it continued along fairly well, even with the July storm that went through the yard. The cattle business

has been strong for the last year with no signs of that letting up. With the high dollars on calves and

demand for quality cattle, now is the time to select top notch herdsires. We feel a key component to a

successful herd is a strong bull battery. The bulls on offer in this sale will stand right up with any other

bull in the industry. Our genetics are sound, our management reflects the values many commercial

men subscribe to; mothering ability, longevity, fertility and hardiness. We grow our bulls carefully, so

not to limit their longevity. We are pleased to be working with Benlock Farms again this year. Tom

shares our beliefs in producing a quality product and standing behind that product. Having said that,

you can buy any bull in this sale with confidence knowing ourselves and Tom back you 100%. Please

join us on March 3, 2012 we are willing to work with you to find the right herdsire for your program and

The 4th Annual Ward’s Red Angus and Guest Bull Sale is upon us and with it comes more excitement and anticipation than we have ever seen. The cattle market is stronger by the day and buyers are having a hard time finding enough cattle to fill their orders. For those of you who have stayed the course… congratulations, your time has finally come.I recently heard the statement, “The beef business starts the day the calf is born.” When you think about it, this is a very true and meaningful statement. Obviously without the birth of a new calf crop every year, there would be no more beef business. However this statement refers to a whole lot more, the calf has to be born alive, unassisted and have vigor or the will to live, for the industry to continue. These very basic, yet essential fundamentals have been the corner stone of the Ward and Benlock programs. From the beginning they have bred cattle that offer calving ease and vigor, as well as fertility and longevity. They also develop these bulls on high roughage diets, ensuring you will buy a sound productive bull that will get your females bred in a timely manor.The Ward bull pen is as stout and consistent in type as it has ever been. The yearling pen is led off by the Agribition show bull, a son of the many time Red Ter-Ron Real Deal 01W. 16Y has attracted a lot of attention; the entire sire group is impressive. You can select from multiple half brothers in every sire group, in the offering. There is a solid group of Red fall born bulls again, that can go out and service a larger number of cows.Tom Blacklock has once again offered a solid set of two year old Black Angus bulls. massive increase here is hard to imagine.As always, we’ve stuck to the most proven bloodlines. Nothing fancy or exotic, just plain old tried and true. This year, more than ever, our bull

pen shows the value of stacking generation after generation of hard working, no nonsense cattle. We do some line breeding. To me, it’s a

great indicator of what you’ve got. If they’re good, they’re good; if they’re not, you’ll know in a hurry. The important thing is that they’re honest

cattle to evaluate and they’ll breed true to themselves.
