“Hi all, this year’s Clubhouse has been fruitful as I have enjoyed our regular meetings and also our trips

out, may we have many more.”

“ I have maintained my Clubhouse admin role and have rattled out the invoices and this Annual Review, I

hope to good effect.”

“My mental and emotional health has remained stable and am kept busy with my other weekly appointments. Thank you to all staff and members

for 2013 – 2014.”

“Above is ‘Wallace’ and a vital part of the Vineyard Project at Forty Hall Farm in Enfield where I am a long term Volunteer. Wallace is the biggest

member of our team and a joy to work with!”

"Another successful, active and enjoyable year in which we settled into our new, hopefully permanent, accommodation.”

“Members continue to play an active part in the community including work and volunteer placements. Clubhouse continues to provide a range of activities to suit most tastes including bowls, walks, board games, pub lunches,

days out, attending European football matches. Not to mention a very enjoyable “eat as much as you like” Christmas lunch.”

“The Highlight for me has to be our holiday to Weymouth in September 2014, which leaves me looking forward to this year’s holiday to Canterbury with much excitement.”

“Finally, a big thank you to Panos who patiently guided me through my early days at Clubhouse. Panos resigned as Treasurer in December 2013, but thankfully maintained his ties by agreeing to continue as Honorary Treasurer.

So any budding volunteers wanting to gain valuable experience with a small charity as Treasurer (or Secretary) please get in touch."

“Still enjoying the relative luxury of Room 10 at Community

House in Edmonton, we have a secure, fully furnished and

functioning home complete with hot drinks, biscuits (very

popular) and access to the internet.”

“We have recently added our entry to the Adult Social Care Marketplace to advertise for new Clubhouse members online with Enfield Council’s website. We look forward to

any public response and potential new trustees, staff and of course members!”

“Daniel Crock still carries his role well working for Clubhouse in a number of admin/IT roles.

His tasks include IT troubleshooting, producing monthly invoices and the

Clubhouse Annual Review.”

“A number of our members continue to involve themselves with local outdoor projects including Forty Hall Vineyard and Estate in Enfield and John Groom’s Garden Centre near Wood Green.”

“Jonathon Bolashodun has been away from regular Clubhouse

sessions as he is enjoying a 2 year course at Southgate College. ‘Community Link’ has been

running for quite a number of years and aims to provide

informative and fun learning for people with mental health

problems. A number of other members have been on this

course.”

“Michael Brown has not been attending Clubhouse for over a year but not to worry as he is

doing a 2 year course in Bricklaying. We hope to catch up

with him soon and that he gets an apprenticeship or job in the near

future.”

“Our members are continually involved

with different activities and we had lunch cooked for us during our

use of the catering kitchen at the Angel Community Centre

in Edmonton. Over 5 Fridays we had

sumptuous meals including sausage casserole, fish and desserts including cheesecake and

apple strudel cooked by a regular

team.”

“This year saw our annual Youth Hostelling holiday to Canterbury in Kent. Being extremely lucky with the weather we had our usual exploration of eating out, shopping and lots of walking including a cycle ride to Whitstable Bay for those who took their bikes. It really

was another well planned break which was very well enjoyed by all!”

“Last year saw our Annual Holiday in Weymouth. Staying at a hostel, we enjoyed plenty of walking, eating out, local attractions, a visit to Portland Island, shopping, and some of us caught fish from the harbour. The beach was long and sandy and the weather just as clement as we explored our

“I first started learning the violin at school when I was 9 years old. Now, 40 years on, I play for two local orchestras; the Southgate Symphony Orchestra and the Enfield Chamber Orchestra as well as bit of solo playing for EMU, a local mental

health organisation. In total we average about 6 public concerts a year at a number of local churches in Enfield and Southgate. In the future I would like to

do more solo work, playing on my own as part of a larger event.”

“Member’s Chris Stewart and Daniel Crock are successful anglers as you can see in the photos they are used to catching course fish

of over 10 pounds in weight. Visiting fisheries in Enfield, Hertfordshire and Essex there are plenty of idyllic locations to sit

back and relax on a nice summer’s day. ”

A number of our members are avid snappers and with the annual holiday and trips out to places of interest there is plenty of

opportunity and material for taking a shot or two. You can view their efforts on page 6.

Stephen K carries the digital image a bit further by manipulating his photos with computer software to give them a very modern-

art like look, see next page!

“Chris Stewart is possibly the only Clubhouse member to have his own business. Having his own working studio at home, a small outbuilding complete with his own kiln, means he is able to produce high quality pieces both to order and for the public market which he sells through

local market days. To help him financially, he has money provided through his personalisation budget to pay for materials.”

Giving up smoking after many years of enjoying tobacco in any of its forms is not easy but there is light at the end of the tunnel and many people each year manage to do so. Three Clubhouse members are now ex-smokers:

Patrick Collins who also gave up alcohol at the same time Daniel Crock, who gave up in May of this year Stephen Kannankara has also given up this year

All managed to stop using willpower alone and I am sure would like more members to give up too!

"I never miss out a chance to eat some good food and eating out gives me the ideal opportunity to do just that."

Clubhouse member Daniel Crock has been volunteering at Forty Hall Farm in Enfield since 2009.

He says:

“The project is now boasting an established vineyard with 10 acres of 5 different varietals of organic grapes used to make both still and sparkling wines for the restaurant market. “

The picture is of the wine from their first ever harvest in Autumn 2013.
