Dear,

As an intrinsic part of Midwest life, basketball is well received, and teams are often fervently supported by their communities. Success in a tough NCAA Division II conference relies heavily on agility, sound fundamentals, and, especially, teamwork. This is what has driven the success of UIndy’s Men’s Basketball program and continues to propel the team to new heights.

When the offense is in motion, for example, it is imperative to pick one’s lanes, identify open teammates, and protect the ball from the defense. These skills all add up to one thing: the goal of getting a basket. This method to achieving a common team goal becomes invaluable once these student-athletes graduate and begin their careers. In the workplace, when every member of the team executes his role effectively, it makes it easy to achieve a common goal. Basketball teaches these student-athletes that making their contributions the best they can be creates a better result for the team.

The Champions Challenge is a year-long campaign with a goal of raising $250,000 for UIndy’s athletic programs—and thanks to a matching gift from an anonymous donor, the campaign could result in a total of $500,000. All new unrestricted gifts of at least $25 will qualify for a 2:1 match. All renewed gifts that are increased by at least $25 also will qualify for a 2:1 match.   Your gift to the Champions Challenge is essential to continue improving the experience of our student-athletes, and a successful campaign would afford our current and future student-athletes a chance to compete at an even higher level.

We are very fortunate to be a part of a community that values our institution, our student-athletes, and our goals. We couldn’t achieve this without your help. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Matt Donovan at (317) 788-3359 or [email protected]. Thank you for your consideration—and Go Hounds!

Sincerely,

Coach Stan Gouard
