HEALTH CORNERSafeguarding our health is important. As we age our body takes longer to heal and even if we get enough rest and eat healthy, there is a natural decline in our organs. How can we protect ourselves? An annual check-up by a doctor or nurse practitioner is very important. If the appointment is close to the month and day of your birth, it is easier to remember. The exam will include questions, lab work, a blood pressure comparison, monitoring of your heart, lung, skin and lymph nodes. Be truthful with your answers. Our skin is delicate, protect it with skin block, SPF 30 or higher. Even if you don’t see the damage, skin can be in distress. Skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema need special care, especially during extreme temperatures. Our eyes go through changes steadily as we age. Age related macular degeneration should be treated if you notice pain or blurred vision. Don’t delay an exam. Our feet and our dental/oral hygiene cannot be neglected. It’s not easy, but an ounce of prevention is especially important for senior.

CHURCH VAN PROCEDURES: Van use request forms must be submitted two weeks prior to the date of the event. A minimum of seven people are required in order to use the van/bus and the van can only be used for Wayman Chapel purposes. Donations for use are accepted. All drivers must successfully complete the required Driver Training Program. Anyone interested in being a driver, please contact Bro. Damon Woods at 304-5575.

FACILITYKITCHEN REQUEST FORM: Members must fill out a Kitchen Request Form to use the kitchen. The forms are located outside of the treasurer’s office, bottom slot. Turn in the completed form to the church office and a kitchen committee person will call you. If your organization didn’t receive the Kitchen Guidelines, please see Peggy Wynn. Thank You!
