    ENTRIES CLOSE: Thursday 15th January 2015Entries will be accepted by email [email protected] with entry fee direct credited toNational Bank, Warkworth a/c no: 06 0483 0098021 00 or by

    posting to the secretary along with a copy of your heightcertificate and breed registration for sections requiring these.

    LATE ENTRIES: Entries received after 15.01.2015 will beaccepted with penalty up to one hour before the first class of thesection you are wishing to compete in.

    An extra 25% will be added if the horse/rider combination isalready entered in other classes.

    An extra 50% will be added for new entries.Original Height certificates are to be produced for sighting whenentries are made on the day and must be carried by therider/exhibitor when competing. Failure to produce heightcertificate when asked will lead to disqualification from events.No exceptions.

    REFUNDS: Exhibitors desiring refund of entries must apply inwriting enclosing a Veterinarian's or Doctor's Certificate no laterthan one week after the show.

    All refunds will be made less 25% of total fees. Scratching priorto close of entries will receive a full refund less $10administration fee.

    Competitors ride at their own risk, they must be suitably attired.

    RIDERS PLEASE NOTE

    HELMETS: The following riders must be in protective headgear.Riders 16 years and underRiders of any age in jumping eventsRiders on novice mounts of any height.

    When mounted a properly fitting, securely fastened, correctlymaintained and tagged helmet meeting one (1) of the followingstandards must be worn:a. PAS 015 (British Standard);b. BSEN 1384 (Joint British / European Standard);c. EN 1384 (European Standard);d. AS/NZ 3838 (Joint Australian / New Zealand Standard);e. ASTM F1163 (American Standard).

    These must be worn when in the arena or ring the practice area,collecting rings or anywhere else within the show grounds.Riders over 17 years on horses in open flat events are allowedto wear a riding cap, bowler, top hat. However we would preferto see all riders in approved safety helmets.

    Judges decision is final.

    All prize money/vouchers/product will be paid out on show day.

    SPECIAL ATTENTION IS DIRECTED TO THESE RULES: The Royal Agricultural Society of NZ and its affiliated showsrecognise the Horse of the Year Show, flat events, riddenponies, hacks, saddle (flat) hunters and led sport horse breedclasses for intents & purposes as A & P events.

    PROTEST PROCEDURE:1. The fee for lodging the protest is $50.00.2. The party lodging the protest shall pay in cash when lodging

    the protest.3. The protest shall be lodged with the Secretary in writing withinone hour of the judge's result in the said event.4. The fee shall be refunded if the protest is upheld.Horse and pony stewards must record the time of the judgesfinal decision on all events.

    MEASURING: Measuring must be done prior to show day.Current Height certificates must be carried on showday.

    The Warkworth Show will be conducted under the General Rulesand Regulations as approved by the R.A.S. of NZ.These rules are available at the Secretary's office.

    TESTING FOR FORBIDDEN SUBSTANCES:The use of tranquilisers, stimulants or any drug capable ofaffecting the performance of horses or ponies is forbidden.Competitors are advised that tests for forbidden substances willbe carried out during the show and that testing of all animals is

    at the owner's risk. Testing for forbidden substances will becarried out under the Royal Agricultural Society (Inc) ForbiddenSubstance Judiciary Committee (FSJC) procedures and rules(Refer Rule 112 RAS Equestrian Competitors and Judges RuleBook and Rule 55A of the RAS General Rules and Regulations.

    The Society reserves the right to amalgamate under-subscribedclasses or cancel under-subscribed rings.The Society reserves the right to exchange prize money forproducts or product vouchers

    OVERNIGHT HORSE ACCOMMODATION:

    Competitors are welcome to camp overnight on the grounds freeof charge but all horses and ponies MUST be kept in the yards

    allocated. Yards are $10 per night. All yards must be cleanedand dung placed in the bins provided. We have a limitednumber of yards, therefore it is advisable to book yards and payfees with your entries as yards will be allocated on a first bookedand paid for basis. If you have a stallion or colt. Please notify thechief steward as we do not have stallion yards at this point intime but may be able to accommodate with notificationNO TEMPORARY PENS, TAPES, ETC ALLOWED.

    Both Leading Rein and First Ridden Ponies should be safe andsuitable. They should possess a good front, even gaits and not

    too wide for their small riders. The stride should not be too long,as they would unseat the rider and cause the rider to losebalance. Ideally the First Ridden Pony is a little more scopey inboth conformation and movement than the Leading Rein Pony,although many ponies compete successfully in both sections.Combinations in this section may not enter any other section.Riders must be 7 years of age and under. Ponies to be led byan Adult with the leading rein attached to the noseband of asnaffle bridle. Ponies will be asked to walk and trot - nocantering under any circumstances. Running or bearing reins orsimilar tackle are not allowed.
