SkyEdge II DVB-S2 ACM Enhancements

Not all DVB-S2 implementations are equal .Gilat’s SkyEdge II is

more efficient than usual competing DVB-S2 ACM schemes. This

is due to the incorporation of the following enhancements :

Support of a wide range of ModCods including 16APSK and

32APSK with predistortion where required

Support for short and normal MPEG transport frames

Efficient packing and Concatenation

Advanced scheduling

Network-wide Frame optimization

WiMAX

WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a

wireless industry coalition dedicated to the advancement of IEEE

802.16 standards for broadband wireless access (BWA) networks

Wireless communication technology

Point to multi-point architecture

All IP network

Theoretically: 50Mbps throughput / 70Km range

Adaptive modulation – resistance to interference
