BLA CAMPUS AND BLA WEBINAR SERIES
On 21 July 2020, to mark its 34 th anniversary, BLA launched its
BLA Campus and Webinar Series ELP 6
Sharing Session, its first post convid-19 activity via zoom in
partnership with Politeknik Brunei and Universiti
Teknologi Brunei. We had an over whelming response of over 100
librarians from different sectors joining the one
and a half hour live broadcast. Four young emerging library
leaders spoke and shared their experiences in
programmes attended in Beijing, IFLA World Library and
Information Conference in Kuala Lumpur and library
study visit to Kuching. The Webinar session began with a doa
recital and a Welcoming Remarks by Pn Hjh
Nellie.
BLA President. Pn Nellie said the BLA Campus is the centre of
knowledge and learning for librarians. From the
positive feedback from participants it was clear that this mode
of broadcast although new is gaining popularity
among the library community. Regular Webinars and forums using
virtual platforms are planned as BLA aims at
reaching out to our librarians as widely as possible for greater
impact.
The session was moderated by Pn Hjh Pusparaini Hj Thani. It was
followed by Questions and Answers.

I'm sure ramai jua kali tadi atu yang kan participate menanya
soalan ganya pemalu bah kebanyakkannya kitani ani. Padahal siuk.
Tapi with Webinar ani kalau biskita adakan lagi its a good exposure
jua arah yang masih belajar atu supaya lebih bersemangat kan
belajar pasal librarianship ani. Especially meliat² biskita
belayar² atu. Even someone like me yang lama sudah bekeraja pun
teruja jua mendengar. This is just from my point of view lah ah.k
In fact kalau ramai lagi di kalangan kakitangan perpustakaan ani
yang didedahkan dengan maklumat dan kongsi sama macam tadi atu
boleh membuka minda bisdia but I realised yang join atu tadi nda
ramai dikalangan kawan2 yang sudah bekeraja. Sayang... I couldn't
agree more. We need to catch up with the new technology. Hearing
from Hj Hafidz side of the story about china library technology
makes us open our eyes. We might not be that high tech but maybe we
can learn something from them Abu Hasrah Hj Kamis: Librarians must
be creative di era masakini dan akan datang terus memburu ilmu
Taiyibah Nurul Huda Hj Ali: I would like to take this opportunity
to Congratulate BLA for the launching of BLA
Campus yay~ & making sure that great minds, info knowledge
& experiences are shared amongst the hearts of library
communities throughout this ELP 6. Congratulations BLA for

PHOTOGRAPHS FROM BSP ARCHIVES
Over 30,000 photographs dating as far back as in the 1920s from
Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd’s archives were handed over
to the Brunei National Archives, Museums Department, Ministry of
Culture, Youth and Sports on 6 Aug 2020. This is the largest
collection from a private company of unique photos, many had never
been published and provided a fascinating glimpse into past decades
