Their accomplish- ments over the last two years are impressive. These kids still surprise the Amateur Radio community in Bell County. They have passed tests that I thought were only for adults. I even think many adult Hams would have a problem passing some of these tests. Their parents are to be commended. These young adults are home schooled and also have daily chores. To instill these values in young people of today will make responsible adults. Caleb Sullivan, age 9, KF5MUN, earned his Amateur General license in 2012. ...Floyd Bumpus, N5EL, became a Silent Key on Jan. 2. Services were Jan. 7 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Floyd and XYL, Wilma (also SK), were longtime TARC members. He was a well known Morse code aficionado, both American Morse and International Radiotelegraph Code. Floyd was active as an Elmer and a VE. He dem-onstrated the two codes on numerous occasions and was a docent at the Tem-ple Railroad Museum where he demonstrated the old railroad Morse code techniques complete with a Prince Albert Tobacco can “amplifier.” Condolences to
Dave, Floyd’s son.
