SS11 EXPLORATIONS AT A GLANCE This course is designed so as to introduce students to a range of course and academic offerings that include: 20 th Century World History, Polics, Law & Government, Human Geography, and World Religions. Students will hone skills in wring & communicaon with a parcular focus on crical & creave thinking. Broad Focus Quesons (Learning Outcomes) 1. How does the polical spectrum work? 2. What are our power structures (including Constuons) and how do these affect the kind of society we live in? 2. What is the purpose of a system (rule?) of law? 3. How can Canadians make change at different levels of government, and what needs changing? 4. How are federal and provincial (and other) governments formed in Canada & the USA? 5. What role do mainstream and social media play in my understanding of polical debate and discourse in Canada/USA?
