The inscription states that it is ‘the supreme example of a commercial port at the time of Britain’s greatest global influence’. The World Heritage Site, comprises dock basins & important historic buildings such as the Victoria Clock Tower , Dock Master’s House, Stanley Dock & its massive Tobacco Warehouse, the Leeds- Liverpool Canal & Waterloo Warehouse.
