, nothing will disturb the individual’s mental and emotional balance. To what extent should the centres I.E.S.M. be calmed down so that even when they function they are harmless to our inward well-being and peace of mind?

This how much, is dependent on each individual. There is no fixed level. The level necessary is automatically reached when individually each one of us would establish 3SRB for all twenty-four hours.

77

Page 79: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

But the very purpose of the centres I.E.S.M. is to ignite the latent qualities within the emotions held in the memory patterns. So this calls for refining and up-grading of emotions, awareness and intellect. So the exercises given are very essential.

Hence the world over all attempts are made and all practices and methods indulge in the hope (i) by-passing the I.E.S.M. centres. Or (ii) is calming the I.E.S.M. centres or (iii) calming the intensities of the qualities within the memory patterns. But all the methods prevalent all over the world do not precisely mention in what direction are their attempts directed for they all seen to be groping towards one of these ends (i) (ii) or (iii).

But in the normal process of thought form making, the incoming impulses loaded with memory patterns enter the registration area where I.E.S.M. centres are situated. By-passing is difficult and not sure method to help the individual to live a peaceful and serene life always and under all circumstances, because such methods could only be tried for a short period and when we become aware of the gathering storm. So we cannot much rely on by-pass methods or their timely aid for often we are not aware of this gathering storm.

Everything and every form in the universe have three qualities in some imbalance. This imbalance is the cause of existence of a thing or form. Because of this universally prevalent condition in all existence both Geeta and Sutra lay great emphasis on the three qualities which are inherent and inbuilt in all Existence and most disturbing in the sensitive creature—the human being.

There are many methods and practices found all over the world. The most effective so far we have been the Hatha Yoga practices of asanas and pranayama and also the Tantric practices. The former can be practiced for a period of time and so there is no effective shield at other hours of the day or night. The Tantric is dangerous for the common man. Bhakti requires many—many innumerable life times of total surrender.

The Sutra says, “That which is experienced has three qualities. The use of these produces further experience (bondage) and also is the cause of liberation”. i.e. the use of qualities creates the conditions (i) of bondage if their use is faulty (ii) of liberation if their use is correct. It therefore means that (a) i.e. by-pass method will not lead to liberation though temporarily and even repeatedly may give peace of mind.

78

Page 80: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Geeta: Chapter III (33).Says, “Even the wise man acts in after with his nature. Indeed all creatures act according to their nature. What is the use of compulsion then?” Nature=code and spectrum, code decided by the contents of the qualities.

The Sutra say, “Pratyahara is the subjugation of the senses by the thinking instrument and their withdrawal from that which they hither to been their object”. This describes (a) that we have stated earlier.

Geeta:Chapter III (34) says, “The love and hate which are aroused by the objects of sense, arise by the nature. Do not yield to them. They only obstruct the path”. But the question remains, how not to yield?

The entire Universe that floats in Infinite Mind and is the myriad aspects of this Infinite Mind we call Nature, or Nature, because mountains, rivers, trees, sky, only do not form nature. Nature as we experience on this Earth is cellular and is not found much in the Universe and would perhaps less than 0.0001% of Nature is found in the Universe---is all the shades of Infinite Mind, I and you included with our minds and brains and all other shapes and forms, solid, liquid gas, animate and so called inanimate i.e. the Infinite Mind is the unifying substance in all Existence whether science would call It as energy—ocean of energy.

This unifying substance has millions of so called morphic fields, morphic resonance as modern science has conclusive terms, even morphogenetic fields; tomorrow they may say something else but unless they can experience this Infinite Mind, this totally unifying substance, how will they know really!!

This unifying substance has three qualities in full abundance but at total rest. From this ocean whoever and whenever one ignites these latent qualities as per individual’s code and spectrum will experience the qualities accordingly. All experiences therefore are relative. These qualities therefore are latent and hidden in incoming impulses, memory patterns-thought forms-but await ignition-though these qualities in themselves are highly inflammable- they can be only ignited by a brain—whatever the nature of the brain from human being to a cell—and which has within an equivalent of the four centres I.E.S.M. as in human brains.

This unifying substance can fabricate anything except – (the Divine Fragment- Spirit encased in each human being for it is far beyond the understanding even of this unifying substance) and can loan awareness and intellect with intelligence to the extent of each creature’s code and spectrum. Higher the

79

Page 81: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

code and spectrum, higher and more refined the awareness and intellect loaned by Infinite Mind and vice-versa but always relative.

Science expects such a unifying substance and terms it as the unique force field. For science ‘field’ a vast and vague word. Because of awareness intellect at varying stages, all Existence appears meaningful even if we are convinced that all this is transitory and subject to decay and death.

So awareness and intellect are seen at innumerable levels as expressed by different creatures including the human beings. But awareness and intellect have weaknes of fluctuating between zero to infinity and time and again all creatures exhibit zero awareness whether the span or duration of awareness is a few seconds or in billions of years. If this zero awareness lasts a little longer (-if it is short, it is the state of slumber) all memory previous to the zero awareness is totally dimmed off- practically effaced—and this state is considered as death!—though even such memory can be ignited!

All state of awareness and intellect, all the myriad combinations and permutation of these with the three qualities—creates Existence—that is totally Para sonic and panoramic.

Imbalance of qualities and fluctuations of awareness and intellect and ignition of the qualities by something like a human brain with I.E.S.M. and such centres in whatever other lower and poorer forms –is the basic Cosmic law totally prevailing in all Existence. To be exception to this cosmic law all prevailing is the glorious state of a natural human being standing at the threshold of liberation!!

All created creatures in all Existence must obey laid down cosmic laws. But through avidya i.e. ignorance of this law or due to dominant qualities of Rajas and Tamas all creatures violate this cosmic laws in some manner and therefore are subject to correction. This correction is wrongly interpreted as destiny or Karma!! Correction need not come from an outside and higher source. It is required to come from within.

This has created in each creature an inner structure and this inner structure fluctuates between its minus and plus possibilities. These various fluctuations are the moods we experience. We all are thus subject to infinite number of moods and in each different mood each creature reacts differently to the same stimuli!!

80

Page 82: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

These moods in turn affect the breathing of all creatures. (We are concerned with human beings only) So our breath is seldom without fluctuations also, depending on these very many moods we experience.

So we creatures over ages have come down from the totally whole state to our present day totally fractured state of our being to once more return to the totally whole state and so have to retrace our steps. This is call evolution. But unlike this thought, science thinks we have arisen from primitive darkness and are slowly evolving. Let science think what it wants to.

In the whole world, religions, philosophies, yoga etc. including all efforts of our present day science are deeply involved in this retracing our steps to take us back to our totally whole state. So far all the methods have failed, why?

Because there are two ways in which we can bring about this:-

(a) Try to bring balance from imbalance in the qualities prevailing in us and calming the I.E.S.M. centres. This method is tried all over the world. But it is bound to fail for all the efforts are with the help of the thinking instrument. The thinking instrument cannot cure itself. It needs an outside force—equally powerful, for the thinking instrument is a very powerful force.

(b) A technique that does not deal directly with the thinking instrument—whatever be the technique—whether religion, philosophy or scientific—but a technique of rhythmic breathing established as our natural breath for all twenty-four hours and by a corollary that breath and moods and thinking and imbalance of qualities are all inter-related by cosmic laws so can bring about a rhythm between them by imposing a rhythm in breathing.

Rhythm in thinking means minus intensities in the qualities are changed to or raised to plus intensities and intellect and awareness will be refined and up-graded and the centres I.E.S.M will be calmed down to the extent that one can live a peaceful and serene life always and under all circumstances even when I.E.S.M. functions.

81

Page 83: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

If that vast universe floats in a unifying substance, the Infinite Mind and all shapes and forms are but the manifestations of this unifying substance, it calls for a unifying factor or key. This unifying factor or key is the three step rhythmic breath. Each living creature will have therefore its own rhythmic breath.

We shall examine the by-pass method in our next meeting; where by incoming impulses loaded with memory patterns by-pass the centres I.E.S.M. so that the latent qualities within memory patterns are not ignited.

But before that we must clarify our mind and brain. When we see action in speech or deed we fail to realise that it is the last step we are witnessing. The earlier step to actions are (1) incoming impulses (2) near identical memory patterns (3) latent qualities that await ignition (4) functions of I.E.S.M. and ignition of the qualities---thereby bringing about action.

But today we as an individual—nor science are able to see either incoming impulses, memory patterns, nor the fluctuating qualities nor the working of I.E.S.M centres; but only see pure action in word or speech—not even action in thought; so all efforts all over the world are at this last step level—for correction purpose, so can such remedy succeeded?

But we must heal at source and not try to heal the last function only viz. Automatic reflex action that takes place in word or deed and what is worst is that we are using the thinking instrument for bringing about this correction in the thinking instrument itself.

Dt. 12-01-1989

The Kundalini – its misconceptions and facts :-

To state the few misconceptions:-

All of you have either heard or read about Kundalini Shakti. The goddesses as some call it in dormant state lying or sleeping at the Muladhar Chakra in the astral body.

Some call it the coiled serpent with three and half coils blocking the central passage Sushumna at the Muladhar Chakra in the astral body.

Some say it is a mighty force of energy which raises in the central column the Sushumna and reaches the hollow of the brain and pours nectar as it reaches there.

There are in numerable books and accounts of the rising of the Kundalini and its effects on the physical body, written by persons (including Sir. John Wood roof – Serpent Power) who have had no personal experience of the rising of Kundalini. And not one has mentioned why or how it could rise and what it actually does.

As we shall proceed along I will explain to you what actually takes place, how and when as the so called Kundalini rises. Sufficient it to say that all my talk all this time and the practices so far shown have been towards this one end only – By stages and slowly.

Between the preliminary steps: (1) Yama (2) Niyam (3) Asana (4) Pranayama and the rising of Kundalini is the fifth step Pratyhara. He who has not established or understood and practice in this normal life Pratyahara, can never know the rising of the Kundalini.

The steps (6) Dharana (7) Dhayana (8) Samadhi are very high Yoga practices but for some specific end. They are practiced for achieving some specific performance. For some such advanced practices also these fifth step Pratyahara is very essential.

83

Page 85: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Pratyahara stage if established, presupposes that (a) at the I.E.S.M. the formula 2:4:8:2 has been replaced by the formula 5:2:2:1 which is now firmly established i.e. I.E.S.M. centres have been calmed to the extent that the individual is not disturbed whatever happens or the structure of acceptance automatically creates bypass. It is IIIa stage firmly established.

(b) (6 – 7) Refer Diagram The 3rd grade of energy of essence of consciousness has been refined and is now 1st grade.

(c) Because of (a) and (b) Spiritual will is developed in place of earlier neutral and intellectual will. (a), (b) and (c) take many many life times to happen even when worked upon consciously.

This much is the internal development in Pratyahara stage and for which specific practices are very necessary to reach IIIb stage.

Now I will tell you about two movements in our galaxy the Milky Way which concern us vitally on this planet Earth, but you and I and our modern science may not be aware of the effects as to why they take place. Someday Science may find the right answer. I will inform you about this effects someday.

In our galaxy is a binary star known as star Sirius. Binary means two stars as one or couple. Some stars are single; some have a family as our Sun has. Please note, a star is a Sun.

One of these two binary star Sirius is bright and this star even bigger than our Sun, The other is perhaps the size of the Jupiter but dark extremely heavy. When a star or Sun is the size of a planet it is termed a dwarf. The two of them keep rotating around each other the way it is shown at (6 – 7) in the diagram.

But this (6 – 7) in the diagram is at the base of the Spine. It is a rotation of the forces. 6 & 7 represent the two nodes (is in the Physical body. i.e. when and where the first master cell i.e. formed by the meeting by the sperm and ovum at conception splits into two halves. 6 & 7 show the position of this 1st original two halves. They each then grow and keep splitting and form the spine and the brain and the entire body.

Now it is true that our Sun with its Solar System goes round this binary star Sirius once in 25,000 years. Normally only a Captive star or planet goes round but there are innumerable instances where a star or a solar system goes round a binary star but is actually like a mother protecting a child and so our Sun goes round and does exactly this to star Sirius.

Each round of our Sun in 25,000 years makes the two stars of Sirius to come nearer each other. The distance reduced between them every 25000 years is constant till these two will come so near that there individual pull will make either heavy or dark fall into the bright and large or the bright and large will rush and encircle the heavy and dark forming of the core of the new star Sirius as a whole. Such a hard core is in our Sun also (Seen as a Sun spots) and is the cause of fusion and fission in the Sun.

At (6 – 7) is also the cause of fusion and fission at the base of spine at Muladhara in the astral body in the two nodes.

AT every 12,500 years, violent movement take place on our planet and change & sift the Earth’s crust where in place of land comes water and in some places of water rise fresh lands. Human civilization is totally destroyed each 12,500 years and our civilisation will also be totally destroyed. Of the 12,500 years hardly 500 years are left.

Our Earth is not happy with our outer scientific progress, she wants internal progress. If humanity will not show this internal progress she is not interested in our science and architecture and she will every time destroy it. But we have drifted away from our main subject.

In the same way as Star Sirius, the forces at (6 – 7) will reach a certain intensity and rhythm by 3 SRB (IIIb stage) they will then fuse into one force and the 1st grade of the energy of the essence of consciousness will force entry in the central passage Sushumna in the astral body. This is as much a biological happening in our physical body simultaneously.

This possibility is brought about consciously and is the cause of repeated possibilities conscious clinical death for the advance student of scientific Yoga.

Page 87: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

If our Sun with the Solar system forms the figure rotation to the smaller rotation of the binary star Sirius, what is the larger rotation to our smaller rotation at (6 _ 7)?

We have in our notes of last meeting noted two different structures for acceptance, (1) in the registration area (2) at the silent area which is completely dormant.

The former brought about by our wrong living and thinking leading to wrong breathing and the later gifted by the God and Nature and implanted in each living human being.

When this dormant structure of acceptance makes a mild movement as if awakening from deep slumber at a very elementary level, it is equivalent to “grace descending,“but there is no such a thing like grace, It is sheer correct living and thinking and correct breathing is established the hard way over a long period which mildly activates the dormant structure of acceptance but almost in all cases, this is beyond the threshold of awareness and seems to takes place suddenly.

But before anything could happen like this, the structure for acceptance (false) in the registration area should be broken down and should be disintegrated. This false structure for acceptance is harder than granite or hardened steel. In our earlier notes (1987) I have used the term Magnetic Point, one false and the other true, which I now call structure for acceptance only 3 SRB can totally disintegrate this false structure along with certain practices. But should be for all 24 hours over many life times.

This change in expression is for the reason that as a Magnetic Point, you may get the idea that it draws in the body/brain system such incoming impulses and events only that for within its spectrum. It may not convey that it also refuses to accept or admit within the body /brain system that which is not acceptable from its point of view i.e. by its structure for acceptance. This is true for all life including human beings. This is important to understand.

I have also stated earlier that it can accept in some cases to throw back (as an act of mockery) at the right time and place and so cunningly stored it in memory in the meantime. These leads to false religiosity and morality.

86

Page 88: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

This false structure for acceptance is the consolidated state residing in the four centres in the registration area of a certain intensity of rajas and tams (sattva if there any) with a range between a certain minus and plus intensity.

We shall now try to understand Pratyahara from two different stand points (1) “Pratyahara is the subjugation of the senses by the thinking instrument and their withdrawal from that which has hither to been their object”

A little earlier we had asked the question what is the larger rotation to our smaller rotation (6 - - 7)?

This larger rotation is the fortunate state of a thinking instrument which wants to work for the individual’s good. It so works because some state of sattva induces it to work, which forms a part of the structure for acceptance.

It can also in many cases (as in our days we find) actually reject but at the same time keep it as memory pattern to find out what happens, out of sheer curiosity and throw out as and when. This is the case of person shown in diagram I. But if it really works as a refined structure (i.e. less false) the individual will experience peace and relaxation.

In this method of Pratyahara the function is like a disjointing a pulley belt from a power shaft so that a part of the equipment stops moving and functioning. The pulley belt can be put on or removed by a hand operated bar. This is for person on diagram II stage who have come out of the formula 2:4:8:2 but who have yet not reached 5:2:2:1.

How does the larger circular movement work? As thought forms are created and developed they are thrown out of the system at point No 8 and they in turn become the incoming impulses of the other persons. This is the defective way of thinking and does not form a rotation. In a rotation the end meets the beginning. This is the normal impulse/reaction process.

The proper circular movement or rotation is impulse/ response. How does it function?

87

Page 89: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

As the thought forms are created but not developed and are thrown out of the body/brain system from point No. 8 they do not become the incoming impulses to other persons not bearing the individual’s intensities and so it is delivered to the source from where they had originated as incoming impulses because the structure for acceptance has not accepted such incoming impulses.

This described in the sutra as, “Subjugation of the senses by the thinking instrument”. Senses are the incoming impulses together with identical memory patterns.

So you understand why preaching, morality, co-operative like religion and philosophy are not readily accepted because the structure for acceptance at I.E.S.M. refuses to accept.

Also note that the rod that removes the pulley belt from the power shaft works automatically in case of persons who are at diagram I or IIIa stage for the former have no doubts as they are rooted in 2:4:8:2 and the later rooted in 5:2:2:1. It is for those who are at diagram II that a conscious method of by-pass has to be learnt. They are the seekers who time and again fail not knowing which way to go.

We can say that about 80% of people all over the world are in diagram I stage. There is no conflict in their minds and hearts. They live their primitive life even if they are in our modern age. About 19.9% are in diagram II stage. Good honest people but of time and again carried away by their emotions, anger, frustration etc. About o.1% are at diagram IIIA stage. These persons also have no conflict in their minds and hearts for they are established by 5:2:2:1. Only those who are at diagram II need scientific yoga practices to soon pass over to diagram IIIa stage. Scientific yoga excludes false religiosity and philosophy.

Note: The false structure for acceptance is the cause of or necessitates all forms existing however relative there structure i.e. a body with its false shape abd substance, it creates or necessitates a brain that is also false relatively with its false thinking and reasoning and it creates false ways of living. It creates false eyes and other false sense organs relatively and so the

88

Page 90: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

vision to that extent is false of whatever the eyes see and believe and the brain may understand is false to that extent. (We say, seeing is believing)

This false structure for acceptance whether it be of primitive man or the half primitive man with his scientific advancement or if a person is a little or more higher in the scale, yet it is a false structure for acceptance, though to a lesser extent but this does not create a true structure!

All such false human structure together with the false structure of other lower life demand or necessitate a planet to support such life and such a planet has also a false structure for acceptance which may be less false (than that of an average person) and so the planet itself will behave in a particular false manner rotating and revolving round a sun. This sun is also a necessity to support this planet and will also have a far less false structure than that the planet but not have a true structure of acceptance and this sun necessitates a galaxy in which the sun will exist. Granted this galaxy will have a less false structure than that of the sun nevertheless not a true structure.

All such planets and suns and galaxies with their false structure will exist in a Universe with the least false structure. Again we say that it is yet not a true structure. All that exist must have a false structure relatively. False structure is imbalance of qualities to a lesser or greater degree.

This false structure (relatively) of acceptance is applicable to all that can or does exist in the Universe, viz. Water, liquids, solids, gaseous, opaque, transparent, molecular or electronic etc. Nothing that exist is free from a false structure of acceptance to some degree i.e. imbalance of some type.

We take one example: Certain material will accept the passage of electricity, some heat, some of light, while others will reject, based on their structure for acceptance. This can happen automatically as it happens in living organism, lower life and in man. We denote this by automatic reflex action in a human being.

This relative false structure does not end with our objective universe. It penetrates the other two universes viz.Bhuvah and Swaha and there this structure may yet be less false yet it will be never a true structure in all three universes. Here we are concerned with our cellular objective universe. That is

89

Page 91: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

why the Shastras dismiss all the three universe as maya and in our diagram we have denoted this whole total universe comprising of the three universes as a ‘Bubble.

This false structure reaches ultimately the Ring Pass Not(major) the Mahakal where permanent seeds of all false structures of everything existing in the objective universe are found as if in deep freeze.

So ultimately if we observe properly the structure (that relatively false) for acceptance of a thing or form of life, is thing or form or life total memory of each life or species or forms etc. of the all the previous millions of life times or existence (total) but the shastras simply use one word, “Sanskaras.” little realised that it would require volumes to explain this word properly for him who would understand this one word from all its angles can be soon free.

This unfortunately has raised the much misunderstood term “maya” which does not mean “illusory” or not existing, because all these do exist and they do so because of a false structure for acceptance. The whole Existence is false with relative false structure and so there will always be an object and a subject, I and you will prevail.

The trouble however is that like a two way switch, either the false structure of acceptance work and so the true structure remains dormant or the true structure if it were to work would demand that the false structure be first disintegrated, for dormant state is not acceptable for it may receive some day. Disintegrate here means change imbalance to balance. This is why Sage Patanjali in Yoga Sutra warns the accepted disciple, Book IV (27), “Through force of habit however the mind will reflect other mental impressions and perceive objects of sensuous perception”.

(Force of habit means if false structure persists even in a mild degree or even dormant, we will act accordingly because it may get activated some times.)

If the false structure of an individual were to totally disintegrate, what would happen? Sage Patanjali informs us in Yoga Sutra, but first tells us how false structure necessitates, birth or existence, of a person or thing or form or life or awareness. Book IV (8). “From these three kinds of gunas (i.e. false structure or imbalance) emerge those forms which are necessary for the

90

Page 92: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

fruition of these effects.” Sanskaras, not only necessitating forms but areas also (planets, suns, etc.) to support such life and forms.

Sage Patanjali says, Book I (13),“So long as the roots (samsakaras) exists, their fruition will be birth, life and experience resulting in pleasure or pain”.

Further he says, Book IV (12),“The past and the present exists (it is not illusory) in reality. The form assumed in the time concept of the present is the result of developed characteristics (samskaras) and hold latent seeds of future quality (Future imbalance)”.

Then he says, what happens in the case of a person who has disintegrated the false structure or imbalance Book II (22),“In the case of a man who has achieved yoga, the objective universe ceases to be, yet it (objective universe) existeth still for those who are yet not free.” (Free from imbalance)

This also means proper scientific yoga practices can enable one to be free, “he who has achieved yoga”. This false structure is the bondage. To be free means we reduce imbalance to balance.

Now whatever that is experienced through the true structure in contrast to what is experienced through false structure, is unknown to all with relative (false) structure or imbalance and so they only can mean or say or philosophise and use words like, emptiness, void, Nirvana, Sunyata, or nothingness. What else can they say or do for they cannot even imagine what can be experienced through the true structure or balance and so man parrot like repeat these words and write scholarly books!

If false structure is disintegrated totally can an individual exist anywhere? Cosmic law demand that he goes even beyond the Mahakal i.e. bursts out of the “Bubble”!! In such a person’s case nothing exists in the deep freeze anymore to hold him captive in the “Bubble”. He may of his own free will and choice take birth for purpose and nothing of the relative false structure can have any effect on him; to be a Christ or Buddha! (So can Christ feel pain on the cross or is that the misunderstanding of the Gospel writers).

But to come back to the subject of Kundalini as per our understanding from our notes. The two forces at (6 - 7) fuse and rise the central passage Sushumna. Many claim that when this force reaches the hollow of the brain,

91

Page 93: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

whatever that is described in the different ways amounts to shattering of the false structure or imbalance as we now would understand.

Till it reaches the hollow of the brain the shattering continues, till the false structure is ultimately disintegrated. This is the highest state of human achievement. “He who has achieved yoga and we on finding such rare person, so high and different, normally acknowledge him as God’s incarnation!

But all that the human mind and brain can understand with a false structure including what is stated above is also ultimately false!! God does not incarnate at anytime, anywhere, under any circumstance or for any reason!!

But what can human minds and brains with false structures understand? Therefore it is not proper to blame how a human being lives or thinks or acts or believes. That is why Buddha’s great compassion for all living creature including human beings.

In an immense maze of false structure that is wide, wide objected universe, to find an invisible point of Truth is unthinkable! We must therefore be satisfied with whatever we can grasp including the meaning of Kundalini of God’s incarnation; or of ultimate Truth. Om Satyam Param Dhimahi !!! Let this quest continue as the mantra signifies ---- eternally, life after life.

PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL.

Dt. 23 -02 -1989.

Some of you may think that I have spoken all that I had to speak on 3 SRB, may know that all the notes, each month of 1989 will be based on 3 SRB proceeding step by step and eventually ignite the Kundalini Shakti within the body/brain system.

But let not this igniting be your aim! Let it be an effect due to the continuous rhythmic living. Since 3 SRB forms base and foundation of that beautiful structure’s Transformation and then even beyond that i.e. the ultimate freedom and mukti from all births and deaths, we shall discover how your spaceship now lying inert and helpless on the matter ground will begin to soar and fly into deep space thanks to 3 SRB.

You will surely experience another and higher dimension. But it calls for sincere practices and total loyalty to 3 SRB. But again I have to say, let not this higher dimensions and higher experience be your aim but a Natural consequence of this beautiful body/brain state. Those who cannot appreciate the wonderful possibilities of this body/brain system do not know the kindness of the creator.

Today you may be content to have total health and calming of the turbulency at the I.E.S.M. centres, but soon you will aspire for much more. Everything depends on your individual sincere efforts. I can only show you the direction in which to travel and at the best can tell you what to expect and what to avoid - — I cannot do more than that.

The rest depends on you, for you possess autonomy deep down in your body/brain system, deep down in each nerve cell and tissue and which in concentrated measure forms your structure for acceptance and resides in the fore-brain we call I.E.S.M. centres. Therefore it will be your wish, how fast or how slow you will travel and also whether you will travel or not travel at all.

The programme of 3 SRB is necessary, I feel, in context to today’s world conditions prevalent and in particular for those aspirants in search of Truth and higher aspects of life. It must also answer whether artificially 3 SRB conditions and effects can or cannot be duplicated and if not why not? I have

Page 95: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

been asked many pointed questions and I shall try to answer a few of them here.

It is very satisfying that medical science day by day finds the many biological rhythms of the body/brain system.

It finds now the rhythm of heart, the rhythm of the pacer that keeps the heart beat at seventy-two a minute. If regular, the circulation and digestive rhythms, the rhythm of nerves, the rhythm in the various areas of the brain and in various organs of the body, the rhythm of production of various enzymes, harmones and digestive juices, the various biological clocks that works so accurately and finally the rhythm of breath which is yet to be confirmed.

The rhythm e.g. of the different vibrations of the seven colours from violet to red, but in rhythm produce white light and no sooner this rhythm is manipulated we get various shades of colour. In life this is also necessary—how to live with colour and how to live with white light!

In ancient India Upnishadic Age before Lord Buddha’s birth the svar/nadishastra discovered these various rhythms and also studied why these rhythms were lost leading to various ailments and how they could be restored. The culmination of their splendid wisdom and knowledge was the finding and establishing of the all-purpose breath which we term as 3SRB.

Expecting these rhythm to go haywire, Nature and God has kindly inbuilt in the body brain system the Immune Defence system which along with the help of parasympathetic system puts many of these rhythm back to normal. This also, those ancient sages had known and studied. But when this immune defence system is over worked (more so in our days of stress and tension) It break down and fails to maintain its own rhythm then the body/brain system is helpless. When this system totally fails, we experience what we now call A.I.D.S. i.e. Absence of Immunisation Defence System and/or various other types of ailments and pains, but we think in our days we know so much!!

We try various medical dosages and by certain yoga or science practices to re-set these rhythms but it is not possible to do so if the immune defence system itself has lost its own rhythm.

94

Page 96: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

There is however one way as discovered by the ancient sages of the Upnishadic Age—the svar/nadishastra and the all-purpose breath which we term as 3 SRB. But it has to be established all twenty-four hours as a continuous rhythm breath and then only can it maintain immunisation defence system and the various other rhythm of the body/brain system.

The normal breath that we breathe has lost its original rhythm of 3 SRB is not a new way to breath but to once again establish original rhythm that we have lost. It is the original breath.

If one continues with 3 SRB all twenty-four hours it will resume the damage caused to the immune defence system and also the body/brain system. In our days of stress and tension and the sense of human being increasing due to natural evolution, breath has totally lost its original rhythm and granthis formed in the body/brain system.

Later in India the various Yoga sprang especially the Yoga and with it the expert practices of asanas and pranayamas and other various practices. This swept across the land like fire and people have totally forgotten all about svar/nadishastra and with it the all-purpose breath which we understand as 3SRB.

To establish this original breath—3SRB and which will enable a normal human being to find that:

(1) One can enjoy good physical, mental, emotional and psychic health. i.e. Total health.

(2) One can find peace of mind i.e. the turbulences in the thinking instrument is calmed down—the intensity and frequencies of emotions and unwanted thoughts will be reduced.

(3) Slowly one embraces automatically and without any motive on good and higher path of life without false religiosity and blind adherence to rites, ceremonies and rituals.

This is the basic aspect of 3 SRB. This is meant for the modern man in the street all over the world.

The human body is as complete as the Universe Itself. In this human body also chemicals, electrical, magnetic, electronic, super electronic and nuclear

95

Page 97: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

forces are taking place. Science has knowledge of electrical, magnetic and chemical effects. Till it finds out and confirms electronic, super electronic and nuclear forces working within the human body—it will be treated as fiction.

Q.1. There are people who can be classed as ruthless, heartless, seasoned criminals, godless, greedy, over ambitious like Changizkhan, Taimur, Hitler –can 3 SRB change these types of people to become sane and good citizens?

A.1. Yes, provided such people on their own show an inclination to give a fair trial to the programme of 3 SRB and having come to twenty-four hours- a continue for twelve months more at the minimum, at first coming to one hour of conscious practice---and continue their interest in 3 SRB, they would then unfailingly show tendencies towards spirituality and sainthood!

Q.2. If 3 SRB can be enforced on person by some scientific manipulation using instrument or implanting a needle in the diaphragm and make the diaphragm work as in 3 SRB, it should yield the same results. Then why this talk of yoga-religion—philosophy—morals etc.?

A.2. The answer is No. It is not possible. It cannot give the same result.

Q.3. In the eye is placed an implant, in the body is inserted a needle and the pacer is carried outside or even the pacer is implanted for the heart and science has thus obtained very good results. So why not in this case?

A.3. Since it is a vital point, it be needs clearer reply, even taking help of science. Each human being has created for himself or herself a structure of acceptance in the conscious forebrain through long periods of living and thinking in a particular manner based on individual autonomy i.e. what to accept and what to reject.

This false structure is first to be broken down. This cannot be arbitrarily broken down by another person or by some instrument of science, nor by hypnosis.

Such artificial change will appear to function for a short time (maybe) but will pass away and old structure will once again prevail.Criminals and such others have a many strong and firm ‘structure of acceptance’ of their own.

96

Page 98: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Q.4. Why not if certain scientific methods and instruments continue to operate diaphragm?

A.4. Presuming that instruments are embedded in such persons and they work an electronic battery all twenty –four hours it will still be not possible.

As stated earlier, such persons must on their own come to the conclusion that trying out 3SRB programme is worthwhile; then only it is possible.

The 3 SRB programme: to consciously breathe for five minutes daily, increasing by five minutes every fortnight and so to come to one hour of conscious 3 SRB. Over a period of six months or more, as the individual case may be.

Then only such persons are helped to twenty-four hours continuous breathing but here too their willing acceptance is necessary. They must at first complete the 3 SRB programme as stated earlier.

What happens when a person subjected himself or herself willingly to this discipline? Each individual nerve cell on receiving information, then decides whether or not to pass the message along.

In case of bodily disturbances, it may not hesitate normally but to change an established breathing habit for an entire new one and if it does not hesitate and so the whole chain of nerve cells do not hesitate, means there is a sort of acceptance i.e. an inner consent. This is the autonomy of each nerve cell.

This point is very vital; because it is this autonomy which eventually forms the structure for acceptance of an individual and such programme of 3 SRB when accepted, decides to break down a wrong structure and in turn to build or fabricate a more correct one.

Anything supposed to be forced on an individual even with scientific instrument for diaphragm movement, against the structure for acceptance will soon erode and pass away e.g. a criminal if subjected to Satsang and automatic diaphragm movements through instruments, for some time may appear to be very much changed but sooner or later will find his or her own old ways prevailing.

97

Page 99: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

If a tiger cub is fostered by human being it will be well for some time till (a) accidently it tastes human blood one day or (b) gets a call from a tigress! In all cases human or animal, the structure for acceptance will always prevail because it is deep down in the body/brain system and nothing happens for the better till such time this wrong structure is broken down and better structure is fabricated for better living.

Here we bring in science, “Can human being be cloned? Human beings are far more complicated than plants or frogs. One difficulty is that mature human cell seem, to lose the full genetic potential they had when they were part of an early embryo. A cloned infant will have the same genes as the person who donated initial cell, but it will not grow up to be a copy of the donor, because you cannot reproduce the same environment of the donor. That has already become past.”

Q.5. So far so good, but there must be many ways this structure for acceptance can be broken down, unless you claim that 3 SRB is the only one method to build a more correct structure consciously and break the false structure !

A.5. There are many artificial ways. Monks and nuns of all religious order the world over try in a way to break this wrong structure for acceptance. Millions do try in the hope of heaven or fear of Hell and perforce some are indoctrinated from early age in some manner.

But no one has tried to fathom what goes on under the surface of these minds. It leads to various disorders of the body/brain system, frustration, guilt complex, closed minds, great irritation and even silent and mischievous misbehaviour and in many cases a life of Dr.Jickle and Mr.Hide and many just exists mechanically like human robots. These are all ruined lives. They will require many lifetimes to be normal again and start all over again; because Nature cannot accept any artificiality in any manner! This 3SRB can do it in maximum 2-3 years if the individual is willing.

And also there are many other artificial ways of religion, philosophy and yoga etc. - and I know that more sins are committed in the name of religion, philosophy, yoga and now even in the name of science!

98

Page 100: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

On the other hand anyone who practice 3SRB programme by one’s own wish and will or choice without any hope of reward or fear, like in any scientific experiment, that one can practice will experience for one’s self. The results in all cases will be positive.

Q.6. Accepting what you have said, what will one see or find after reaching twenty-four hours of 3SRB carried out for minimum twelve months?

A.6. The most apparent findings that one cannot and/or experience are (1) improvement in physical, mental, emotional health i.e. total health. Criminals and persons like Hitler, Changizkhan cannot enjoy total health (2) the turbulency in thought processes will be immensely reduced.

The intensity of the same type of wrong thoughts together with their frequencies will be much reduced before they ultimately ceases to disturb the individual. Such is not the case with criminal minds.

(1) and (2) are noticeable and can be tried and tested and will show results in all cases and not in a few cases only; because 3 SRB is scientific and has to give the same results; besides the changes for better taking place within biologically, which we do not seem to notice or experience because our awareness is yet not up-graded sufficiently.

Q.7. Does it mean that there are higher aspects of 3 SRB suggested here?

A.7. If Yoga, religion, philosophy, theology etc. have any claim to bring that about; the shortest and surest way is through 3 SRB.

Q.8. Will you be more specific?

A.8. We as yet do not understood what mind is. “The word mind falls outside the realm of science i.e. mind suggest something too elusive ethereal to be pinned down and some issues including mind/brain questions are really philosophical rather than scientific. As such they may be unresolved”

Science says that brain is in a way a computer, but in many ways it is not because “no computer can drastically alter its own programme”.

Besides we know today that substances with small molecules including oxygen, alcohol and many anaesthetics can cross the brain/body barrier. “Unfortunately there is no way to observe a living human brain directly”.

To explain higher possibilities of 3 SRB we will have to mention what may not be strictly scientific today. e.g. what is our purpose to our birth?

(1) “Judgement is the assignment to the disembodied self, of a new body in accordance with its records”

(1) “If a man can arrive there with full knowledge of what he has been and what he wants to be, choice will be open to him”. What is this choice?

(2) “During this time (i.e. between death and next birth) the self is bodiless and in this state is able to perceive as real different parts of cosmos unattainable to it, when attached to a body.”

A. If we can interpret (1) (2) -- and (3) we find conscious death i.e. a self is conscious at the time of fabrication of the fresh bodies for the next birth and so he or she has a choice—i.e. he or she can set aside karma or destiny—“pain which is yet to come can be warded off “says Patanjali in yoga sutra.

A. It means also conscious sleep practices which ultimately lead to conscious death practices, and the dimension of understanding then are very real and which is not possible when the self is within a body.

To make (A) and (B) possible 3SRB has to be continued for a decade-more or less depending on the individual’s efforts.

This calls for going backward in memory and see our present life till we come to the stage of primeval scream at birth. If we can logically go backwards further, we reach the stage of conception (Abhimanyoo) of the first master cell. In a way we are performing a rewinding process of video tape. (Rewinding)

So what is conception? “Conception itself belongs to a different process viz. Regeneration. It is a mysterious act, the invisible and intangible signature (samskars) of an individual body, acting from an unknown dimension of time.

Page 102: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Whence this signature comes and by what material means, are among the greatest mysteries of Existence. And only later we see that it (signature) is born through time, precisely from the death agony of him, who is about to be conceived”.

If we can logically go further backwards i.e. beyond the stage of conception, we reach our disembodied state after our last death and before our present birth. This is a scientific practice of conscious death. At this stage (if we can reach it with our awareness intact) our present body will be found in a state of clinical death. This practice will be preparation for being conscious at our next death but such practices are done under guidance and in presence of a transcendental master.

Our structure for acceptance not knowing what is real or what is the truth, due to false accumulation of knowledge and false religious thoughts and beliefs, would time and again interfere and would prevent experiencing real Truth about birth and death, when in a body. 3SRB can help here.

The Tibetan Book of Dead says, “Thou art actually endowed with power of miraculous action which is not however the fruit of any Samadhi, but a power come to thee naturally”. This can also be the fruit of 3SRB.

“The seed of man appears to emerge from the molecular world, but the cellular body which grows from is absolutely confine here and if man is nothing but a physical body he can have no communication with his invisible world of origin until death”

But then again at that time he should be aware, which he is normally not! To make that possible he must (a) up-grade his awareness (b) refine his energies and make way for higher energies to flow into his body/brain system. (C)Remove all granthies so that the past negative memory patterns do not disturb him in furture and with the help of 3SRB can practice conscious sleep and conscious death, because if he is not sufficiently prepared for actual moment of death he will never know and understand the invisible world of his origin.

Dt. 30-03-1989.

As said earlier, all our notes will be in relation to the programme of 3 SRB and its actual effects. Sincere efforts of an individual will show progress in three stages, depending on his or her intensity of efforts. As sage Patanjali would say, “Tireless endeavour”.

(1) The first effect noticeable is total good health and substantially silence of the turmoil in the registration area including the working of I.E.S.M. and experiencing peace of mind at all times and under all circumstances and free of all stress and tensions.

(1) Those aspirants who are in search of Truth and higher aspects of life will experience what 3 SRB can give if continued.

(2) The final exposition of scientific yoga leading to conscious sleep and conscious death. “He who dies not before his death- perishes when he is dead”.

It is to be firmly and clearly understood that this world is not our Home. We come here again and again to learn to be consciously free from the bondage of body/brain system cellular at present.

So the only purpose of birth is to know how to end this seemingly unending sequence of birth and death. We have also to learn what we mean by the pronounce we, you, they, he, she etc. — and these are used only in the bubble. Not after we reach our celestial Home.

Later in other areas of the Universe or in other molecular and/or nuclear universe also, we will have to work again to be free from a similar sequence of birth and death from those types of body/brain systems of molecular and/or nuclear substances.

Many friends have asked me to trace the physiological and biological nerve linkages that give total health, stress free and the turbulence substantially reducing in the brain without painful and fruitless efforts.

Before a reply is possible, it is necessary to quote from science sources:-

“Experts know a great deal about the nervous system and a little about the way they connect us with the brain but they know nothing at all about the relation of brain to awareness” (Because awareness is not the property or quality of the brain).

It can reasonably be assumed that the information that reaches the brain, is transmitted through some further system of communication to the seat of awareness”.

“The ideal awareness is not concerned with survival and personality success, it takes these for granted and concern itself with qualities which are not connected with time and space (i.e. worldly aspects) but with intrinsic worth of the state of awareness itself” (This is the reason why you have been given the five up-grading of awareness exercises.)

The reason for the above quotations is that they lead to five very vital questions:

(1) What is awareness itself, not the function or effects of awareness through body/brain system.

(2) Where is the seat of awareness in the body/brain system?

(3) Is such awareness the inbuilt or inherent quality of the brain? (Besides matter awareness).

(4) If not, from what source and how does the brain borrows higher awareness?

(5) What part does 3 SRB play and up to what limits of possibilities can it take an individual?

Unless we answer these questions and understand them, our life’s purpose is not fulfilled. We as seekers after Truth seek the way to transform and we should be satisfied with nothing less than that.

103

Page 105: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

By the way, what is Transformation? The answer to that requires us to know and understand what is actually transformed!

The inner essence we call Divine Fragment or what is normally called Soul, cannot be transformed because it is far beyond stage of transformation.

This obviously means that our state i.e. the state of body/brain system i.e. the state of our awareness itself is to be transformed! (Refer the last quotation.)

Why do we say so? Because with our five senses and our five sense organs and present state of brain development and our present state of awareness itself we are in no position with all our sophisticated instruments to understand the Universe we live in or the why of our Existence or how best we can make any progress and find our way out of this giant maze!

To be able to know and understand this, we need total Transformation of the state of our body/brain system together with a total change in the state of awareness itself which at no stage or moment should sink below a very high and rigidly maintained standard of awareness—sleeping or awake!

In the last month’s notes we have noted that “The word mind falls outside the realm of science.” It means that almost the whole world equates brain with mind and uses it freely as internal exchange of words.

If you refer our notes of 86/87 you will note that three type of element enter our body/brain system besides our normal oral food and drink but we fail to make proper use of these valuable elements. Even digestion of food is not proper though helped by Nature to a great extent.

These three elements are (1) Air, (2) Incoming Impulses or perceptions, (3) Mind i.e. inter-exchange at certain area in the body/brain system.

“No man can acquire the enormous supply of new energy necessary for self transformation either eating more or better (so called satvik food). For this he must turn to other forms of human nourishment i.e. air, perceptions, mind. In case of all these, digestion is not automatic and is not assured by Nature. It depends entirely on the degree of awareness of the receiver”

104

Page 106: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

The ancient sages aware of these three means of human nourishment. For (1) Air, they have various pranayamas and as per svar-nadishastra the all-purpose breath we call 3 SRB.

For (2) perception they have various methods of dharna and dhyana and

For (3) they have the various practices of inter-exchange between the human brain and the Infinite Mind or all pervading – the Chittie—lower practices are included in arousing of the Kundalini Shakti - i.e. inter exchange between lower brains or chakras and Infinite Mind.

The Infinite Mind is same in all the areas of the Universe that flow through each body/brain system yet has widely different effect in each individual case depending on the state of brain areas. This does not depend on so called education!!

Brain indeed is structured to do most important and by far the most varied of function (some of them even damaging to the body/brain system). But to say that brain has awareness of its own or makes us aware because of its own contents of awareness is totally false! These important fact must be properly understood.

The human body/brain system is able to create higher type of energies but in the present human state, they are of no consequence; besides the quantities are quite insignificant.

In some rare cases they are created and used by the organism but science today has no instruments to test and find them and record them. The higher human possibilities are therefore not easily explainable or traceable along biological or physiological pathways or nerve linkages.

Now coming back to 3 SRB, the 1st step is to give a fair trial with an open mind (as one would carry out a scientific experiment). Through the programme of 3 SRB.

After it reaches 24 hours, to continue for at least 12 more months. Here the 3 SRB experiment ends, but individuals are expected to continue for the rest of their lives as the original correct rhythmic breathing.

105

Page 107: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

Now what remains is the tracing of biological nerve leakages because of which 3 SRB is able to do what it holds out is possible.

In the front lobe, (the registration area) thoughts and emotions are closely related and that they are so because of the actual physical linkages by nervous system or limbic system – The principal emotional centre in the brain and the other brain structure, says science.

The limbic system: - “includes the thalamus which relate the information from the senses to the cortex and back, the hypothalamus which regulates sexual urge, motivational states, and performs the immunisation work for the organism, amygdale which control anxiety, and fear and the hypo campus which plays a role in learning and memory. The ancient sages know this area of the brain and said that 72,000 pairs of nerves (i.e. one sympathetic and one Para-sympathetic) reached this area for important functions.”

The frontal lobe enables us to control our emotions. The limbic system brings about chemical and electrical changes in many part of the brain and thus entered the way people experience and express their emotions in thoughts, say science.

When we talk of frontal lobes we talk of the registration area and the I.E.S.M. centres and thought development processes as we know that thoughts and breathing are interrelated so we change if our present breathing and replace it with 3 SRB for all twenty-four hours it will have the needed effect on the limbic system in which is infect the immunisation defence system and keep it in proper working order.

Should the immunisation defence system itself break-down, the organism is then helpless and open to all sorts of virus attacks.

Here it will be interesting to know that as per the shastra, during life, there is an inter-exchange between certain brain areas and chittii. e.i. the infinite mind, but after death there is no such interexchange and so to examine either Einstein’s or even Buddha’s brain is meaningless.

106

Page 108: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

When the individual is alive, there is an inter-exchange between certain brain areas as also between certain minor brains or chakras and the Infinite Mind Chittie flowing through our body/brain system as our individual mind.

This inter-exchange in each individual case differs and so is of a different quality and texture, depending on each individual’s code and structure of acceptance.

This inter-exchange makes one a genius, or a saint or an ordinary person or an idiot. But all inter exchange ceases at death rather the moment this inter-exchange ceases totally one dies, i.e. one is pronounced dead. The brain is dead.

In all persons some type of inter-exchange right or wrong takes place at the registration area with its I.E.S.M. centres.

This difference we see between millions of brains depending on the quality of inter-exchange and the area or areas of inter-exchange In each case the brain borrows intelligence, awareness and even ready answer to problems from the Infinite Mind, rather the whole body/brain system borrows intelligence, awareness in different grades from the flowing, inter penetrating Infinite Mind.

The Infinite Mind is pure awareness of the highest grade, all knowing; within the limits of existence, and compassing all the three universes i.e. within the Bubble. But it is for science to develop instruments to register such inter-exchange.

The shastras state certain areas of the brain and minor brains of the body/brain system where Infinite Mind does or can have inter –exchange.

Infinite Mind does or can have inter-exchange normally in (1) the frontal lobe But one has to consciously develop inter-exchange in (2) left mid-brain, (3) right mid-brain (4) unconscious rear brain or memory pool areas (5) in the brain stem or oblongata (6) deep absolute mid-brain.

It can take place, besides, in either one or more of the chakras or centres called minor brains. All these need conscious practices.

107

Page 109: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

When with the help of conscious practices, we bring about inter-exchange in the minor brains it leads to various siddhis and is also known as the rising of the Kundalini Shakti. But when inter-exchange takes place in certain higher areas of the brain it leads to soul power.

It can normally also takes place in certain position of left mid-brain for body/brain up-keep automatically to some extent.

It is worthwhile to quote, “Unprepared man would never experience the life of the higher worlds at all, even though by arrangement of the Universe, each man is entitled to do so. It is his birth right which he sells for the mess of pottage of material attachment. So it means that a person has to be most intensely prepared and trained during life.

So out of the five questions we seem to have answered (1) Awareness itself-pure awareness is of the Infinite Mind and do not know anything about it till we can experience it (2) The seat of awareness in normal case is the front lobe and so is only conscious brain, but could be in any inter-exchange area consciously brought about. (3) No - there is no inbuilt awareness in the brain of human or sub-human. (4) Infinite Mind is the source and method is of conscious inter-exchange in different areas which is to be consciously and correctly practiced. (5) Unless 3 SRB is established for all twenty-four hours and at least there after for one more year the techniques for inter-exchange are not possible and so 3 SRB is fundamental cause of all progress that can be possible. Here many try different pranayamas in association with certain asanas.

The brain is like the moon, shining and throwing its light on the dark side of the Earth but in fact the moon has no light of its own but the borrowed and reflected light from the Sun.

Similarly the brain reflects the borrowed awareness from the Infinite Mind, however incorrect to be the inter-exchange in the frontal brain lobe!?

The higher aspects of intelligence could be in sahasrar inter-exchange—the genius- but the higher soul aspects could be in Bindu and/or silent area and or in the absolute mid-brain.

108

Page 110: DISCOURSES  · Web viewom satyam param dhimahi ! discourses [meeting papers] 5 :published: soliji yoga foundation. yaksha shree complex, 2nd flr., chhani jakatnaka, baroda-390 002.

When individual autonomy is not disturbed within the body/brain system, the relation between breath and thoughts is also not disturbed. The proper rhythmic i.e. 3 SRB brings about and establishes a rhythm in thoughts and emotions leading to total health of the individual and the turbulency in the registration area including I.E.S.M centres is substantially reduced to help in proper inter-exchange taking place between higher brain areas and Infinite Mind becoming possible.

These are elementary benefits and the early stages lead to lower psychic powers from which one has to strictly keep away.

When 3 SRB is continued and conscious inter-exchange established at certain higher areas great psychic powers as enumerated by sage Patanjali in Yoga Sutra are also possible. He uses ancient language in describing them. Even these are to be set aside. He uses the word dharna and dhyana-depending on the area of inter-exchange process.

This clearly means that the so called rising of Kundalini leads only to lower psychic power or Siddhis as long as the inter-exchange is in the minor brains or Chakras of the body/brain system.

Real inter-exchange has to be consciously brought about for experiencing soul powers- Atman Shakti and is beyond and higher than the state of Kundilini.
