In 1904 Giuseppe Moretti created the iron man Vulcan.Although he was not made completely up he was the Roman blacksmith god. He was advertising some things that are common in Al. like iron and steel.

Vulcan park is on Red Mountain

Vulcan stands on a sand stone pedestal

It was changed to marble to look more modern
