What a busy term! What a term it has been! Starting with a bang, we showcased our school production and I was very proud of everyone involved, from the performers to the production staff. Thank you to everyone who helped out and who came to watch. We barely seemed to catch our breath after that as the production was quickly followed by NAPLAN, Education Week, Science Week and school photos, as well as our excursions, performances and special visitors.

Anti-bullying programsWe have launched into our new anti-bullying action plan in the playground and the classroom. Courtesy of a federally funded grant, the girls from Project Rockit spoke to primary students about cyberbullying this week. Early next term, infants students will be involved in some anti-bullying strategies and activities.

Support for those who need itCorowa Public School has many programs available to students, teachers and families to support learning and wellbeing. Did you know that we have access to the following agencies and programs?

Intereach / Family Links, Mission Australia, Community Services, speech pathology, occupational therapy, wellbeing support programs, Headspace Australia, National Facilitator Services, RFW, NDIS providers, University Links, regional learning programs and sporting, spelling and public speaking competitions.

If you are in need of support or advice with your child, please do not hesitate to call us on (02) 6033 1606 for an interview time – we are here to support you in any way possible.

The P&C committee wants you!Our active P&C committee are very keen to welcome new members at our monthly meetings! Are you aware that through the dedicated families and P&C members, we have purchased $5000 of new readers for our classrooms! Imagine what we could do with more helpers - the world is our oyster. A school is an important component of any community and we really want to have as many P&C members as possible to ensure we can provide the best support possible for our students.

Invictus GamesEarly next term, we have 17 members of our school community heading off to the Invictus Games at Homebush. The once-in-a-lifetime experience will showcase the ways people overcome adversity through resilience and perseverance. I am envious of those who are heading along as I have been looking forward to it for almost a year! Corowa Public School and Gerogery Public School are two of the few regional public schools that have been given the opportunity to attend the Invictus Games. It will be wonderful experience!

Transition to high school for Year 6Our Little Learners have started their transition to big school and next term our Year 6 students will continue their transition to high school. Term 4 is an important time for our Year 6 students as they undertake many activities to prepare them for life after primary school. For many families, this is the first of many steps on a new path and we will work hard to answer any questions you have along the way. Please talk to us so we can smooth this transition.

See you again in Term 4!Enjoy your school holidays! As usual, I have asked all students to make their beds every day, tidy their bedrooms, wash all the dishes and help out around the house as much as possible. Please remember that Term 4 begins on Monday 15 October.
