From the earliest Delta rockets to the industry work-horse Delta II, continual upgrades and improvements have led to the Delta IV Heavy, the most reliable, highest-per-forming rocket in the world with a proven, 100 percent success record. Delta IV not only provides demonstrated reliabili-ty with 100 percent mission success for our nation’s most critical payloads, it also boasts a highly capable second stage that enables ULA to deliver unmatched performance. The Delta IV Heavy first stage consists of three common booster cores. The Delta cryo-genic second stage and a 5-m-diameter payload fairing complete the stack. Leveraging proven processes, technol-ogy and expertise, Vulcan Centaur provides the highest value launch service with optimal performance to meet the full range of mission require-ments. Vulcan Centaur consists of a single booster stage, the high-energy Centaur upper stage, and a 5-meter-di-ameter payload fairing. For additional lift-o� power, up to six solid rocket boosters can be added to the Vulcan Centaur rocket.
More capabilities in space mean more capabilities on Earth. By making launch more a�ordable, Vulcan Centaur opens up new opportunities for space capabil-ities, o�ering unprecedented flexibility in a single system. From low-Earth orbit to Pluto, the single-core Vulcan Centaur does it all.
Since 1957, the Atlas rocket has been an integral part of the United States’ space program, supporting national defense missions, launching Mercury astronauts to orbit and sending spacecraft to the farthest reaches of the solar system. Over the years, the Atlas booster has undergone a series of continuous improvements, culminating in the current Atlas V rocket with its modular design approach to meet specific customer requirements. All Atlas V launch vehicles consist of a common core booster first stage, a Centaur second stage and either a 4-m diameter or a 5-m-diameter payload fairing. To accommodate missions requiring additional thrust at lifto�, one to three solid rocket boosters (SRBs) can be added to the Atlas V 4-m vehicle while the Atlas V 5-m vehicle can support up to five SRBs. Flexibility, reliability and 100 percent mission success are the hallmarks of the Atlas V system, making it the launch vehicle of choice for the full range of customer requirements.
