VSN162 Waterfeed – Automatic Plant Watering System

Waterfeed unit is inserted into the soil and it waters the plant automatically when the soil is dry.

- Automatic watering system

- Soil moisture measurement in 4 levels (1 is dry and 4 is wet)

- Watering level setting for different species of plants

- Alert to remind user to refill the reservoir when it is empty (LCD flashes “EMPTY” and LED indicator blinks)

- Low battery indicator (LCD displays low battery icon and LED indicator blinks)

- Reservoir holds up to 350mL of water

- Operated by 2 pieces of AAA batteries

Initial Setup & operation

- Pull out the plastic lid on top of the reservoir and fill in water. Place back the plastic lid.

- Open the battery door and insert 2 pieces of AAA batteries according to the polarity indicated

- Close the battery door

- The upper line of the display shows the soil moisture reading in 4 levels (1 is dry and 4 is wet)

The lower line shows the watering level setting.

Press [MODE] button repeatedly to select the automatic watering level between “1”, “2”, “3” & “-“

Page 2: VSN162 Waterfeed – Automatic Plant Watering System… · VSN162 Waterfeed – Automatic Plant Watering System Waterfeed unit is inserted into the soil and it waters the plant automatically

When watering level is 1, the unit will water the plant automatically when soil moisture reaches level 1

When watering level is 2, the unit will water the plant automatically when soil moisture reaches level 2 or below

When watering level is 3, the unit will water the plant automatically when soil moisture reaches level 3 or below

When watering level is “-“, the automatic watering function is disabled

- After setting the watering level, insert the unit into soil until it reaches the round plastic plate

Note: When the display shows “EMPTY”, the [MODE] button does not function until water is refilled into the reservoir

Note: Press and hold [MODE] button for over 6 seconds to manually release water for 8 seconds (around 50ml)

Reference Watering level

kept moist.

** Above table is for reference only and different factors such as the type of soil & fertilizer may affect

the actual soil moisture level & the suggested watering level. We do not take any liability for any loss or

damage caused by this reference table

Note:

- The soil sensor measures electric current flowing between the 2 metal pins on the probe and converts the signal

into soil moisture level indication. Due to the fact that electrical conductivity varies between different type &

density of soil and fertilizer as well as the positioning & depth of the probe, the moisture level reading may vary

accordingly and this is normal. The soil moisture level is to provide general reference of the soil moisture

condition only.

- The plant monitor may not be able to measure the soil moisture accurately for very coarse or gravely soils due to

the non-conductive air gap or spacing hidden inside the soil. In this case the soil moisture reading may be lower

than expected and this is normal.
