JAQUES’ NEWSLETTER September 3, 2019 Email: Well hello September! This is the first Labor Day I have ever enjoyed because we usually start school the day after! But we already have 3 weeks under our belt!!! BIG NEWS! Mrs. Vargas has a beautiful bouncing baby girl this weekend. Julianna weighed in at 8 lbs. 5 oz.! She is so adorable and I love her so much! Remember, we are still focusing on beginning of the year tests in math, written expression, spelling and PALS reading. Our practice of routines may be momentarily interrupted because of these very important tests. Homework Folders/Agendas Thank you for reviewing your child’s daily folder each day! Please take a moment to read their sentence in their agenda and sign your name. THANKS! Guided Reading Our guided reading program will begin next week! The students will be grouped according to their reading/ comprehension abilities. BAG BOOK Reading Homework ! Bag book reading/sight word lists homework is going AWESOME! Thank you so much for listening to your child read the book 2 times and also helping in sight word practice. Thank you for being patient while I test sight word lists each day. There are going to be days when I will not be able to check them. Please be sure to sign the reading log and help them to remember to return it all the next day! Curriculum Outlook In Math we have been reviewing the numbers 0-100. We have been skip counting to 100, sorting, making patterns, working on word problems, and practicing changing our stations.
