MALAYSIA ON THE GO

1. 0 Introduction

A travel agency is a private retailer or public service that provides travel and tourism related services to the public on behalf of suppliers such as activities, airlines, car rentals, cruise lines, hotels, railways, travel insurance and package tour. in addition to dealing with ordinary tourists most travel agencies have a separated department devoted to making travel arrangements for business travellers and some travel agencies specialize in commercial and business travel only. there are also travel that serve as general sales agents for foreign travel companies, allowing them to have offices in countries other than where their headquarters are located.

Travel agent industry has been quite varied, and has changed considerably over the years. It’s very interesting to see how travel agencies have evolved over the years - with the very first modern travel agency appearing in the 19th century. This may seem to be a long time ago, but it actually isn’t. Most people forget the travel agent industry is still relatively new and modern, despite starting back in the 1900’s.

Our country Malaysia is rich in natural treasures and hereditary and is not lacking in modern development. Therefore, not surprising that the tourism sector in the country can grow rapidly. Airports, railway stations and commuter trains as well as large jetties in Malaysia has never been deserted by foreign tourists. This has been bolstered by the government's campaign of Visit Malaysia Year conducted under the theme 'Malaysia Truly Asia'.

Tourist arrivals in the country is able to raise the economic status. Obviously, their arrival will be able to generate income for the country. Their presence will cause the authorities to develop infrastructure more comfortable so that foreign tourists are not deterred from coming to our country. It will directly provide employment opportunities to the people of Malaysia. For example, if a hotel is built, then the available vacancies can be filled by locals. Career opportunities that are growing like mushrooms after the rain will be able to reduce the unemployment rate in Malaysia. When the unemployment rate decreases then the economy will also be improved.

Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz, Minister of Tourism and Culture Ministry has said that the government has set a target of 29 million tourist arrivals in tourist revenue to RM89 billion in 2015 in conjunction with the Year Festival (MyFest 2015). This is due to tourism being a major driver of foreign exchange. With the arrival of foreign tourists, it can get a rate of return of a country's foreign exchange and more easily. Each visitor brings foreign currency to shop and pay the cost of accommodation for residing in a destination. Tourists will also use public facilities, buy souvenirs, food, drinks and so on. These activities can add income countries. Next, the money earned by the state can be used for economic development, tourism facilities and physical development of the country.

among other 7.01 million people who are outside of the labour force.

Recently, Malaysian people have been taught facing on the issue of high unemployment rates among the local graduates. This issue has been a phenomenon to the current news as it has been aired on the television, newspaper, internet and others agency. Firstly, the main problem ability of the unemployment among Malaysia graduates is the lack of skills and experiences. Nowadays a lot of theoretical subject have been taught without implementing the practical sides and without skills you have nothing to apply to solve problem efficiently. Then, they are lacking of English command skill and poor communication skills that make them difficult to get a good job. Next, the

courses that they are took was not suitable and relevant to the industry. Thus, it is very hard for them to get appropriate job in the market. Secondly, another problem of unemployment is Malaysia graduates demand too much on salary at the unreasonable. They want the salary more than what they are deserve. Besides that, they want a job location must near from their house because easy for them to commute from their house to the work place. Thus, employer are expecting graduates who with experiences from different areas. Last but not least, employer does not believe in fresh graduate’s ability. Fresh graduates have no experiences. The employer nowadays requires graduates to have some work experiences in order to requirement of qualified. Next, employer expectation of fresh graduates is also one of the factors that lead to the unemployment of graduates. Thus, graduates have low confidence or low soft esteem especially in job interview. In conclusion, fresh graduates from universities or colleges must prepare themselves in term of mental and physical before getting into the workingworld. Thus, all of skills and experiences, demanding on salary and employer does not believe in fresh graduates are the causes of unemployment among Malaysian graduates.

7. 2. 2 Trivago

Figure 3 : TRIVAGO

Our team of over 950 creative, driven entrepreneurs, from all corners of the globe, wakes up every day to build a hotel search that is straight forward, fast and unbiased— so you know exactly what your options are. For us, it’s all about trust and authenticity. Whether we are helping you to find your ideal hotel, developing an app or someone’s career, we put great importance on creating a company that empowers everyone to get more out of life. We live for the ‘ah ha’ moments. We are driven by passion. We feel that we are never wise, never great, never done. We focus on building empowering, consumer-centric products, which make the world more transparent, more fair, more individual. We wouldn’t be able to enjoy all the opportunities and experiences trivago has to offer without being able to give back. We collectively created trivago 1% in order to donate one percent of our annual profits to select charities. Whether it’s building schools in Myanmar, gathering gifts during the holidays for children less fortunate than ourselves or raising awareness throughout Movember, we are always looking for opportunities to give.

During the first half of the year, trivago teammates present projects that they feel passionate about and rally others to contribute their ‘vote’ to the cause. The company then donates the allotted portion of the annual profits to each charity, depending on the number of votes from the trivago team.

7. 2. 3 Expedia

Figure 4 : EXPEDIA

Expedia.com is a travel website owned by Expedia Inc. The website can be used to book airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals, cruises, vacation packages and various attractions and services via the internet or telephone agents. The site uses multiple global distribution systems like Amadeus or the Sabre reservation systems for flights and for hotels, Worldspan and Pegasus, along with its own hotel reservation system for contracted, bulk-rate reservations.

The website initially launched on October 22, 1996 as the first Microsoft internet property. In 2001, Bill Gates decided to spin off the property to become a public company. Rich Barton became its CEO and Lloyd Frink who used to work for Richard at Microsoft joined the now independent company. In July 2001, USA Networks, Inc. bought Expedia from Microsoft. In December 2010, listings for AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines and American Eagle Airlines, were removed from Expedia's site. The decision resulted from a dispute over the degree of access to the site's customers.[4] AMR reversed its decision in April 2011, allowing tickets to once again be sold through the aggregate site. In June 2014, Expedia started accepting bit coins. In September 2014, Expedia Inc. partnered with Citigroup and created the Expedia+ card where members can earn bonus points and earn benefits and priority customer service through the website.

8. 2 Design Method

8. 2. 1 Analysis

The idea was to create a travel agency that will solve the current issue in Malaysia. The rate of Malaysian tourism is getting low every year and the issue of high rate of unemployed Malaysian people. Even today in Malaysia tourist end up walking to the destination that they want to go regardless how far was it. The way to solve this problem is creating an apps that will promote Malaysia so that more tourist will visit Malaysia. This apps will provide the tourist all the information that they will need such as nearest public transportation, cheap hotel and best local foods. The apps itself is not only for tourist, Malaysian also can use the apps because 4/5 Malaysian people that still don't know how to get around Malaysia using public transportation.

8. 2. 2 Design

The design is based current style. Simple and minimal design with using simple icon and smooth colour.

8. 2. 3 Development

This apps will be design in Adobe Illustrator. A full-featured drawing program for Windows and Macintosh from Adobe. It provides sophisticated tracing and text manipulation capabilities as well as colour separations. After designing the interface in Adobe Illustrator the apps will be construct in a software called Justinmind. Justinmind is a prototyping tool is an authoring tool for web and mobile app prototypes and high-fidelity website wireframes. It offers capabilities typically found in diagramming tools like drag and drop placement, re-sizing, formatting and export/import of widgets. In addition, it has features for annotating widgets and defining interactions such as linking, animations, conditional linking, calculations, simulating tab controls, show/hide elements and database simulation with real data. There is support for high-fidelity simulation of Rich Internet Applications, and app prototypes can be simulated on the actual devices too, thanks to Justinmind app. Justinmind can generate HTML prototypes that can be displayed in any browser, and Microsoft Word specification documents.

8. 1 ConclutionIn conclusion, the tourism sector could cause our country to develop rapidly, but the sector also have a big impact on the local culture. So, all parties must work together to prevent the negative impact brought by foreign tourists. The tourism sector is expected to be developed and only leave a positive impact on local communities.
