PACIFIC NORTHWEST SHOW RULES
1. ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY Augus t 4 , 2015. ENTRY
PACKETS WILL NOT BE GIVEN OUT UNTIL ENTRY FEES ARE
PAID. POST ENTRIES may be made up to two classes before the classto be entered at a $5.00 additional charge. All penalty fees will applyto entries postmarked after above dates. Management reserves the rightto accept entries for unfilled classes at the regular fee. All fees must bepaid in U.S. dollars. Checks returned for insufficient funds will becharged a $35.00 handling fee and must be replaced by money order orcash. Entry fees will be refunded only upon signed certificate fromVeterinarian presented to the show Secretary prior to the first class inwhich the horse is entered. A $50.00 office charge will be made onall cancelled entries and this will be applied to a class sponsorship inthe exhibitor’s name. Office will be open continuously, beginning onehour before the beginning of each morning performance and closing 15minutes after the conclusion of the last class in each day. Post Entry Feesdo not apply to AMHA Medal Classes.
2. MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: Due to our new designation as aUSEF Local show, it is no longer required that competitors be membersof USEF or pay a show pass fee. Those competing for Horse of theYear must still provide membership information. Junior Exhibitorscompeting in AMHA Medal classes must be AMHA members andprovide copies of their current cards.
3. STABLING: Permanent and portable box stalls with full or half doors willbe available at a rate of $95.00 per stall for the show or
$50.00 for a single day. Tack stalls will be available at a rate of
$95.00 per stall for the show. Horses may arrive Thursday afternoonand must depart by noon Monday. Anyone showing from their trailermust pay a $15.00 clean-up fee per horse per day. Those requiringstabling for a longer period of time MUST make arrangements with theshow secretary. Stabling fees will be refunded only if stall is resold.Horse Hotel @ $25.00/day/stall applies for those arriving Wednesday.
4. SHAVINGS: First Bedding will be furnished. Additional shavings willbe available for purchase @ $10.00 per bale (or market price) at the
show office. This is the information available at time of printing but issubject to change. TO SAVE MONEY, BRING YOUR OWN BEDDING IFPOSSBILE.
5. Stall chart and phone number for veterinarian on call will be posted at theshow office.
6. RV- hookups are available at $75.00 for the show or $25.00 a night. Dogs willnot be allowed on the grounds unless they are leashed - City Ordinance.
7. TROPHY/RIBBONS: Trophy & Ribbons to six places in all classes exceptJunior Exhibitor classes and Championship classes, which will be awarded atrophy and eight ribbons. In-Hand Show Champions will receive appropriateperpetual and annual trophies and ribbon. Reserve Show In-Hand Championswill receive appropriate ribbon. In performance classes in which perpetualtrophies are awarded, winners will receive an accompanying "Keeper" trophyand appropriate ribbon. PURSES: $100.00 purses pay to 4 places: $40.00, $30.00,$20.00, $10.00; $200.00 Purses to 5 places: $60.00, $50.00, $40.00, $30.00,$20.00.
8. The US Equestrian Federation rules governing all classes will apply in thisshow, and persons 17 years of age and under are eligible for Amateurclasses. Cross entry permitted between English Pleasure and Classic Pleasure& Driving as long as shoeing meets appropriate requirements
9. Prize money will be paid by check and presented at the show or mailed within20 business days after conclusion of the show at the discretion of showmanagement.
10. If, during a class, an exhibitor wishes to be excused from the class, theexhibitor must ask the judge for permission to be excused before he/she mayleave the ring.
11. A novice horse or rider is one who has not won 3 blue ribbons in theirdivision. A Limit horse is one who has not won 6 blue ribbons in theirdivision. A junior horse is four years and under.
12. Indoor arena 195’ x 95’, footing is dirt, covered warm-up arena 144’ x 60’footing is sand, outside arenas are sand.
13. NO DOGS IN THE GRANDSTANDS PLEASE.
USEF Rules do not require the inclusion of full judging
specifications in prize lists and programs of approved shows, exceptclasses not listed in the USEF Rule Book.
VERSATILITY AWARD
Rules for competition:
l. Exhibitor must register the horse for the Award on the entry blank.
2. The horse must enter at least five different categories
3. The horse may enter as many classes as desired, but only the highestplacing in each category will count toward the Award.
4. Points will be tabulated as follows: lst-one pt for each horse shown, 2nd,
one less, 3rd, one less, etc. Example: For a class with five entries: 1
st 5 pts,
2nd-4 pts, 3rd-3 pts, etc.
5. A tie will be resolved in favor of the horse with the most first place awards,second place awards, etc..
Categories in which horses may earn points are as follows: Combination(ride/drive and Hunter/Western), Hunter Pleasure, English Pleasure, In-Hand,Sport Horse In-Hand, Musical Freestyle, Pairs, Natural Park Saddle, PleasureDriving, Road Hack, Bridle Path Hack, Sidesaddle, Trail Horse, WesternPleasure, Classic Saddle, Classic Driving, Carriage Driving, Hunter Hack andDressage Suitability. Masters and Walk-Trot Pleasure may be used to meetEnglish, Driving, Hunter or Western Pleasure requirement. Equitation,including Lead-Line, Walk-trot Equitation & Showmanship, earns one pointfor participation if the rider places. Horses competing for the VersatilityAward must be entered in the appropriate space on the front of the entry blankor nominated at the show prior to their first class to count for points.
The Exhibitor’s Barbecue will be held on Saturday at 5:00 PM. Make anote on your calendar to attend this FUN, FREE, DELICIOUS dinner.Weather permitting, the dinner will be held in the grass area outside theshow office. HIGH POINT MORGAN JUNIOR EXHIBITORS
Four High-Point Junior Exhibitor Awards will be presented for Hunt Seat,
Western, Saddle Seat (Saddle Seat to include Classic.) and Walk-Trot. Jr.
Exhibitors may show in all classes and all seats that they wish, but they maysign up for a High Point Award in only one seat or walk-trot, and must sign up
and declare which classes they are entering for points before the first class of theshow.
Classes to count are:
HUNT SEAT: Trail, showmanship, equitation at age level (not medal), pleasureat age level, and any other hunter seat classes at the show.
WESTERN SEAT: Trail, showmanship, equitation at age level (not medal), pleasure
at age level, and any other western seat classes at the show.
SADDLE SEAT: Trail, showmanship, equitation at age level (not medal), pleasure
at age level, and other English classes at the show including the Classic division.
WALK-TROT: Showmanship, Equitation all seats, Pleasure all seats.
POINTS: Points for equitation, showmanship and championships will count 8 for1st, 7 for 2nd, etc. Points for all other classes will count 5 for 1st, 4 for 2nd, etc. Atie will be resolved in favor of the exhibitor with the most first place awards,second place awards, etc., and if still a tie, but the toss of a coin.
AMHA YOUTH OF THE YEAR CONTEST
The oral and written tests will take place after the last class in the Saturday
afternoon performance. Nancy Eidam will be in charge.
PNW MORGAN
HIGH-POINT HUNTER AND WESTERN HORSEAWARDS
$100 CASH will be awarded to two horses in each show earning the mostcompetition points for the entire weekend; one in the Hunter Pleasure andone in the Western Pleasure Division. Points will be tabulated using thesame system as for Versatility Award, above.

Horses unde 2 can be shown in a halter. Horses2 and over MUST be shown in a snaffle type bit and bridle with headstall and throatlatch with reins. A chain and lead may be substituted for reins. ROAD HACK
To be shown at a walk, trot, road trot, canter, hand gallop both ways of the ring and to back readily. At any time during the class, the judge may ask horses to halt and walk off on a loose rein. Excessive speed at the hand gallop should be penalized. To be judged on performance with proper cadence and balance, mannersand suitability for a road hack 60%, type and conformation 40%.
The following section of classes is not USEF
sanctioned. Horses of any breed are eligible.

Motorized Vehicle Statement
In accordance with GR1301.7:
Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in
which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to,
golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions.
Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they
are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who
signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are
solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule
will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child
committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s)
from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the
above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for
individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.
