A, Lillian and Lanalia C, Caroline G, Kerry C, Darryl
N, Millie F and Paul.
On behalf of the school community thank you for
your generosity, friendly smiles and
reliability. These ladies and gentlemen helped
throw a fantastic Halloween disco, I apologise if I
have missed your name!
What a treat last Friday, there were gruesome
monsters and gorgeous ghouls, happy teachers and
laughing parents. Parents and Friends Group enjoy
creating these community events for our families
but we could not do it without the support of all
those volunteers. Well done everyone and
congratulations once again to our happy, well
mannered students, it was our pleasure to have
you as our guests!
Best wishes,
Heather Nicol

On October 25th a group of students from Year 5/6 went out to play T20 Cricket against
other schools. It was a lot fun and despite the hot weather, we all had an amazing day out.
The girls team won one game with a huge score of 202, but sadly the boys lost both their
games. There were lots of laughs and smiles all day long.
All the students that went to cricket would like to thank the parents who came along and sat
through the hot weather to support our teams and also to Mrs Tolley and Mrs Hales for
coaching and helping us all day long!

Parents of grade 5/6 students are invited to be involved in an exciting opportunity, the Victorian Maths Challenge, to be held at Clifton Springs Primary School on
Wednesday 2nd November, 2016 from 2:00 - 3:30pm. We are looking forward to seeing you at this event.
Students in grades 5 and 6 will be involved in a series of maths challenges. The Maths
Challenges are intended to provide an enrichment opportunity for students supported by
their parents. Taking part in Victorian Maths Challenge is a great opportunity to show your
interest and share the love of learning with your child.
The Victorian Maths Challenge aims to increase confidence and engagement in mathematics
by encouraging families to explore and discuss maths concepts every day. Family participation
in learning is one of the most accurate predictors of a child’s success in school and beyond.
The Victorian Maths Challenge is a partnership between the Mathematical Association of
Victoria (MAV) and the Victorian Department of Education. The activities will assist in
building the Victorian Maths Challenge Community
We encourage you to come and join in the fun at our school as we participate in these
challenges and see what’s possible.

Getting Professional Help In a small percentage of families, the conflict between brothers and sisters is so severe that
it disrupts daily functioning, or particularly affects kids emotionally or psychologically. In
those cases, it's wise to get help from a mental health professional.
Seek help for sibling conflict if it:
is so severe that it's leading to marital problems
creates a real danger of physical harm to any family member
is damaging to the self-esteem or psychological well-being of any family member
may be related to other significant concerns, such as depression
