War, Peace and Politics

They brought about a new way of looking at the world

This new way of looking was used to counter the desensitization brought about by the invention of cameras

They did not look into their imaginations but rather took what they saw from the world and conveyed it through their perspective.

The piece was created in one night- the process of destruction & recreation

Broke away from surrealism which was looking below the realist surface of life to existentialism a contemplation on the very basics of human existence and this lack of meaning.

It is one of several in a series of extremely thin humans and animals cast out of bronze. A representation of the horrors of concentration camps.

He struggled greatly with the meaning of life.
