WARNING FOR THE SAFETY-RELATED COMPONENT.

• There are some special components used in LCDmonitor that are important for safety. These parts aremarked on the schematic diagram and thereplacement parts list. It is essential that these criticalparts should be replaced with the manufacturer’sspecified parts to prevent electric shock, fire or otherhazard.

• Do not modify original design without obtaining writtenpermission from manufacturer or you will void theoriginal parts and labor guarantee.

TAKE CARE DURING HANDLING THE LCD MODULEWITH BACKLIGHT UNIT.

• Must mount the module using mounting holes arrangedin four corners.

• Do not press on the panel, edge of the frame stronglyor electric shock as this will result in damage to thescreen.

• Do not scratch or press on the panel with any sharpobjects, such as pencil or pen as this may result indamage to the panel.

• Protect the module from the ESD as it may damage theelectronic circuit (C-MOS).

• Make certain that treatment person ’s body aregrounded through wrist band.

• Do not leave the module in high temperature and inareas of high humidity for a long time.

• The module not be exposed to the direct sunlight.

• Avoid contact with water as it may a short circuit withinthe module.

• If the surface of panel become dirty, please wipe it offwith a softmaterial. (Cleaning with a dirty or rough clothmay damage the panel.)

WARNING

BE CAREFUL ELECTRIC SHOCK !

• If you want to replace with the new backlight (CCFL) orinverter circuit, must disconnect the AC adapterbecause high voltage appears at inverter circuit about650Vrms.

• Handle with care wires or connectors of the invertercircuit. If the wires are pressed cause short and mayburn or take fire.

PRECAUTION

CAUTIONPlease use only a plastic screwdriver to protect yourselffrom shock hazard during service operation.

<Table of PIP/POP/PBP Function Support>

When 'Input Signal 1' comes on in the main screen, only 'Input Signal 2' can be displayed on thesub-screen. On the contrary, if the main screen displays 'Input Signal 2', the sub-screen can display'Input Signal 1' only. You can swap 'Input Signal 1' and 'Input Signal 2' using the SWAP button.

DESCRIPTION OF BLOCK DIAGRAM

1. Input Selection Circuit1) Analog Input Selection

This block is composed of BA7657F(U103) andperipheral devices.There are analog H/V Syncs. BA7657F IC chooses oneinput and outputs selected input through sync selectionpin (Pin 1).

2) Video Input SelectionThis block is composed of video S/W IC (CXA2040Q,U3) and peripheral devices. There are three inputs inCXA2040Q IC(CVBS video signal through RF tuner,video input CVBS, S-video signal). One selected videosignal is transmitted a video decoder IC (VPC3230, U1)

2. DDC controllerThis block is composed of GM1501(U402) andperipheral EEPROM IC(U107,U108). GM1501(U402) controls peripheral devices through IICline. Major functions are (1) to control Flash memorythrough DDC-SCLA, DDC-SDAA of D-sub and (2) tostore EDID data in the EEPROM (U107,U108).

3. Video DecoderThis block is composed of VPC 3230 (U1) andperipheral devices.GM 1501 controls this IC through IIC Line. This IC analyzes input signal of CVBS, Y/C and outputanalyzed signal (8bit interlace signal) to De-interlaceblock.Analyzed signal has video control signals like Contrast,Brightness, Sharpness, Color, tint signals IncludingAdaptive Comb Filter.

4. Audio DecoderThis block is composed of MSP3420G (U503) andperipheral devices.GM 1501 controls this IC through IIC Line. This IC analyzes audio input signal through A/V Jackand PC audio. The analyzed signals transmitted to audio amplifier(TPA3004, U505).

5. Audio AmplifierThis block is composed of TPA3004 (U505) andperipheral devices.The function of the audio amplifier is that to amplifyaudio L/R signal transmitted from audio decoder. Theaudio signal is amplified according to pre-defined DCvolume control curve. Also, Headphoneamplifier(Tpa6110, U501) is controlled through Line-out.

6. De-interlacerThis block is composed of FLI 2310(U301) andperipheral devices.GM1501 (U402) controls this IC through IIC Line.And this IC converts 8 Bit Interlaced Y/UV signal to De-interlaced signal.It output converted signal to Format Converter IC(GM1501, U402).

7. Format ConverterThis block is composed of GM 1501(U402) andperipheral devices. GM 1501(Scaler,U402) containsMICOM.1) This IC contain A/D converter, Pre-amp and PLLcircuit that converting analog video signal(0.7Vp-p)through D-sub(J103) Pin to digital signal.2) This IC Decode TMDS signals of 8 line from DVI-DPin (J202) and transmit to LVDS Transmitter.GM 1501 is Format Converter IC that receivesDigital/Analog signal and outputs proper frame signal toLCD Module Timing(1280x768,WXGA).

8. DC/DC Converter blockDC/DC Converter convert the input 12V, 24V to proper2.5V, 3.3V, 5V, 1.8V for main control system.For shooting heat trouble, we use the DC/DCconverting IC.

9. Caption/V-CHIP blockThis block is composed of M37136(U202) andperipheral devices. M37136 IC is useful for channelselection system for TV with a closed caption decoder.It receives text information signal and displays textinformation through text receiver decoder. It calledmulti-text broadcast.

10. Power Supply BlockThis Block generates DC Voltages(24V) to MainControl system from AC Power(100-240 V, 50/60 Hz,1.0 A).This Circuit contains PFC(Power Factor correction)circuit. The Minimum of Power efficiency is about 75%.
