Join the pod resources were great for exploring Climate Change

First we discussed why we should try to save energy, we decided that it was:1. To save the school some money 2. To help protect our planet

Switch Off Fortnight

• Light Monitors in every class

• Traffic light system for switches and sockets

• Poster Campaign to raise awareness

• Split site energy challenge

Cross Curricular Links

• All classes got involved during the year with the project using the topic to deliver literacy, maths geography, PSHCE, science.

• Held Climate week and Waste week in March/April.

• Science for Schools -recycling clothing

• Building work - opportunities

Getting down and dirty…

• Forest school projects Y3 and Y1• Trees for Dorset project for all year groups• Allotment at local army camp

No escaping the message…

• Even the after school ‘Show Club’ continued the eco message with a show all about saving the planet

• Great songs, strong message and the kids loved it!

And now…

• The TIDKIDS baton has been passed on to Year 2• We have taken delivery of 2 Eco-Houses • Joint project with our partner school in Newton Tony,

Somerset.
