J25 Gyratory

Installation of the concrete vehicle containment barrier to the inner gyratory was carried out last month.

Works will continue within all areas which will include excavations, subbase, installation, kerbing works along with installation of the new traffic signal ducting.

Ruishton Junction Works are ongoing at the junction/park and ride entrance with the attenuation pond completed this month, the new drainage installation continuing along with the new utility installations. The site team are also focusing on continuing with the construction of the new roadways.

New Nexus 25 Roundabout Works have continued at pace with the construction of the new precast concrete attenuation tank and we’ll be aiming to complete this this month.

COVID-19 We are ensuring operatives are able to maintain social distancing measures wherever possible and using additional PPE e.g. gloves and face masks where social distancing cannot be observed. Additional cleaning is being carried out. Breaks are being staggered and works scheduled to enable social distancing. Non-essential works are being stopped to reduce exposure to the work force. These measures are being assessed daily to ensure they comply with both the government guidelines and our own health and safety standards.

Road Closures A temporary closure of Ruishton Lane will be available from 30th July 2020 for eighteen months. (Ref ttro369085TD). The closure will be implemented several times throughout this period, to allow Wessex water access to upgrade their system along with construction of the new junction. Pedestrian access will be maintained and a diversion route for traffic will be clearly signed. The diversion route will be via Cheats Road, Lipe Lane and A358. The first closure will be in place during August when Wessex Water will upgrade their system.
