Proposed WMP Changes Planning Horizon
10-year planning horizon (same as current)
Two-phased approacho Interim demands o 2020 demands
Quantify actual demands and demand projections on a yearly basis
Proposed WMP Changes Minimum Combined Storage
Equal to approximately one year of firm demands (375,000 to 400,000 acre-feet)
An increase of roughly 200,000 acre-feet
Proposed WMP Changes Agricultural Curtailment
Separate triggers for first crop and second crop
Second crop based on June 1 rather than Jan. 1
Cut-off anytime below 600,000 acre-feet
Annual limit on water: eliminate “open supply”
Proposed WMP Changes Other Interruptible Water
Reduce available water from 30,000 acre-feet per year to 4,000 acre-feet per year
Simplify procedure for determining if water is available

New triggers and criteria recommended in 2008 studies
