Top Tips to remember:A main clause is a group of words that contains a verb and a subject which makes complete sense on its own. They have a subject and a word to add information about the subject. A subordinate clause is a group of words that is dependent on the main clause because it does not make sense on its own.In the following examples, the main clause is in blue and the subordinate clause is in purple. The girls fed the ducks before they walked around the lake. The windmill sails turned quickly because it is was very windy today.

To link in with our new topic this term of ‘Wales and The Wonderful World Around Us,’ thisweek, we would like you to choose a different country to concentrate on this week. Can you have a go at creating a physical map of your country? A physical map is one that shows the geographical features of the land, for example, mountains, rivers and lakes, forests and deserts. There are some examples below, the one of China in particular, shows the key. You could draw or paint your map, some of the examples below have used salt dough, or you could have a go at using natural objects and create it outdoors in your garden.

Remember to include a key!

(We have already found out lots of information about Wales, so we’d like you to choose a different country)

Here are some websites that might help you: https://earth.google.com/web/www.natgeokids.com/uk/ www.dkfindout.comwww.activityvillage.co.ukwww.bbc.co.uk/bitesizewww.oxfam.org.uk/education/resources/your-world-my-world

Here are some activities you can try over the week: - Explore parts of your country using the Google Earth app or Website!- Feel free to use the ‘Cool Country report’ sheet from last week if you’d like to. Or you

can use parts of it for ideas. Remember these are only ideas, and you can always use other ways to present your information.

- You and members of your family could become ‘Location Vloggers’ and record yourselves as if you are on location in your chosen country.

- You might want to learn some basic phrases of the language spoken in your chosen country and include them in your Vlog!

- You could find out if there are any traditional foods of your chosen country, and have a go at cooking them if you can.
