Introduction

• Based on (MMNRE), water pollution increased from 2000 – 2007;

(from 43.0% - 54.0%)

• Purpose : explain the sources, causes & ways to reduce the water pollution,

• Definition : occur when the body of water was affected with harmful things (rubbish, oil spills, dirt from contraction sites etc)

Sources of water pollutants

Point Non-point

• occurs when harmful substances are emitted directly into a body of

water.

• usually monitored & regulated

• occur when deliver pollutants indirectly via

the transport of environmental change

• difficult to monitor and regulate

How to reduce water pollution

• Correctly dispose of harmful household products

• Do not throw rubbish into the water

• Tell your friends

• Ask your family to use safer cleaning products

• Help conservation group to clean river, beach etc

How to reduce water pollution

• Join an organization that campaigning against river and sea pollution.

• Dispose of all plastic carefully.

• Reduce the waste by recycling & reusing as much as you can.

Conclusion….

• It is important for us to know the sources, causes of water pollution and the ways to reduce the water pollution

• There are many sources of water pollution (municipal, agricultural, industrial)

• As Malaysian, should be responsible & take care our environment for our next generation

• I hope you can realize the important of nature, can practice the ways to reduce it
