ENGINEERING

Wascos Engineering Division designs, builds and operates equipments for a wide range of applications within the oil and gas industry. Strategically located in Singapore, Batam and Dubai, our services include EPC for gas compression packages and oil and gas process modules, plus design and fabrication of e-houses and substations. Wasco also provides rental, O&M and aftermarket services for gas compression equipment. We provide a total approach in engineering solutions and services for both onshore and offshore applications.

Wascos E&P Services Division provides a wide range of support and consultancy services to the exploration industry as well as supplying quality products and equipment to sectors including brine filtration and instrumentation trading.

PIPELINE SERVICES

Wascos Pipe Coating Division, a regional leader in pipe coating solutions for the oil, gas and water industries, owns one of the worlds most advanced, fully-integrated, coating facilities. Strategically located in Kuantan, Malaysia, along a major shipping route in the South China Sea, Wasco is able to efficiently and economically supply coated pipe all over the world. Combined with other coating plants in China and West Africa, Wascos Pipe Coating Division offers a comprehensive range of anti-corrosion coatings, flow assurance coatings, concrete weight coatings, and cathodic protection anodes, enabling us to protect your pipeline in any operating environment, no matter how extreme.

Wasco is the pioneer in the manufacturing of large diameter spiral steel pipes which are API certified in Malaysia. We operate in Kota Kinabalu with a total manufacturing capacity of 140,000 MT/Year.

LOGISTICS SERVICESWasco brings many years of experience and expertise to the transportation of line pipe to and from its various coating plants; providing its clients with the most cost efficient and optimized logistics solutions.

Malaysias Kuantan Port is one of the worlds leading ports for the import of bare line pipe and re-export of coated line pipe, handling almost 2 million tonnes of line pipe per annum. A total of 725 meters of multi-purpose berthing is available for the handling of line pipe. These berths can accommodate vessels of up to 45,000 displacement tonnes.

Wasco exclusively operates Berth 6, a 120 meter berth with a 34 ton gantry crane, designed specifically for barge load-in and load-out operations. Berth 6 can handle up to 100 meter barges, and has proven load-out rates of up to 30 joints per hour, based on 42 OD with 4 of CWC.

CONCRETE WEIGHT COATING (CWC)

Weight coating system composed of cement, water and aggregates, heavy or light, depending on the required density and reinforcement.

Concrete weight coating is used to provide pipe stability on the sea bed as well as superior mechanical protection. It can be manufactured in a range of densities to suit the project specification.

POLYURETHANE INSULATION COATING

Solutions for larger pipe diameters may be available upon customer request.

2-layer coating system composed of FBE and syntactic polyurethane. Polymer or glass microspheres are blended to provide excellent thermal insulation properties.

Polyurethane insulation systems are designed to cover various water depths. Shallow water products (SPU) are based on a PU matrix into which polymer microspheres are blended to provide excellent thermal insulation properties. Deepwater applications (DWPU) are addressed using a range of products into which glass micro-spheres are blended. Both products have extensive track records.

POLYPROPYLENE INSULATION COATING

Solutions for larger pipe diameters may be available upon customer request.

Multi-layer coating system composed of FBE, adhesive and polypropylene layers.

Solid polypropylene is used as both anti-corrosion coating and thermal insulation coating where the thermal requirements are not too demanding. Another coating system is side extruded polypropylene foam which is used for thermal insulation of pipelines for water depths up to 600m. Syntactic polypropylene is used to achieve a balance between good mechanical performance and thermal insulation capability for deep water applications.

Note: Where additional buoyancy control is required, side extruded high density polypropylene can be used. This product is employed as part of a multi-layer system in combination with other polypropylene anti-corrosion and insulation products.
