Chris McSwain Chris McSwain is currently pursuing his passion for helping others understand the importance of integrated benefits delivery, supplier partnerships, and human capital. He provides the argument and the tools for assisting HR & Benefits professionals in the management of the internal and external health benefits supply chain. Chris McSwain recently retired from Walmart. He served from 2010-2014 as Vice President, U.S. Benefits supporting 1.4M associates. Initial innovation areas of focus included high engagement wellbeing, retail clinic development, pharmacy-enabled accountable care home, centers of excellence with bundled pricing and direct contracting, accountable care innovations, and direct to consumer healthcare marketplace utilizing social media. In 2007, McSwain joined Whirlpool Corporation as Sr. Director, Global Benefits. While at Whirlpool, McSwain and his team completed a large number of strategic initiatives, driving innovation across each area of the Global Benefits team resulting in a national Total Health and Productivity award. During this time, McSwain published three key documents including 1) a manuscript supporting Human Capital, Personal Value and the Health, Wealth, Performance Portfolio; 2) a DVD with IBI titled Winning Together: Turning Vendors into Partners to Improve Workforce Health and Productivity; and 3) an innovative Culture of Health Change Acceleration model. In January 2008, Business Insurance Magazine named Chris one of 20 people on the 2008 People to Watch List. Previously, McSwain served as Director, Compensation and Benefits for SCANA Corporation. Team accomplishments included leading SCANA through a Total Health & Productivity journey. Completed initiatives at SCANA included a resource center which houses an on-site Pharmacy with robot, wellness and EAP coaches. Other
