In the first, eighteen months, this blog had reached over a quarter million readers. Anne Moss had been interviewed for two 2018 articles in the New York Times and has appeared on TV, radio, podcasts on the subject of suicide and the illnesses that trigger this tragic death. She was the first suicide loss survivor ever invited to speak at the National Institute of Mental Health with the top researchers in the world on youth suicide and depression. She co-presents four times a year with NIMH staff Scientist Dr. Lisa Horowitz on the ASQ suicide screening tool and has been instrumental in bringing Preventure, an evidence-based personality targeted life skills training program to the US that has been shown to reduce drug and alcohol use in schools by up to 80%. This program is piloting in two schools in mid-October 2018. Originally from Fayetteville, NC and a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Journalism and a concentration in advertising, she moved to Richmond in the mid- eighties to work in advertising as a copywriter, the majority of that time at The Martin Agency in Richmond. She co-owned a digital marketing firm called Impression Marketing from 2010 to 2017, which she sold to pursue behavioral health advocacy full time. She is a public speaker, writer, and part time Executive Director of Beacon Tree Foundation, advocates for youth mental health. She lives in the city of Richmond with her husband of 32 years,

Despite her family’s best efforts to get help, her 20-year-old son Charles died by suicide June 5, 2015 after many years of struggle. He was 20 years old and suffered from anxiety, depression and ultimately addiction.
