Definition of BLOG…

Name/Title

A blog will typically have a name displayed on top, which may or may not be descriptive.Description

content. They are dated and displayed in reverse chronological order ( most recent first).

Comments Key distinguishing feature of

blogs. Most blogs allow users to leave comments in response to individual posts.

It is a permanent link or URL to a blogspot.

Allow bloggers and others to link to specific posts, knowing the URL will not change or become obsolete.

Each post typically has its permalink following the post sometimes signified by the word permalink or the character “#”.

Can contain just about anything.

It includes the picture of the author, an “about” section with some prose about the author or blog, contact information, a list of recent post by titles, links to the main organization’s Web site, blogrolls, advertisements, archives, categories, and a search feature.

A blogroll may be named Blogroll, Blogs I read, Blogs I Like, or something similar.

Blogs are continuously-updated websites, created by individuals or organizations. They are generally free. A library can use blogs to promote its products and services by making it appealing and informative. Special alerts about new resources special services can be included in the blog entries. To get feedback, comments and suggestions can be invited from visitors.
