Checking

What is the checking procedure?

Each School has nominated some named ‘data checkers’.

Checkers examine the catalogue on the T4 Staging Server.

Changes are made via PIP and must be approved.

Changes, once approved, are immediately visible in the preview.

Once updates are complete, one person checks a box in PIP to say the School is ready for publication.

Suggested Approach

How should you approach the job?

You should go though the list in three stages, as follows:

Check for inclusions

First, change what’s included and excluded – let PIP team know if anything is wrong.

Check for content

Next, change content using Amend Courses proposals.

Check for formatting

Change formatting last using Amend Courses proposals.

Data Updates

How to update course information

There are two ways to make changes to course information in PIP:

An Amend Courses Proposal – this is the most common way to update info

or

A Bulk Update Proposal – used for exactly the same change to several courses
