Sewing InstructionsNote: All seam allowances are 1⁄4” (.64cm). Sew all pieces with right sides together and raw edges even using matching thread.
Star Block Assembly1. Sew a 41⁄4” (10.8cm) Fabric A quarter-square triangle
(QST) between (2) 23⁄8” (6.03cm) Fabric K half-square triangles (HST) along the diagonal edges to make Unit A (Fig. 1). Unit A measures 2” x 31⁄2” (5.08cm x 8.89cm). Repeat to make a total of (4) Unit A.

4. Noting the orientation of the rows, sew the Center Unit between the (2) Unit B to make (1) Star Block (Fig. 4). Star Block K/A measures 61⁄2” x 61⁄2” (16.51cm x 16.51cm).
5. In the same manner, make (1) Star Block using Fabric K for the star and Fabric B for the background.
6. Make (1) Star Block each using Fabrics E, F, I, L, V, X, and Z for the stars and Fabric A for the background.
7. Make (2) Star Blocks each using Fabrics C, D, J, P, T, and W for the stars and Fabric A for the background.
8. Make (1) Star Block each using Fabrics E, F, I, L, V, X, and Z for the stars and Fabric B for the background.
9. Make (2) Star Blocks each using Fabrics G, H, M, N, O, Q, R, S, U, Y, and AA for the stars and Fabric B for the background.
Half-star Block Assembly10. Sew a 23⁄8” (6.03cm) Fabric A HST to a 23⁄8” (6.03cm)
Fabric C HST along the diagonal edge to make Unit C. Square up Unit C to measure 2” x 2” (5.08cm x 5.08cm) (Fig. 5).

12. Sew a 41⁄4” (10.8cm) Fabric A QST between (2) 23⁄8” (6.03cm) Fabric C HST along the diagonal edges to make Unit A (refer to Fig. 1). Unit A measures 2” x 31⁄2” (5.08cm x 8.89cm).
13. Sew (1) Unit A between (2) 2” (5.08cm) Fabric A squares to make Row 2. (refer to Fig. 2) Row 2 measures 2” x 61⁄2” (5.08cm x 16.51cm).
14. Noting the orientation of the rows, sew the two rows together to make (1) Half-star Block (Fig. 7). Trim evenly to measure 31⁄2” x 61⁄2” (8.89cm x 16.51cm). Make a total of (18) Half-star Blocks.
Quarter-Star Block Assembly15. Sew a 23⁄8” (6.03cm) Fabric A HST to a 23⁄8” (6.03cm)
Fabric C HST along the diagonal edge to make Unit C. Square up Unit C to measure 2” x 2” (5.08cm x 5.08cm) (refer to Fig. 5). Make a total of (2) Unit C.
16. Noting the orientation of the pieces, sew a Unit C to (1) 2” x 2” (5.08cm) Fabric C square to make Row 1. Row 1 measures 2” x 31⁄2” (5.08cm x 8.89cm).
17. Noting the orientation of the pieces, sew (1) 2” x 2” (5.08cm x 5.08cm) Fabric A square to (1) Unit C to make Row 2. Row 2 measures 2” x 31⁄2” (5.08cm x 8.89cm).
18. Noting the orientation of the rows, sew the (2) rows together to make (1) Quarter-star Block (Fig. 8). Square up the block to measure 31⁄2” x 31⁄2” (8.89cm x 8.89cm). Make a total of (4) Quarter-star Blocks.

Quilt Top Assembly19. Following the (Quilt Layout diagram) for placement
and orientation, lay out a total of (50) Star Blocks, (49) Fabric A and Fabric B 61⁄2” (16.51cm) squares, (18) Half-Star Blocks, (22) Half-setting Blocks, and (4) Quarter-star Blocks in (13) horizontal rows.
20. Sew the blocks together in each row. Press the even-row block seams to the right and the odd-row block seams to the left.
21. Sew the rows together in order, matching adjacent seams. Press the seams towards the bottom of the quilt top. Quilt top measures 601⁄2” x 721⁄2” (153.67cm x 184.15cm).
Finishing22. If using 44/45” (112/114 cm) wide Fabric for
backing, sew the two backing Fabric pieces together. Trim to measure 68” x 80” (172.72cm x 203.20cm).
23. Layer the backing right side down, batting, and quilt top right side up. Baste the layers together and quilt as desired. Trim the batting and backing even with the quilt top.
24. Sew the (7) 21⁄4” x WOF (5.72cm x WOF) Fabric C binding strips end to end using diagonal seams to make one continuous strip. Press seams open. Fold binding strip in half, wrong sides together, and press.
25. Leaving an 8” (20.32cm) tail, sew the binding to the top of the quilt through all layers, matching raw edges of the binding and quilt top. Miter corners. Stop sewing approximately 12” (30.48cm) from the beginning. Lay both loose ends of binding flat along the quilt edge. Where the loose ends meet, fold ends back on themselves and press to form a crease. Using this crease as the stitching line, sew the two open ends of the binding with right sides together. Trim seam to 1⁄4” (.64cm) and press seam open. Finish sewing binding to the quilt top.
26. Turn binding to back of quilt and hand-stitch in place.
