COOLING TOWER WATER TREATMENT
Cooling towers are heat removal devices used to transfer process waste heat to the atmosphere.
Cooling towers may either use the evaporation of water to remove process heat and cool the working fluid or, in the case of closed circuit dry cooling towers only on air to cool the working fluid.
The main types of cooling towers are natural draft and mechanical draft cooling towers
Cooling towers mainly used for cooling the circulating water used in oil refineries, petrochemical and other chemical plants, thermal power stations and HVAC systems for Air Conditioning buildings.
COOLING TOWER :-
Cooling tower water treatment is required mainly for treating the Corrosion (process of metal dissolution usually by oxidation) , Scaling / Deposits (creation of the precipitated solids) & Microbiological fouling (Water left unattended for any significant length of time will grow bacteria, fungi, algae and even protozoa)
Corrosion will shorten the life of the equipment
Scale/deposits will decrease heat transfer and increase energy usage
Microbiological Fouling will cause system blockages and potential health hazards. ( Legionnaires' disease )
WHY COOLING TOWER WATER TREATMENT IS REQUIRED? :-
CORROSION TREATMENT CHEMICALS :-ABS – CL 150 (Corrosion & Scaling Inhibitor ) ABS – CL 105 (Corrosion & Treatment For High Silica )

SOLUTION FOR COOLING TOWERS :-
CHILLED WATER TREATMENT
Chiller is a machine that removes heat from a liquid via a vapor-compression or absorption refrigeration cycle . This liquid can then be circulated through a heat exchanger to cool air or equipment as required.A chiller is rated between one to 1000 tons of cooling energy. There are three different types of chillers:(1) air (2) water and (3) evaporative condensed chiller.Air Cooled Chiller :- Uses Propeller fans to draw ambient air over a finned coil to condense the refrigerant. It may contain multiple or single compressor.Water Cooled Chiller :-Uses recirculating condensate water from a cooling tower to condense the refrigerant.Evaporative condensing chillers :- water is sprayed over the
condenser coil as the condenser fans draw air across the coil to evaporate the spray and cool the refrigerant tubes toward the ambient wet bulb temperature.
CHILLER:-
Chilled water treatment is required mainly for treating the corrosion & Biofouling.Corrosion :- in a closed water system is usually the result of
one or more of the following six types of corrosion attack.
Oxygen Concentration of Dissolved Solids Deposits pH Level Anaerobic Bacteria Excessive Velocity
Biofouling :-The thermal resistance due to the accumulation of contaminants on the water-side of the heat transfer surface.
WHY CHILLED WATER TREATMENT IS REQUIRED ?
ABS – CHILL CHEM – 100 (Closed Loop Corrosion

SOLUTION FOR CHILLED WATER TREATMENT :-
BOILER WATER TREATMENT
Boiler is a closed vessel into which water is heated until the water is converted into steam at required pressure.
There are mainly two types of boiler – Fire tube boiler and Water tube boiler
Fire tube Boiler :- there are numbers of tubes through which hot gases are passed and water surrounds these tubes.Types :- Horizontal return tubular boiler , Short fire box boiler. & Compact boiler.
Water tube boiler :- is reverse of the fire tube boiler. in water tube boiler the water is heated inside tubes and hot gasses surround these tubes.Types :-Two Drum Bent Tube Boiler, Three Drum Bent Tube Boiler , Low Head Three Drum Bent Tube Boiler & Four Drum Bent Tube Boiler
BOILER:-
Boiler water treatment is required mainly for treating the Corrosion & Scaling Corrosion :- Dissolved oxygen entering the system via the feed-water. The oxygen causes very localized corrosion to occur in the form of pitting. The pits are small but deep pinpoint holes which eventually can penetrate tube walls and cause their failure.
corrosion in boiler systems is low pH within the boiler. This reduced pH may result from carbon dioxide infiltration or form contamination by other chemicals.
Oxygen related corrosion will attack metallic boiler components leading to increased maintenance costs and reduced boiler efficiency.Scaling:- can be traced to the presence of hardness and other impurities such as iron, silica, copper, oil, etc.
Scale formations in boilers are responsible for lost efficiency, increased maintenance and operating costs not to mention lost revenue due to outages and downtime.
WHY BOILER WATER TREATMENT IS REQUIRED ?
CORROSION TREATMENT CHEMICALS :-ABS – H900 (Oxygen Scavenger – Medium pressure
boiler)ABS – H800 (pH Booster - Low pressure boiler)ABS –H700 (Oxygen Scavenger - Low pressure boiler )ABS -1830S (Antiscalant cum corrosion inhibitor – High Pressure Boiler)

SOLUTION FOR BOILERS:-
RO WATER TREATMENT CHEMICALS
Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology that uses a Semi permeable membrane. This membrane technology is not properly a filtration
method. In RO, an applied pressure is used to overcome osmotic pressure that is driven by chemical potential, a thermodynamic parameter. RO can remove many types of molecules and ions from solutions and is used in both industrial processes and to produce potable water. In the normal osmosis process, the solvent naturally moves from an area of low solute concentration (High Water Potential), through a membrane, to an area of high solute concentration (Low Water Potential).
REVERSE OSMOSIS:-
Reverse osmosis systems (RO Systems) remove salts, microorganisms and many high molecular weight organics. RO can reduce the amounts of organics, inorganics, bacteria and particulates that can be found in contaminated drinking water. RO treatment is required mainly for removing the contaminants as per the below table.
WHY REVERSE OSMOSIS IS REQUIRED ?
Contaminant Rejection Range

EFFLUENT WATER TREATMENT
Liquid waste flowing out of a factory, farm, commercial establishment, or a household into a water body such as a river, lake, or lagoon, or a sewer system or reservoir. Types of Effluent :1) Industrial Wastewater treatment 2) Sewage water treatmentIndustrial Wastewater :- Covers the mechanisms and processes used to treat waters that have been contaminated in some way by anthropogenic industrial or commercial activities prior to its release into the environment or its re use. (Agricultural waste , iron and steel industry ,mines and quarries , food industry ,complex organic chemicals industry and nuclear industry)Sewage Treatment :- It includes physical , chemical and biological processes to remove physical , chemical and biological contaminants. (residential ,institutional and commercial)
EFFLUENT WATER:-
Wastewater contains many constituents that are harmful to human health and the environment that need to be removed prior to discharge to the natural environment.
These constituents are wide ranging:Pathogens - Can lead to infections and death in humans who contact the waterNutrients (Nitrogen and Phosphorus) - Can cause algal blooms in receiving waters, killing fish and other wildlifeBiochemical Oxygen Demand - The degradation of organic mater by microbes consumes oxygen. This consumption can deplete aqueous oxygen concentrations enough that fish and other wildlife may die.Suspended Solids - Sunlight can heat water with high suspended solids faster. Higher temperatures deplete oxygen concentrations in water resulting in possible fish kills.Pharmaceutical and Other Chemicals - Caffeine, estrogen, and pharmaceutical chemicals are all present in wastewater.

PRESSURE SAND FILTER:-
Pressure Sand Filter is highly recommended for the
removal of suspended solids & undissolved impurities
like dust particles & heavy metals etc. PSF reduces
turbidity.
Applications:-
Preparation of cooling water
Treatment of waste water
Drinking water
Pre filtration for RO (membrane) systems
Filtration of gray or surface water
Efficient Turbidity and TSS Removal
Removes the suspended solids, colour, odour and free
chlorine present in the water.
Water often contains unwanted substances that are
present as “dissolved solids”. Dissolved solids are
defined as those smaller than 0.5 micron. They
cannot be removed by sand filters, dual-media filters
or by multi-media filters.
Wastewaters often contain dissolved substances that
need to be removed prior to discharge or re-
use.
Removing such substances requires use of “activated
media”. These media have properties that allow
them to remove specific unwanted substances.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERS:-
Iron removal plants can be based on different
filtration media, depending on the iron and
manganese concentration, the oxygen level, CO2
content and hardness of the water.
The filtration process consists of passing effluent
water through filter medium that strain out colloidal
particles such as fine sand, anthracite, earth particles
or filter fabric.
The iron removal filters that we manufacture are
widely used to eliminate turbidity, suspended
particles, color, odor and iron that are available in raw
water. These iron removal filters are known for their
easy operation and give crystal clear water.
IRON REMOVAL FILTERS:-
The physical impurities of raw water i.e. suspended
solids, dirt, dust, & all visible particles are removed in
Multi Grade Filter up to 50 micron.
Multi grade filter is a depth filter that makes use of
coarse and fine media mixed together in a fixed
proportion. This arrangement produces a filter bed with
adequate pore dimensions for retaining both large and
small suspended particles. This filter performs at a
substantially higher specific flow rate than conventional
filters.
MULTI GRADE FILTERS:-
ULTRAFILTRATION SYSTEM :-
Ultra filtration is a process that is similar to RO in that a
semi-permeable membrane is used to remove the filterable
solids, COD, BOD, except that the membrane is more
porous, thus allowing some water-dissolved minerals to
pass through with the product water.
The feedwater flows through the inside of the fibers,
permeates through the membrane, and is removed as
product from the shell side.
The filtered solids are continuously removed from the
other end of the fiber in a reject stream that typically
contains 5 to 10% of the feedwater dissolved solids.
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER:-Activated carbon is a material used to filter harmful
chemicals from contaminated water and air. It is
composed of black granules of coal, wood, nutshells or
other carbon-rich materials.
It is a method of filtering that uses a bed of activated
carbon to remove contaminants and impurities, using
chemical adsorption.
Each particle/granule of carbon provides a large surface
area/pore structure, allowing contaminants the maximum
possible exposure to the active sites within the filter
media.
Activated carbon works via a process called adsorption,
whereby pollutant molecules in the fluid to be treated are
trapped inside the pore structure of the carbon substrate.
Carbon filtering is commonly used for water purification,
in air purifiers and industrial gas processing.
REVERSE OSMOSIS PLANT:-Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology
that uses a semi permeable membrane. This membrane-
technology is not properly a filtration method.
RO can remove many types of molecules and ions from
solutions and is used in both industrial processes and in
producing potable water.
The result is that the solute is retained on the
pressurized side of the membrane and the pure solvent
is allowed to pass to the other side.
Reverse osmosis is the process of forcing a solvent from
a region of high solute concentration through a semi
permeable membrane to a region of low solute
concentration by applying a pressure in excess of
the osmotic pressure.
DESALINATION PLANT:-Refers to any of several processes that remove some
amount of salt and other minerals from saline water.
More generally, desalination may also refer to the
removal of salts and minerals, as in soil desalination.
In the reverse osmosis process cellophane-like
membranes separate purified water from contaminated
water.
RO is when a pressure is applied to the concentrated
side of the membrane forcing purified water into the
dilute side, the rejected impurities from the concentrated
side being washed away in the reject water.
RO can also act as an ultra-filter removing particles such
as some micro-organisms that may be too large to pass
through the pores of the membrane.
