What else can you use with watercolour to enhance and explore it?

MASKING FLUID
Be sure to apply it with an old brush or a palette knife. Once masking fluid dries, it’s difficult to get it
out of brushes and materials. Use a non-absorbent applicator.
FINE LINE APPLICATORS
For a really fine application of masking fluid, use a fine line applicator. Fill the bottle with masking
fluid and pipe it out onto the page. Make sure you wash the nib out once you have finished using it,
so it doesn’t get clogged up.
NATURAL SPONGES
Use a natural sponge to soak up any blotches of water or paint. It is very absorbent.
WATER VESSEL
You need a pot for some water to dip into. Some pots fold down so they are easily transportable.
PALETTE
With most sets, you can use the lid as a palette. However if you’re working in a studio or mixing lots
of colours, use a non-absorbent palette to mix on. Both ceramic and plastic work well.
WATER BRUSH PENS
Fillable pens with a brush nib allow you to carry a wet brush with you with complete ease. Just fill
with water, and off you go. Different brush sizes are available so you can paint with varied marks.
