Powered either by the voltage on the Ethernet cable (POE support) or auxiliary 24V DC input. Integrating an 8-channel ANT+ receiver with Ethernet circuitry, WASP-PoE provides a data gateway for monitoring, recording and analyzing ANT+ data in designated network locations with lower overhead than the standalone WASP. WASP-PoE receives data from connected ANT+ devices and forwards the data through the Ethernet network to the end points on the Ethernet network. The WASP-PoE Application Programmers Interface is exactly the same as for WASP, which is an open API that is used by developers to integrate WASP-PoE into ANT+ applications. WASP-PoE connects ANT+ devices to a wired network for monitoring and data collection purposes. For example ANT+ activity monitors, weight scales, pulse-oximeters, and blood glucose monitors are all able to use this bridge module to communicate their data to central monitoring stations via the Ethernet network. Up to four radios are supported for parallel transfers of ANT-FS sessions with one network connection. WASP-PoE is ideal for use in a wired Ethernet facility to provide complete coverage of ANT+ sensor data coming from groups of people or groups of devices: Groups of People: WASP-PoE allows for the contiguous capture of sensor data as individuals move throughout a facility. Portions of data initially captured by one node can be continued to be captured through other nodes as the individual moves throughout the facility. Groups of Devices: WASP-PoE enables an effective and low cost way to capture sensor data from multiple connected devices within a facility, thus creating a smart, real-time monitoring solution.
