Cleaning the custom moldCleanyourcustommoldaftereveryusebywipingitwithadrycloth.Inmostcases,thereisaholethroughthecustommold(belowthespeakerunit).Thisisthevent.Iftheventispluggedwithwax,insertthecleaningtool(supplied)fromtheoppositeend(nearestthespeakerwire),andpushthroughtoremovethewax.

Replacethewaxprotection(WaxStop)wheneverneededfollowingthisprocedure:

1)TakethestickwiththenewWaxStoponit(1). Ontheoppositeendisaremovalsocketfor theusedWaxStop(2).

Cell phone and hearing instrument compatibility

Somehearinginstrumentusershavereportedabuzzingsoundintheirinstrumentswhentheyareusingcellphones,indicatingthatthecellphoneandhearinginstrumentmaynotbecompatible.

Thecompatibilityofaparticularhearingaidandcellphonecanbepredictedbyaddingtheratingforthehearingaidimmunitytotheratingforthecellphoneemissions(ANSIC63.19-2006AmericanNationalStandardMethodsofMeasurementofCompatibilitybetweenWirelessCommunicationDevicesandHearingAids).

Forexample,thesumofahearingaidwitharatingof2(M2/T2)andatelephonewitharatingof3(M3/T3)wouldresultinacombinedratingof5.Accordingtothestandard,anycombinedratingthatequalsatleast5wouldprovide“normaluse”;acombinedratingof6orgreaterwouldindicate“excellentperformance.”
