General Application : High Performance butterfly valves are designed for high pressure and high flow applications in General. Because of their design high performance butterfly valves are widely used in seagoing and inland product and chemical tankers and for other marine applications. Compared to rubber lined butterfly valves the high performance butterfly valves can be used for higher temperature applications as well, making them suitable for steam applications. In combination with the API 607 Fire Safe certified seat the high performance butterfly valves are used in fire safe application such as valves in fire fighting pipe lines on board of ships, offshore platforms etc. Furthermore high performance butterfly valves are used in many applications in chemical and petrochemical plants, nuclear power plants and high pressure piping systems in general. Torque figures as mentioned in the torque table are; Initial break away and seating values in Nm (Newton Meters) Excluding any safety factor For valves that are operated at least once per month Temperature 0° to 50°C

For sizing and safe operation purposes the specified torque values need to be multiplied with the following minimum safety factors; For liquid and lubricant media sf = 1.30 For powdery (non-lubricant) media sf = 1.6~2.0 For dry gasses and high viscous media sf = 2.0
