Washington’s nickname is The Evergreen State.

The region in the U.S. is the Pacific coast, Northwest.

Its’ capital city is Olympia. Three major cities in Washington are Seattle,

Spokane, and Vancouver. Washington’s population is 6,724,540

people.

Washington’s current governor is Jay Inslee. He is a democrat.

The state senators are Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray. They are both democrats.

Washington’s borders Oregon, Idaho, Canada.

Much of Washington is mountainous.

A plateau named Columbia Plateau covers most of eastern Washington.

Eastern Washington also has dry plains and rolling hills.

fur trading post was established near Spokane. Historical fact 2: In 1855-1858, there were a lot

of Native American wars. Historical fact 3: In 1980, Mt. St. Helens

erupted causing 57 deaths and lots of damage.

The Space Needle is a place to visit. It is 605 ft. tall and there is an observation deck.

Point Defiance Park is another place to visit. It has a zoo, an aquarium, a Japanese Garden, beaches, and hiking trails.

in November 1998 through June 1999. 5: The highest elevation is 14,410 feet above sea level and

the lowest is sea level. 6: Washington’s state motto is Alki which means “bye and

bye”.
