We have been overwhelmed by your response. Thank you! A cheque will be sent to St Francis Primary School, so that they can provide the children affected with a special treat. Thank you for being such a wonderful, caring community. We will you know next week the final amount collected. YEAR 1 VICTORIAN WORKSHOP GARDENING CLUB Last week the gardening club entered a competition that was hosted by BBC Gardening World at the NEC. We had to represent a meal in a wheelbarrow. We decided on ice cream with mint and edible flowers and we called our ice cream Very Berry Ice cream. We grew strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, chokeberries, redcurrants, marigolds, pansies, violas, lavender and mint. We really enjoyed our challenge and look forward to next year. Yesterday, Year 1 had the great experience of time travelling back to the Victorian era. During the workshop the pupils met a Victorian School Mistress, who discussed Queen Victoria, Child Labour and Inventions. They also met a Parlour Maid who chatted about life as a domestic servant. The pupils were extra well behaved that day to avoid the cane! YEAR 3 ASSEMBLY On Thursday Y3 presented their assembly about Celebrations. They thought about all the things we celebrate, big and small. It was a time to reflect on the recent celebration of First Holy Communion by 10 children in Y3 and Y6. It was a wonderful moment in the Catholic Life of our school.
