His book, ‘ The Law of Medicine’, is considered to be one of the most famous books in the history of medicine. The book provides a comprehensive system of medicine and was used as a standard text- book for medical education for many years in Europe. He occupies a special place in the history of Muslim origins of modern automation and robotics. He is best known for his book ‘The Book of Knowledge of Ingenious Mechanical Device, ‘where he described 100 mechanical devices, some 80 of which are trick vessels of various kinds, along with instructions on how to construct them. He is the inventor of the Cam Shaft, the Crank Shaft, double-action suction pumps and the flush systems used in modern d ay toilets. Dear Diary
Dear Diary,
You must be wondering where I am lost these days. Why am I not sharing my secrets with my closest childhood friend? Well, I am back and with good news! Cheer up! It’s time to speak up; privately without any disturbance. Oh diary, what a treasure I have found. I know you can’t wait any more; its Tahajjud prayers.
Ah! No screaming on children. No household chores. A time when I can speak to “The Lord of the Worlds” privately, without any interruption from the kids or the ever ringing door bell! How delighting it feels to be in long sujoods speaking of every little matter to the biggest one! You know I have never felt so peaceful and relaxed immediately but only after blissful Tahajjud prayers.
I never knew how merciful is The Rabb ul Alameen. Allah c has given us so many choices for our comfort.Allah c says in the Holy Quran:
“Stand at night (for prayer) except a little - half of it, or make it a little less. Or make it a little more; and recite the Qur’an clearly with tartil (in a distinct and measured tone).”
(Quran-73:2-4)
He c knows that I have a busy lifestyle, hence He c says:
“Truly, rising by night (for prayer of Tahajjud ) is the most effective way to subdue (one’s base self) and to make speech more upright. Surely, in daytime, you have a lengthy work to do. “ (Quran-73:6-7)
Most importantly, I know that my repentance is acceptable. Moreover, the times when I and remained quiet and supplicated were of great value! Let me prove to you by the verses of The Noble Quran:
“Those (are the ones) who say:“Our Lord, surely we have believed, so forgive us our sins and save us from the punishment of the Fire,” (and those who are) the patient, the truthful and the devout, who spend (in Allah’s way) and who seek forgiveness in pre-dawn hours.” (Quran-3:16-17)
In addition to that good news what a beautiful Dua I found from the Quran for a person like me!
“Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate from the right path after You have given us guidance, and bestow upon us mercy from Your own. Surely, You, and You alone, are the One who bestows in abundance.” (Quran-3:8)
Splendid! My Lord will not only accept my repentance but will also reward me!“Surely, for those who have awe of their Lord without seeing (Him), there is forgiveness and
a big
reward.” (Quran-67:12)
And my Dear Diary, Allah c also knows my every thought as He states in Surah Al-Mulk:
“Whether you keep your talk secret or make it aloud, He knows well what lies in the hearts. Is it (imaginable) that He who has created (them) will not have (such a) knowledge, while He is the Knower of the finest things, the All-Aware?” (Quran-16-17)
Last but not the least my favorite Ayat which brought me closer to The Supreme, Ever listening, Ever Knowing Rabb and made me change easily, realistically for the bigger purpose of life, pleasing My Lord c:
“(We dye ourselves with) the coloring of Allah! For who is better in coloring than Allah? We are to worship none but Him.” (Quran-2:138)
Dear Diary, I end my entry with this little piece that sums up my feelings:
Every night and every day My love for you grows everyday
Ups and downs But I remain sound
Because of Endless love that You gave Content heart, I lower my gaze
Blissful Tahajjud, to speak in private You did not let me go astray
Hardships became piece of cake You supported me every way
Beloved Messenger g and His Companions You gave us best models not to lead us astray
Serving your Deen in every nation Dying for the cause, my only passion

Though there are no
official estimates, the US
is home to from 7-8 million
Muslims.
According to a 2011 study by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, about 20 percent of US Muslims are converts to the
faith. Of those converts,
about 54 percent were
men and 46 percent were
women.
The exhibition received a great response from both the Muslim community of Washington and the non-Muslims. Such events
should be held more
frequently to help create
a better understanding of
Islam and its values.
these barbarians martyred innocent children in a horrific manner which has left not only their parents aggrieved, the Pakistanis horrified, but the world
aghast. Any nation, with even an ounce of humanity, cannot show their so called bravery on innocent children.
May Allah g rid us of
such terrorists. It’s time that all political parties, religious institutions and governmental agencies unite to rid our nation of these terrorists. No further
acts of such terrorism will be tolerated.
We are united in the grief of the parents f their loss and heart also bleeds. May Allah c grant them with a
lot of patience and success of both worlds; may Allah c punish the people who carried out this act the way they deserve and rid us of them. Ameen.

Fahmedeen Publications: Promotional Activity at IBA
Jamia Bait-us-Salam: Prize Distribution Ceremony
Bait-us-Salam Updates
Recently a conference was held at the Institute of Business Management by it’s Islamic society-Iqra. The topic was ‘Finding the wow woman in you!’ The aim of this event was to provide a platform for the female youth to gather, learn and ask questions pertaining to a wide array of fields that have
continually bewildered them. The idea of this conference is to untangle the knots in their minds and to explain to them the importance of their role in society as women and provide them with a clear direction about the status and the freedom that their religion provides them with.
Fahmedeen Publications was a part of the event as it set up a stall there with discounted rates. Gift hampers were also given to all the guest speakers and a copy of the Intellect Bulletin was given to all attendees.
An enthusiastic response was received.
T h e a n n u a l p r i z e distribution ceremony was held at the Jamia Bait-us-Salam, Karachi to announce the results of the half yearly exams. This ceremony is being held regularly for the last five years and its main purpose is not only to honor the excelling students, but to also highlight the high level
of grooming in manners and Islam that they receive at Jamia.
The interaction of the parents and the guardians of the students with their teachers is a special feature of the event. Another key feature of the event are the speeches made by the chief guests
which revolve around topics to strengthen Iman in these young hearts.
This year, the gifts were distributed by Maulana Abdul Jabbar and Shiekh Umar Diyan Yemeni and the bayaan was given by the Rais-ul-Jamia.
It was an event enjoyed by all attendees.
The Osaka imam who represents Islam’s growth in Japan
Scores of People Trampled to Death During Shanghai New Year’s Eve Celebration
Islam has gradually put down roots in Japan. There are now around 60 mosquesAn Egyptian legal scholar based in Ibaraki, Osaka Prefecture, says he is work ing to increase understanding between the Japanese people and the more than 100,000 Muslims who live among them.
Islam has gradually put down roots in Japan. There are now around 60 mosques, many of them established in former private homes.
The imam of one such mosque and a central figure in the Japan Halal Association, says awareness of the faith is on the rise.
Not only are there more r e st a u r a n t s s e r v i n g halal meals cooked in accordance with Islamic dietary laws, but waiters at non-halal restaurants often ask Muslim customers about their needs, he said.
There were only a few mosques in post world war II Japan, but the oldest, founded in 1935, was in Kobe.
Muslims began arriving in significant numbers during Japan’s late-1980s bubble
economy, in search of jobs. They included young people from Pakistan and Indonesia.
Some of them subsequently married Japanese citizens and became permanent residents. They then began raising funds to convert ordinary homes into mosques and community centers, or to buy low-cost prefabricated homes for
the same purpose.
That was the environment which was found in Kobe when this Imam found when he arrived there. Over the course of the 10 years he spent in Kobe he saw an increase in Japanese people adopting Is lam after marrying Muslims or otherwise being exposed to Islamic culture.
“I have witnessed around 600 Japanese citizens converting to Islam,” he said.
Following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in the United States, the Kobe mosque received a number of telephone calls denouncing Islam. He would speak with the callers calmly, saying: “We have nothing to hide. Please come here and talk
with us.”
I s l a m h a s v a r i o u s disciplines that seem far removed from Japanese dietary traditions, such as a ban on the consumption of pork and alcohol.
“Deference is the most important thing for mutual understanding,” he added. “Respect as friends creates a peaceful society.”
At least 36 New Year’s Eve revelers were crushed to death and dozens more injured when a stampede broke out half an hour before midnight on a crowded stretch of riverfront in downtown Shanghai’s historic Bund area in China.
O ffi c i a l s c o u l d n o t immediately determine what triggered the surge of partygoers at Chen Yi Square at the Bund, but early reports suggested that a confetti of nightclub coupons flung from the
third-story window of a nearby building prompted a mad scramble for what appeared to be cash.
“It’s too cruel,” Cui Tingting, 27, who initially grabbed at the coupons but tossed them aside after discovering they were not dollar bills. “People in front of us had already fallen to the floor and others were stepping all over them”. Police are very much confused on what caused such a tragedy even though a detailed organizational plan for
handling such a crowd was in place. Investigations are on-going to determine the chain of events.
View: Such parties and celebrations are strictly against Islam. They are a source of direct wrath of Allah c. And when Allah c decides to show his displeasure, no other power can stop him let alone find out what happened and how it happened. The question should be WHY it happened?
