John Wieschhaus is a veteran Art Director and Graphic Designer with a disproportionately

large right brain – a condition that has made him hugely successful in building brands for

his clients. John grew up in Missouri, tried his hand as a whitewater river guide and

found his life’s calling in graphic design and advertising school. Cutting his teeth at some

of the best advertising agencies in the country, including Y&R, Bozell, Doyle Dane Bernbach

and West Wayne, John became nationally recognized by winning numerous local,

regional and national awards

for his print, collateral and TV work. John left the agency world to form Wish Creative in 2006. Not because no one could spell his name correctly, but because the industry needs someone with his specialized design and creative skills. So now, if you need to communicate better or your marketing pieces need to be more effective, all you have to do is Wish. John’s married to a redheaded special education teacher he met in his home town and they live in Atlanta. He is putting three kids through college so he hopes to hear from you soon. 678-481-9126 or an e-mail to [email protected]

Hubersorb® 250 Calcium Silicate:

The Ideal Remedy For Your Garlic Powder

Caking and Flow Problems

When handling garlic powder, are you continuously experiencing caking and flow

problems? Huber understands your dilemma and has the ideal solution: Hubersorb®

250 calcium silicate.

The Product

Hubersorb 250 is a powdered, food-grade and Kosher certified precipitated calcium

silicate that is very effective in controlling the most difficult caking and flow problems.

The product is particularly effective in garlic powder and in salt and tomato powder

formulations.

The ProofTraditionally, calcium stearate has been the product of choice for use in garlic powder

for caking and flow problems. The test results below illustrate the enhanced caking

protection provided by Hubersorb 250 versus calcium stearate.* At a 10% moisture

level, the test showed garlic powder caked at 77%. At each subsequent loading

level of Hubersorb 250 versus calcium stearate, Hubersorb 250 was significantly more

effective at reducing the caking of garlic powder.

*For the caking test, conditions were

determined under which at least a 70%

caking would occur. Caking is defined as

the percent of powder that is caked and

will not pass through a 20 mesh screen

during vibration. Once these requirements

are met, the testing is conducted using

various levels of anti-caking agents.

Here’s Why You Should Use Hubersorb® 250

Garlic Powder Caking at 10% Moisture

When handling Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP) powders, are you continuously experiencing caking and flow headaches? Huber understands your dilemma and has the ideal remedy for your next HVP powder formulation: Hubersorb® 600 calcium silicate.

The ProductHubersorb 600 is a very fine, hygroscopic, food-grade calcium silicate powder. It isKosher-certified and is effective in controlling the most difficult caking and flow problems. The product is particularly effective in HVP powder formulations that present caking and flow problems due to high levels of moisture, oils or fats.

The Proof Huber has evaluated the use of Hubersorb 600 with HVP powders in the laboratory.* The study below shows the moisture caking of HVP powders was reduced from 75% to 20% under the severe conditions of 4.8% moisture and two pounds per square-inch pressure at 50ºC for 15 minutes with Hubersorb 600 loaded at 2.0%.

Meanwhile, the Flowdex™ diameter through which the HVP powders flowed was reduced from 28 mm to 18 mm with a 2.0% loading.

Structural mullions meet structural load requirements

Specifically designed for homes built in coastal areas subject to hurricanes and other extreme weather conditions, StyleGuard® impact-resistant windows from YKK AP provide the performance and protection property owners need to weather the storm. StyleGuard impact-resistant windows are made with non-corrosive materials and never need painting. Each StyleGuard impact-resistant window is designed to save energy and is made with low-e glass as a standard feature. Our windows work overtime to keep the inside cool in summer and warm in winter while providing around-the-

clock impact protection that shutters and plywood can’t. StyleGuard impact-resistant windows have been tested to ASTM and Miami-Dade protocols to resist damage from windborne debris. The YKK AP philosophy of continual investment in research and development, in testing, and in production facilities has kept us in the forefront of the industries we serve. YKK AP is a worldwide leader in architectural products.

Severe storms produce flying debris that can easily penetrate standard glass. If a home’s structural envelope is breached, the resulting increase in pressure can literally tear the roof and walls apart. StyleGuard impact-resistant windows protect the home from the disastrous effects of these storms by using thermally-efficient insulated glass capable of resisting penetration -- even by a nine pound two by four traveling at 50 feet per second.

StyleGuard impact-resistant windows and doors are designed to complement any architectural style. Flush mounted tilt latches, a proprietary lock design, an architecturally correct profile design and wood-like profiles give the windows distinctive aesthetic appeal. And, structural mullions allow home builders to utilize creative window configurations for dramatic effects, inside and out.

StyleGuard windows and doors protect 24/7/365.

The windows in your home are a major source of energy loss – up to 25%. While traditional double-pane insulated glass helps, it’s not enough. Low emissivity (“low-e”) glass, a standard feature of all Precedence replacement windows, helps to keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer by reflecting heat back to its source.

For even better energy-saving performance, we fill the space between the glass panels with inert argon, a non-toxic gas more dense than air which acts as a thermal barrier.

Every Precedence replacement window is ENERGY STAR certified, your assurance they meet strict testing standards for energy efficiency. Additionally, Precedence windows have earned the coveted National Association of Home Builders Research Center Green Approved certification. NAHB Green Approved certifies Precedence replacement windows as contributing to sustainable building practices that provide environmental benefits today and for the future.

Your local dealer can provide Precedence replacement windows designed for enduring beauty, comfort, and performance while enhancing any architectural style. Different Precedence window configurations also offer opportunities for improved views and more effective ventilation. And all Precedence replacement windows are designed to be virtually maintenance-free.

White Tan

All Precedence replacement windows are available with optional Neat glass: a special coating from Cardinal Industries that renders windows virtually self-cleaning. Silicon dioxide fills in the microscopic pits found on all glass surfaces. This super-smooth finish enables water to sheet rather than bead, leaving the glass almost spotless as water dries. A Titanium dioxide coating reacts with UV light (even on cloudy days) to dissolve carbon-based and organic material. When water hits the window the sheeting action simply washes away the decomposed dirt.
